269- Dislike The Poor, Love The Rich (嫌贫爱富)
Old Man Xu single-handedly raised the fee for her services to a level a normal doctor would never be able to reach. That night, he even purposely made Xing Yuan explain things to her through the phone.
A large majority of people would consider cheap goods or services to be unreliable and bad, especially when the ones offering their services was as young as Jing Yun Zhao; if she were to charge a few dozen of dollars as her consultation fee, even if she were to treat her patients, the patients themselves may not even have the guts to recommend her services to other people.
On the other hand, if she were to accept a large sum for her consultation fee, the other party would have a trace of respect for her, feeling that she truly was capable. Additionally, the large sum of money would serve as a type of guarantee for some people, else they would have treated her like a little child fooling around with the lives of their loved ones.
Hearing Uncle Xing Yuan explain, Jing Yun Zhao didn’t know whether to cry or laugh, but she had to admit that the thought process of Old Man Xu was meticulous.
Obviously, it wasn’t Old Man Xu’s intention to make her into a doctor that only cared about money, according to him she could collect her fees based on the condition of the patient. After all, she had the medical skills, she herself could take the initiative to decide on the amount to charge the patient depending on their ability to pay.
Getting taught by Old Man Xu like this, has allowed Jing Yun Zhao to become more open-minded. However the one thing Old Man Xu could not have predicted, was how much more thorough Jing Yun Zhao would apply his lesson in the future!
This Sunday, Jing Yun Zhao was busy from dawn to dusk.
In fact, going to school was a type of relaxation for her right now.
However, more than a hundred people gathered outside the school early in the morning the next day.
The student pa.s.sing by stared with confusion and curiosity at the group who was holding banners with faces filled with justice as they had no idea what was going on so early in the morning.
Jing Yun Zhao and Su Chu who arrived at the school gates also stopped when they saw the large words written on the banner.
“Women learn to dislike the poor and love the rich, to the point of abandoning their own biological parents, they’re talented but not virtuous!”
Su Chu didn’t pay much attention to the words of the banner, but seeing Jing Yun Zhao who suddenly stopped walking, she asked curiously, “Biao-jie what’s wrong?”
“Chu-chu, you should stay away from me for the time being, or you’ll be implicated in a few moments.” Jing Yun Zhao replied.
Roughly 20-30 people from the group of protestors came from Shui Cang Village, and she knew this because it was she herself who gave them a thras.h.i.+ng. Additionally, there were dozens of people carrying microphones, signs and cameras. However the rest of the people were activists who had no affiliation to Shui Cang Village, and these people were cheering and shouting, “The meaning of education”.
Not only that, the parents who were sending their children to school also had a look of concern on their faces, while the higher-ups of the school were trying to resolve the problem, causing the usual quiet Monday morning to be so lively today!
“Why?” Su Chu didn’t understand, but she caught Jing Yun Zhao’s gaze staring at the group of people by chance and her expression broke down. “It can’t be? So the person they’re talking about i-is…”
Is Biao-jie?
She read what was written on the banner; favoring the rich and disdaining the poor? What nonsense!
Su Chu was instantly triggered into rage, her hand balling into fists, “I’ll help you confront them! What basis do they have to call you that! It’s not like they’re your biological family!”
They all knew about the new paternity test results from Jing Yun Zhao the other night. They didn’t have a single drop of good feelings towards this group of people trying to claim themselves as her family!
“You may know the truth but others don’t,” Jing Yun Zhao withdrew her chilling aura and smiled unexpectedly, “It’s actually a relatively good thing that they’ve created such a large ruckus over it.”
The higher they climb, the harder they fall.
The Jing family truly didn’t have a good day to day life, but being poor wasn’t a valid reason for someone to turn evil. There were so many impoverished people in the world; she used to be one of them.
“Biao-jie, what are you going to do? Take out the paternity test results and throw it in their faces?” Su Chu asked about it, before her mind made a certain connection, and her eyes started s.h.i.+ning brightly.
“No need to be anxious. If you wish for someone to be thoroughly destroyed, you first have to let them go crazy. It’s still early for some people…” Jing Yun Zhao took off her backpack and pa.s.sed it to Su Chu before she stepped towards them, wearing a peaceful smile.
