They didn"t tell Satsuki about what Kitaoji Masaru tried to do to Tsubaki. As her cheek didn"t swell as much as last night"s, she covered it with a light makeup. Ren insisted for her to have a quick scan. After Toshiro deemed she was alright, they left for the meeting with Old Master Kitaoji. Hibiki drove them to a restaurant. The old man had already waiting for them in a private room."President Fuse, it"s an honour for me to meet you." Chairman Kitaoji stood up once Ren entered the room. Tsubaki was waiting outside with Hibiki.
"Likewise, Chairman Kitaoji." Ren extended his hand, shaking hands with the respected elder. He wore a complete three piece suit in dark tones, enhancing his regal aura.
"What can I do for you, Mr. Fuse?" Old Master Kitaoji asked while a.s.sessing the young man before him.
He knew how capable the new head of Fuse Family was in managing his business. In five short years, he had brought Fuse Corporation to a whole new level. He was so low profile despite his soaring high status, making it hard for people to see him in even in the prestigious of events. Despite most of the socialites in the city aiming for him, he never played around with them. He didn"t even have any scandal involving women, unlike most of the rich heirs.
If only Masaru could be half of this good man.
"Thank you for entertaining my sudden request. I want to speak about a personal matter with you, regarding your grandson Kitaoji Masaru." Ren didn"t want to delay any longer so he went straight to the point.
"Why? Did Masaru do something to offend you?" His expression filled with worry at the sudden mentioned of his grandson.
"Not to me but to someone dear to me." Ren turned to the slightly opened door. "Come in."
Tsubaki took a deep breath before pushing the door. Hibiki was guarding outside. She walked inside and gave a respectful bow to the old man.
"Good evening, Mr. Chairman."
"Miss Hanada?" The old man couldn"t hide his shock once he saw the familiar young lady. "What are you doing here?"
"Come and sit beside me."
Ren took her hand and pulled her gently towards him. Tsubaki obeyed wordlessly. Chairman Kitaoji was still baffled with the sight of these two people acting affectionately to each other.
"Mr. Fuse, what..."
"Hanada Tsubaki is my wife even though I haven"t publicised our marriage." His voice was clear, leaving no sign of doubt to the people around him. "And your grandson has done something despicable to her last night."
"What?" His eyes widened in shock. With every bit of revelation, Chairman Kitaoji almost pa.s.sed out. But he quickly looked at Tsubaki, his eyes showing concerns. "Miss Hanada, what has he done to you? Please tell me honestly."
Tsubaki glanced at Ren, finding courage through him. He smiled and rubbed circles on her hand using his thumb, urging her to speak. She returned his smile and turned to the anxious old man. Her voice was steady, didn"t show any weaknesses.
"Last night, he attempted to have his way with me."
Once Tsubaki finished her sentence, Chairman Kitaoji turned pale. He was speechless. He understood what she wanted to say. Masaru had tried to **** her!
"He... you... are you okay?" He was completely baffled, unable to form coherent words. "Did he manage to do anything? Did he hurt you?"
"I"m okay, Mr. Chairman." Tsubaki quickly rea.s.sured him, feeling sorry when she saw his pale face. "I managed to fight him back. And... thank you. For believing my word. After all, it"s a heavy accusation to be made."
"I know my own grandson..." The old man lowered his head pitifully. His hands on the table were shaking. "I know he"s capable to do something disgusting like that. I am so sorry, Miss Hanada. If you couldn"t escape from him... I don"t know how to face you..."
"This is a serious matter, Chairman Kitaoji." Ren took over, his voice turned icy cold. Tsubaki flinched when she heard his tone. "I have the evidence against him but I won"t directly turn him to the police. I want to know your opinion on this matter as I still respect you as an elder."
Chairman Kitaoji sighed. He suddenly looked aged faster in a few minutes. He closed his eyes, taking some time to think. Finally, he made his decision.
"As a grandfather, even though he is a terrible man but I do not have the heart to punish him severely. I would buckle under pressure once I hear him crying for help. I believe, it"s best for you to decide. I won"t say anything else even though the law sentences him with the harshest punishment."
"Are you sure?" Ren asked. "I won"t hold back since it involves my wife."
"You have my word, Mr. Fuse. No one in my family would help him. I"ll leave it to you."
Old Master Kitaoji turned his attention to Tsubaki. He smiled but she could see his sadness.
"I"m totally ashamed of myself, Miss Hanada. My own grandson has almost tainted you. You"re a good girl and I always wish for your happiness. And I"m relieved to see such a fine young man becomes your husband."
Tsubaki bowed her head. She could feel the sincerity in his voice.
"Thank you, Chairman Kitaoji."
The old man left with his a.s.sistant. Ren was satisfied with the result. He didn"t have to use major tricks since the old man cooperated well.
"Was it necessary?" Tsubaki asked. She looked up and saw the grim expression on her husband"s face.
"I want everyone to know that they shouldn"t even dream to mess with Mrs. Fuse. You"re my bottom line. I"d be ruthless to those who dares to cross it."
