After figuring a few more things out concerning the guild, and deciding to look into it once they had everyone join it after Sky and Xenia made the contracts for it, Eisen turned to Komer with a curious smile.
"So, you managed to get the wood, right?" The old man asked, and Komer swiftly nodded his head. "Yes, I got a great deal on it, and all the materials are being brought to the harbor right now. The Lord gave us a warehouse to keep everything in." He explained while Eisen nodded his head in satisfaction before grabbing a few mana crystals and enchanting marbles.
"Got it. Then we still have a little bit of time. I want to try something out, shouldn"t be too long." Eisen explained before forming one of the mana crystals into a thin, round coin, which he then swiftly enchanted with his new visualization ability so that he could try out one of his ideas.
Luckily, when he visualized something, it didn"t become blurry or black-and-white like everything else but was displayed as usual. And since Eisen was trying out seriously just concentrating on the visualization in connection to his "Crafter"s Mind" skill instead of in link to his "Truth-Seeing Eyes" ability, he was hoping that the world wouldn"t become black-and-white after looking through this lens.
First, he handed that enchanted lens to Komer to try it out, while the others watched this curiously. But just like that, nothing really happened, and even when Eisen tried to create something in front of Komer with visualization, he still wasn"t able to see it.
So, Eisen swiftly grabbed the lens again and began actually to carve an enchantment onto it. He knew that this would make it relatively unstable, but with an enchantment like this, that would mean that it would become useless if it failed, so Eisen didn"t need to worry about accidentally injuring Komer with this if it became too unstable.
After carving the enchantment, Eisen handed it back to Komer, before trying to see if it worked this time around. But again, nothing. With a loud sigh, Eisen sat down with the mana-crystal lens, deleted the enchantment, and then continued.
Swiftly, Eisen created an enchantment-circle that would connect directly to another enchantment, which Eisen was taking a little bit of a risk. Slowly, Eisen activated his Flame-Of-The-Earth transformation in a single place, his eyes, making them fully transform into the hardest rock-surface as possible. That didn"t influence Eisen"s seeing too much; he just couldn"t move his eyeb.a.l.l.s that easily anymore.
After completing that, Eisen called over Xenia and handed her a needle as well as a piece of paper where he sketched down the other side of the enchantment that was supposed to connect to the lens.
"Please, be careful, alright?" Eisen asked as he created a small mana crystal ring to place around his eye to keep it open at all times and not make him reflectively close his eye while Xenia was working.
"Wait. What?! You want me to carve into your eye, are you insane?" She asked Eisen, really unsure if he was insane or not before the old man sighed. "I"m not insane. Just don"t worry, I shouldn"t even be able to feel it like this. Now, please." Eisen explained before Xenia calmed herself down a bit and carved the enchantments that Eisen asked her to carve into his rock-eyes, while literally, everyone in the room looked away, because that was just a somewhat grueling scene, even if they exactly knew that it didn"t hurt Eisen at all.
After she finished, Xenia set the enchantment circle to the side, before a notification popped up in front of Eisen.
[Do you want to save the Ocular Connection Enchantment as a variation of the Flame of the Earth Transformation?]
Slowly, Eisen thought "Yes," before he deactivated this transformation, instead of activating his whole Demonic Transformation and trying to combine it with this new "Ocular Connection" enchantment, which seemed to work out just fine. He was somewhat afraid he"d take damage like before when he tried activating his full-body enchantment without his transformation activated, but this worked without issues. He took a look at his eyes in a mirror real quick, seeing that there was a light black outline around the enchantment to set it off from his regular golden eyes. Either way, now Eisen turned to Komer once again, who tried the mana-crystal lens out quickly, before opening his eyes wide in surprise.
"Whoa! That"s so cool!" He exclaimed as he now apparently managed to see the small model-s.h.i.+p that Eisen created in the center of the room with visualization. "Finally!" Eisen laughed happily, glad that he didn"t need to figure something else out, before swiftly making more lenses for everyone else to look through.
"Alright, here"s my idea for the s.h.i.+p," Eisen explained to them as he crossed his arms while the others took a close look at the weird floating model of a s.h.i.+p in the center of the room.
"Huh… That"s pretty nice. Although a little bit boring, right?" Evalia asked as she tilted her head to the side a little bit, and Eisen nodded his head. "Well, that"s why I wanted you all to take a look at it. So that you can give me your opinion on it, and so that we can properly change it if you don"t like it." He explained, before continuing. "Although a s.h.i.+p doesn"t need to look super exciting. It just needs to work well. We"ll make the base of the s.h.i.+p out of the wood that Komer bought for us, and then we"ll reinforce it with metal so that it"s stable enough." Eisen said, showing the different parts where metal would be needed to hold everything together easily and protect against some underwater monsters, although Komer interjected.
"Erm, actually, we don"t need that, I think," Komer said before Eisen looked at him confused, and the young merchant swiftly explained. "The wood that I bought is from an Ironbark tree. The majority of wood for s.h.i.+ps comes from that, for different reasons. First, if you properly treat it, it becomes as strong as iron or steel. And second, the trees are giant. It"s a main import from some Forest Giant Town on another continent, and one of the few things that can currently come here from there. They are said to grow to be like 200 meters tall or something." He explained, and Eisen listened to that quite curiously.
"Huh… so you"re saying that the s.h.i.+ps are all made of that type of wood?" Eisen asked, and Komer immediately nodded his head. "Of course not all of them, but at the very least the large ones, yes."
"Perfect then. Alright, how much did you buy?" The old man inquired, before Komer scratched the back of his head with a smirk.
"Erm… a whole tree?" He admitted, before Eisen began to laugh. "Perfect! If they"re as large as you say they are, then we could probably create one with a fully connected spine." Eisen smiled, patting the merchant on his back.
"Good job. Anyway, that"s not what we were talking about for now. We can cut the majority of the metal reinforcement then. That"s going to save us a good bit of time. Evalia, if you want to pep the s.h.i.+p up a bit, then you can make something like a model for the front of it. And we"ll leave every decoration part to you in general, but that just comes once the base is done for the most part. What about the layout for inside?" He asked, and soon enough, everyone came up with their suggestions, saying what they would like to have in there.
That included a training room, a research room, a treasury, an art studio, a large room for Jyuuk to take care of his larger beasts, and of course an area where Eisen and his apprentices could work. And then, of course, the obvious areas like the kitchen, sleeping quarters, storage rooms, and so on.
And a short while later, they were all relatively happy with the overall design, and Eisen swiftly put that down on paper as a rough blueprint.
"Alright, now, let"s go to the harbor then to take a look at everything. Koro, Parc, and Rouge come on. If everything"s ready, you"ll go get all the people that can physically help with the construction from the Church facilities and bring them to the warehouse." Eisen instructed them and swiftly deactivated his demonic transformation, but increased his size to t.i.tan-Form.
While they were on their way to the harbor, Eisen continued making as many mana-lenses as he could so that he would be able to easily instruct the helpers on what to do, at least briefly at the start.
Evalia was hiding a bit with an old Mage"s robe that Xenia lent her so that she wouldn"t be as easily recognized, and Eisen was carrying his two monster girls on his shoulder, while everyone else followed behind. Sky went to get Bree, Dien, and Kirisho since Bree and Dien chose to show Kirisho around town for a while so that they could help a bit as well. And of course, Brody"s friends came along as well, since they would be able to help more than enough.
Once they reached the warehouse, Eisen could already see the ma.s.sive log sticking out the front of it, since it couldn"t completely fit in. With a grin, Eisen nodded his head in satisfaction and stepped up to it, although he activated his Demonic Transformation somewhere where people couldn"t see this happen as he did so.
Slowly, Eisen pressed his hand against the wood to just get a feel for the texture and strength, before smiling happily. "Komer, you outdid yourself with your choice here. This tree has some excellent wood; I have to say." The old man said with a smile before he heard someone coughing behind him to get his attention.
When he then turned around, Eisen saw two men, as well as a few guards, standing there. They were Zaran and his Adviser. "I"m glad you like it. It should be more than enough to make a fitting s.h.i.+p, except maybe if everyone here is planning on growing as you did." Zaran said with a stern expression, not startled by the fact that Eisen grew to three meters.
"Of course, thank you. We will start working on this soon enough, and we will hopefully be away within the next one or two weeks." Eisen explained to Handor"s Lord, who slowly nodded his head. "Good. Your friend already paid for everything, so we won"t need to see each other anymore for now." Zaran said, obviously trying to show something bordering on disgust for the Demon in front of him as a show for his Adviser, which Eisen didn"t mind.
"Yup, see you," Eisen said and nodded at the Lord, trying to seem as cold as possible, before turning back to the huge log, already making plans for everything, while Zaran and his Adviser made their leave.
"And what now?" Koro asked Eisen curiously, before the old man looked back at him and his other two apprentices with a smile, telling them to get to church so that they could get everyone before he then looked at the others. "I know you guys don"t have many or any crafting skills, but you"re just going to be needed for a.s.sembly anyway. We"ll get all the parts ready and slowly start a.s.sembling everything. The hardest part will be the base construction, the spine, and the "ribs," I guess." Eisen explained to them, once more showing them what he meant with his visualization. "After that, it"s just a lot of repet.i.tive labor. Like adding the different layers outside of the s.h.i.+p, waterproofing everything, and that kind of stuff. It"s not that complicated, so don"t worry. I"ll give more detailed instructions when the rest arrive here, alright?"
