"Of course," Doc. Layla replied, before going into a small fit of coughs, "I"d love to taste that coffee again."Regan poured the coffee into the two cups once again and then gave it to the two ladies, "enjoy."
Slowly they drank it, talking in-between sips about some nonsense Regan could care less about.
"... The taste is different this time," Officer Gradis sighed, sniffing the coffee, "kinda sour."
"I taste that to-" Doc. Layla began, stopping to have another fit of coughs.
"Ahh, silly me," Regan frowned, "I forgot to add the creamer. But this time it isn"t needed."
Doc. Layla continued to cough, but then stopped when she noticed the liquid on her hand, "blood?"
Officer Gradis began coughing shocked to find blood on her hand too.
"Hahaha," Regan laughed, "these things are no joke, that took no time at all."
Officer Gradis locked eyes with Regan and muttered between coughs, "what things? What did you put in this coffee?!"
"Ah, poison," Regan smiled, "why? You like it?"
"No wonder the taste was different, you put poison in it!" Officer Gradis jabbed, her voice was hoa.r.s.e from coughing.
"Not this one, the one you drank earlier that was sooo good," Regan grinned, "you guys must have a special liking for poison, the creamer was my secret ingredient."
Gradis reached down to her holster to get her gun.
"Don"t be hostile, it"s not like your hands will be able to move soon," Regan laughed watching Officer Gradis cough blood in frustration, the poison slowly paralyzing her arms and fingers and blurring her eyesight.
"Why? *Cough* why would you do this to me?" Doc. Layla coughed gripping her chest as the poison slowly cruised through her blood tunnels, "what did we do to deserve this?"
Regan"s smile twisted into a frown as she watched Doc. Layla"s distressed face, "it"s not like I hate you, it"s just leaving you alive would put me at a big risk."
Regan slowly stood up from her seat and walked to Doc. Layla"s side, stifling a laugh as she watched Officer Gradis shake violently as she struggled to reach her gun holster, "you see Doc, you have an interesting way to get people attracted to you. Ever since our meeting, I"ve been trying to find your downfall, where is a fault in an amazing Ph.D. holding Doc that I can take, manipulate, and force you to fall with? And then I found it. An amazing doc like you who has seen multiple damaged people, who have helped multiple sociopaths and psychopaths, still forgot just how dangerous your clients may be. Trust is something you can"t have too much of in this profession doc. Trust is the reason why you will die today."
Regan played with the brown locks of Doc. Layla"s hair, "don"t fret though, you were a wonderful therapist, heck you even made me remember my beautiful memories, with broken relationships, and splatters of multiple shades of blood. You just grew in the path of a blossoming flower, so I had to rip the weed out, right?"
