Tsubaki laid in bed after taking a shower. Her mind was still fuzzy with all the shocks she had received in a day. She could only stare helplessly at the ceiling. She had a thought that she had already knew Fuse Ren but considering his status, she brushed it off thinking that it was just a her mind playing tricks. But when the man himself admitted to knowing her and produce the marriage certificate, she went beyond speechless.
So... I"m already a married woman? And it has been for five years?
Tsubaki couldn"t accept that Satsuki hid this important fact from her but she couldn"t really blame him. It would be painful for her to suddenly wake up after her coma with a portion of her memories lost and being told that her forgotten husband wasn"t there beside the bed.
Her husband...
Fuse Ren was a nice man, she couldn"t deny it. But he was only an unattainable dream. If not for the certificate, she wouldn"t even dare dreaming of having him as her husband. A man like him wasn"t short of any socialites to match his status.
What did her young self think? How could she marry a man with such an ident.i.ty? Was it because she loved him too much as he did to her?
He loved her?
Tsubaki covered her face with a pillow. Closing her eyes, she fell into a deep sleep. A blurred image of a man smiling at her appeared in her dreams.
Spring Garden.
Ren rested in his bed. He leaned against the headboard, staring at the night sky outside the gla.s.s wall. Even though he was tired, it was hard for him to sleep.
Almost everything had been let out in the open.
After taking Tsubaki home, Ren immediately went to see Satsuki. He needed to tell the young man that his sister had already knew some things of her past. Satsuki"s response was what he had imagined. He was shocked before he went into fear. Afraid of his sister getting pressured after the revelation.
"You know she"s stronger than what we could see?" Ren said it in a matter-of-factly.
"Yes." Satsuki admitted albeit looking despondent. "If not, she won"t go to find you over a suspicion."
Alas, they could only observe Tsubaki"s reaction after this.
Sitting alone in the room, Ren couldn"t help but wonder what she had been doing. Did she feel restless? But, he hoped she would be sleeping. She had been burdened with him during the day. Imagining a future of him waking up in the morning next to her, he smiled.
The phone on the bedside table rang. A familiar name appeared on the screen. He touched the green icon.
"Mr. Wada."
"Have you read the report?" Wada Tatsuya went straight to the point.
"No. I had urgent matters today." Ren"s eyes landed on a black file he placed earlier on the bedside table.
"I"ve met the shareholders involved. Natsuo won"t stand a chance and Father won"t be able to appease their anger."
"You aren"t afraid to be ruthless to your father?"
"If I don"t do this, the fate of the employees and the company would be much worse." Tatsuya remained with his decision.
Tatsuya knew his adopted father was so persistent in placing his illegitimate child as the head of the company but the Z-Tech Corporation had suffered loss since the day Wada Natsuo took office. Now, the employees were worried with their future and the shareholders had doubts on Natsuo.
"I believe the shareholders have started pressuring President Wada to give his position to you. Gain the chairman"s trust. He"s your trump card."
"Grandfather wants to meet me in secret tomorrow. He mentioned talking about combining my shares with his and my mother"s. I"ll give him the evidence against Natsuo to further convince him."
"I"m waiting for the good news."
"Yes."
Ren leaned sideways against the gla.s.s wall. He smirked whenever he thought of the rats" doomed future once Wada Tatsuya became the new president of Z-Tech. Sagara and his minions would be ousted from Fuse Corporation in no time.
His phone rang again. This time it was Akashi.
"What?"
"Ren!" Akashi screamed in urgency. "I"ve found our potential suspects for the case. I"ve sent the file to you."
"Okay."
Without waiting for Akashi"s next remark, Ren dashed off to his laptop. It would be better to view the file through it than using his phone. He frowned deeply once he saw the list appeared on the screen.
