"Holy s.h.i.+t, are you seriously the five originals?!" Samurai asked with unparalleled excitement in his voice, and Brody slowly nodded his head while looking at him. "Yup, that"s us. And who"re you?" The Demon-Orc asked, taking note of the fact that Samurai was currently streaming or at least recording footage.
"Ah, I"m Samurai! You may know my Switch Streams; I"m actually pretty popular!" He answered with his hand on his heart and a cheeky grin on his face, before Eisen turned over to Alnico, Stahl who had caught up with everyone, and Zyra. "Is that true, do you know who this is?"
With a loud sigh, Zyra nodded her head before she approached Samurai in a way that it just seemed bothersome, although that seemed to be Zyra"s general approach to anything and everything. "Yes, that"s him, alright… Samu, what are you doing here?"
"Wait, Zyra, what are YOU doing here?" The young man asked with complete confusion before Evalia raised her hand. "She"s my guest, you know?"
And now, utterly confused, Samurai looked back and forth between Zyra and Evalia. "Wait, you know Nataly Klein?" He then finally asked Zyra, and she nodded her head with a blank expression, while Stahl could physically be heard facepalming.
"Dude, just stop. What"re you even doing here? Considering that your stream is still going, it"s obvious that you just want to cash in on everyone being here." Stahl pointed out before Samurai turned around toward him with a glare.
"And what do you want, you Jacksepticear-lookin"-a.s.s?" He annoyedly asked before Eisen looked at him with a frown. "Samurai, was it? Yeah, don"t talk to my Grandkid that way, thanks. I don"t care if you try to steal from me, but leave everyone else here alone." He continued before turning over to Jyuuk. "Do you think we can use the venom gland for anything?"
Immediately, Jyuuk nodded his head. "For sure! I know a way or two to make these to continue producing venom even if they aren"t connected to anything." The Monkey-Beastperson pointed out, while Samurai just looked at Eisen with confusion.
"Dude, you can drop the old man act, we"re all amongst players right now, right?" The streamer pointed out, and for a moment, Eisen looked at him baffled before starting to laugh loudly. "Alright kid, you know what? If you can guess my real age within five attempts, I"ll do two things. I"ll start acting like that age, and I"ll take you with us so that you can film us for your stream thingy. Alright?" Eisen asked him, before continuing with another smile, concentrating on one thing in the back of his head. "But if you can"t guess, you"re going to help us take this thing apart with no compensation."
[Quest given to Samurai]
Eisen gave him a quest to do two things. One, so that this whole thing would be binding, and Samurai would have less to complain. And the other was to spread the fact that Originals can give quests. It was an essential part of their leaders.h.i.+p role, so it was okay if people knew beforehand.
With a s.h.i.+ne in his eyes, Samurai then looked at the notification that appeared in front of him, before turning back to Eisen. "Players can give out quests?!" He asked excitedly, but Xenia shook her head while frowning at Eisen.
"No, only we five can. But what the h.e.l.l, Eisen! Now every player will ask us to give them quests so that they can easily advance!" The High-Elf complained, but Eisen just replied with a smirk and a wink, before he looked back at Samurai.
"Anyway, just try now." He told the streamer, who quickly nodded his head, but wanted to know something first. "Sure, but what are those question marks in the Reward and Failure sections?"
"Oh, those are always there in case we want to give extra rewards and things like that," Eisen answered, and then Samurai crossed his arms.
"Nice, I like extra rewards! Chat, wish me luck!" He exclaimed, before pointing directly at Eisen. "Your real age is 25!"
"Wrong, higher," Eisen responded, crossing his arms with a smirk as he was wondering where Samurai would end up, as the young man seemed worried already. "Erm, 30?"
"Wrong, higher."
"50?"
"Wrong, higher."
"65?"
"Wrong, higher. Last try, kid." Eisen said with a smirk while Samurai was attempting to deal with both the fact that Eisen was, apparently, that old, and that he would be ruining his chance to hit it off with the five people that would be doing amazing things every single day.
"Alright, last effort attempt! I think that you"re actually way older, and made your character seem middle-aged so that you can relive your youth!" Samurai exclaimed one last time, "I think you"re 90 years old!" He exclaimed, but Eisen just smiled at him. For a moment, Samurai thought he did it, but soon enough, he heard a loud laugh from behind him, coming from Stahl and Alnico. "d.a.m.n, I wasn"t in a great mood, but this s.h.i.+t"s cheering me up. Sorry dude, my Gramps is 70. You failed whatever quest he gave you." Stahl said with a grin as he pushed his hands into his pockets, and confused, Samuel looked over at Eisen who swiftly nodded his head.
"Yep, you failed kid, sorry," Eisen said with a grin before the notification popped up in front of him and the three question marks that appeared at the end of the failure punishments lit up and then changed to something else.
"W-Wait, what?! All Players lose the right to ask you for quests! What the h.e.l.l?!" Samurai yelled out, confused and looked over at the information screen in the corner of his eye, where hundreds of thousands of people were currently yelling at him and telling him what an idiot he was. In the meantime, Brody began laughing loudly, and Xenia let out a sigh of relief, while Eisen crossed his arms and nodded his head.
"Yes, you all just lost that privilege. We"re still going to give out quests, but just to those that earned it. If we don"t give you a quest, complain to Samurai, and not to us." Eisen said with a grin, and the young man began to freak out before Eisen started to laugh.
"Hah... You"re streaming right now, right? That means people can see us live when you look at us?" The old man asked just to make sure, and Samurai slowly nodded, before Eisen slowly turned to the other originals and whispered something to them, trying to make sure that they were on the same page. They already talked about something like this, but considering that Samurai"s stream seemed to be pretty busy, it was a great chance to take to spread the word.
"Alright, I guess that got everyone"s attention, huh? Let me make something clear. n.o.body ever had the privilege to just get a quest from us. You can"t come up to us and just ask us for one. We will give out quests, but quite rarely so. But as that is the case, we will give you all a quest right now — an "unofficial" quest, of sorts. We, the five originals, have founded a Guild called . At some point, we will hold interviews with people to be let into the Guild. But for that, you need to hit a few requirements." Eisen exclaimed, making sure that Samurai was keeping his eyes on the group of five before he continued.
"The requirements to be interviewed are simple. Be at least level 50, and have all the skills most important to your occupation at least at Rank 3. The interviews will be case-by-case. If you think you have what it takes to be part of our guild, work toward that. We will announce at a later time when those interviews will start." Eisen said with a smile before he looked at Samurai, and now not at the "Cameras" that were his eyes, but the actual person.
"Turn the stream off for a bit, will you?" The old man asked, and Samurai slowly nodded his head before stepping away from the group for a bit to speak to the viewers of the stream to finish up for the day, while the originals talked to each other.
"Was it a good idea to announce that this early? I mean, we"re a Rank 0 guild right now." Evalia pointed out, and Eisen nodded his head. "Don"t worry about that. We"ll be on the islands for a good while anyway, and as I just said, we"ll announce the date for the interviews later. "Later" is relative, so we can even wait a year if we have to." The old man pointed out before he turned to the big spider behind him.
"Anyway, now that that"s dealt with, let"s deal with this big girl," Eisen said as he put his hand against the dead Mother of Spiders, before Xenia slowly nodded her head, immediately turning around and sprinting to the carriage. "I"ll deal with it from over here, yeah?" She asked, and Eisen nodded with a sigh.
"Let"s get started. Jyuuk, would you please deal with the more sensitive areas like the venom gland. Brody and I will deal with the Carapace. Everyone else please just a.s.sist." The old man said before the group immediately got to work, with Samurai even joining in after he stopped streaming to help out as part of his punishment for failing the quest.
The only ones that didn"t help out were Vardia, Kyla, Zyra and Alnico, who were all still level 1 at this point as such couldn"t help if they wanted to, which they didn"t because they were dealing with a giant spider to be taken apart into its smallest components. And then at some point, when everything from the thorax was removed, including the legs which were then in turn also taken apart, it came to the abdomen.
The first thing that they took out was the easily reachable things, such as the book lungs, the silk glands, and the spinneret. Then came the ovaries, which were holding a lot of unfertilized eggs that might be useful for some different concoctions or necromantic experiments. But that gave Eisen an idea. This monster was called "Mother of Spiders," and judging from that name, it would have made sense that there would be a nest around this area. It was more than likely that all the spiders in this forest were her children, but there was also a good chance for some spider-eggs just laying around.
Activating his "truth-seeing" eyes, Eisen then took a look around to find those fertilized eggs, as he was looking for a third monster to tame. And just as he expected, he located something with the help of those eyes!
At the corner of this bright, open area was a dead tree-stump covered with cobwebs all over, just like everything else, but it also had a slightly stronger glow of mana inside of it than other areas, as it was apparently densely packed with string that was created with the help of the "Mother of Spider"s magic, most likely to just protect the eggs.
"Grampa, what are you doing there..?" Alnico asked confused, trying to figure out why the old man suddenly strayed from the group and just made his way to a seemingly random spot in the area, but the old man just smiled at her.
After Eisen approached the dead tree, he quickly took a look inside, using a stick that was laying next to the tree just to see if anything was moving in there. And sure enough, a few hundred, tarantula-sized spiders crawled out of the tree stump, as they had apparently all just recently hatched.
With a loud sigh, Eisen took another look into the dead tree, thinking that there probably wasn"t any unhatched egg in there. But he thought wrong! There was a single, pure black, round egg inside of that tree.
