"Z-Tech? Isn"t it our main rival?" One of the shareholders asked. All of their attention was switched to Ren."I heard their shareholders weren"t happy with CEO Wada"s decision to appoint his second son as the Acting CEO when the first one is clearly more capable than him." A chubby man chimed in. "Apparently the civil war of Z-Tech isn"t stopping soon."
"What could they do? CEO Wada doesn"t approve of his adopted son being the head of the company. He is a foolish old man. His illegitimate son would ruin his years of hard works if he didn"t wake up soon."
"Even though Wada Tatsuya doesn"t have Wada blood running in his body, his mind is much more superior than the second son in terms of business. It"s such a waste for CEO Wada to make a decision based on his personal feelings."
A heated discussion about the current state of Z-Tech became the main topic among them. Ren just kept silent and listened to their conversation. He noticed that both Mr. Sagara and Mr. Fujita didn"t take part in the discussion.
"What do you think, Mr. Sagara?" Ren turned his head to Mr. Sagara. He took a bottle of red wine and filled his empty gla.s.s. "What"s your opinion?"
Mr. Sagara coughed before answering the question. "Isn"t it good Z-Tech in a problem among themselves? It means we could beat them up for this quarter."
Ren nodded. "Maybe."
Ren drank his wine without sparing a glance to Mr. Sagara and Mr. Fujita anymore. He pretended he didn"t notice the way both of the foxes looking secretly at him. Surely they were anxious with the remark he deliberately made. He wanted them to feel nervous before slowly catching them in the act.
The dinner ended once they finished their desserts. Most of them were busy with their own businesses but they still made some time to attend the dinner. Even though Old Madam Fuse had long retired from the business, but the matriarch of the House of Fuse was a legendary figure in business world. She singlehandedly led the empire after the death of his husband and son. Her husband had pa.s.sed away since Ren"s father was still a teenager. Before Ren"s father succeeded the business, she was the one who led the company and even grew it to another level.
"Now Little Ren, should we talk about grandma"s future granddaughter-in law?" Old Madam Fuse asked after they had sent all the guests off.
Both of them were casually lounging in a drawing room. A cup of hot tea was placed in front of the old lady. She stared at her beloved grandson. Ren chuckled once he heard his grandmother"s suggestion.
"What do you want to talk about?" Ren took off his jacket and vest before loosening his tie. He placed both of them on the couch beside him.
"Grandma is thinking of Mr. Esumi"s only daughter, Esumi Kanako. She"s beautiful and talented, grandma could tell both of you would match well with each other." Old Madam Fuse took a sip of her tea. Her eyes didn"t linger from Ren"s face.
Even though Ren wasn"t familiar with Miss Esumi Kanako but they had met before. As his grandmother said, the daughter of Esumi Group was beautiful and had talents in business. Her beauty could easily rival beautiful actresses and models. But it wasn"t enough to catch his attention. He had given all of his heart to a lady already and it will never change.
"I already have someone in mind, grandma." Ren dropped the formal act when he was alone with his grandmother. He also appeared more relax.
"Who is it?" The old lady"s eyes lit up. She couldn"t believe her ears even though it was Ren who uttered those words. His stoic and cold grandson had set his eyes on someone?
That girl must be so spectacular to tame this grandson of mine!
"She"s not from a prominent family." Ren didn"t want to hide the fact from his grandmother. He didn"t want the old woman to have high expectations. "She"s an ordinary girl, doesn"t have a high paying job and a.s.sets, she"s only living her life doing what she loves the most."
"But, if the girl managed to catch your heart, grandma doubts she"s a really ordinary girl." Old Madam Fuse smiled.
She didn"t feel surprised when Ren mentioned the girl"s humble birth. It was so like Ren. Since he was young he tended to view his world according to his beliefs. He didn"t mind to befriend someone from different social status if he was interested in that someone. Even though Ren didn"t like to socialise and talk much, but he knew how to pick his friends. His circle of friends was small but filled with a sense of brotherhood.
"She"s one of a kind." A smile graced his handsome face. His usual cold features softened when an image of Tsubaki smiling crossed his mind.
"Oh!" Old Madam Fuse brought one of her hands over her mouth, quite intrigued and excited with the way his grandson looked right now. She felt like her old heart was fluttering with love.
Ah, if only she was still young and her husband was still by her side.
"When would you bring her to meet grandma? Grandma really wants to see the lady who makes my Little Ren is so in love like this." Old Madam Fuse couldn"t contain her excitement.
"Relax, grandma. I"ll bring her soon." His grandmother"s joy was infectious. He himself couldn"t stop smiling.
"You"ve promised! Don"t make grandma wait for so long. Or your old grandma would utilise her own secret service to get to her first."
Ren laughed deeply. He stood up from his seat and went to sit beside his grandmother. He hugged the delicate body of a seventy year old woman.
"Don"t worry. I"ll bring her here soon."
Yes. He would get Tsubaki to come here and he would introduce her as the future First Lady of Fuse Family. That day won"t be long. It would arrive soon.
