Chapter 66 - Chance Encounter
Movie City was very large. When Cao Gonggong booked the tickets, he also rented an electric-powered sightseeing car.
Usually, electric sightseeing cars were driven by professional staff, but as an omnipotent butler, Cao Gonggong could basically do anything. In any case, he somehow managed to make the tour guide hand the rented car over to him.
They first went to a Victorian garden to experience historical Europe, then went to interstellar s.p.a.ce on the set of Star Wars.
Song Xiao was enraptured; as a country b.u.mpkin from ancient times, all of this was incredibly magical to him. If his family’s theatrical troupe could do this, that would be great.
In this Movie City, not only did they recreate movie sets, they even had theme rides.
Yu Tang dragged Song Xiao over to sit in an interstellar tunnel. This roller coaster was extremely long, and could travel through interplanetary s.p.a.ce and black holes, as if they were piloting a s.p.a.ceship and soaring through the universe.
Song Xiao had never sat on a roller coaster before, and was very curious about it, so he happily let Yu Tang drag him on.
Cao Gonggong took a look at the ride that was five minutes long before he looked at Song Xiao, and hesitated to speak. He felt that this ride was too frightening, and the empress probably wouldn’t be able to bear it.
However, seeing the emperor’s meaningful gaze, he didn’t dare speak up.
There were two seats in each row, and the handrails in front of them were shaped like joysticks. A cold electronic sound rang out, imitating a s.p.a.cecraft environment. “Du — Xingkong Ship is about to take off; please check your safety belt.”
Yu Tang turned his head to look at Song Xiao’s safety belt and confirm that it was fine.
“Preparing to launch: three, two, one, take off!” Following the electronic voice, the roller coaster began to move, and it shot out like an artillery sh.e.l.l with tremendous force.
“Ah —” The people on the ride cried out involuntarily at the feeling of weightlessness.
The scene around them changed endlessly; it suddenly became a dark, starry sky, and all around them was boundless s.p.a.ce. The roller coaster slowed down here and pa.s.sed through slowly, then it rapidly fell headfirst.
“Ah…” Song Xiao cried out in fright, but no sound came out. His breathing couldn’t keep up with the ups and downs of the roller coaster. In contrast, Yu Tang had no problem keeping up with the rhythm, and honestly wasn’t too afraid. When he realized that something was wrong with Song Xiao, he reached out to tug him, and yelled loudly during an extreme moment, “Baby, adjust your breathing, and just yell when I yell.”
Song Xiao tried yelling when Yu Tang did. Sure enough, he could cry out a lot better, and didn’t feel suffocated.
The ride ended after five minutes, and Song Xiao got off with weak legs. With worried eyes and quick hands, Yu Tang embraced him and pressed a kiss to his pale face. “Do you feel unwell?”
Song Xiao shook his head and buried his face in Yu Tang’s chest for a moment. When he raised his head, his eyes were sparkling. “That was fun. Let’s go play the others ba.”
Yu Tang looked at him and couldn’t help laughing. “Alright.”
He had initially been afraid that Song Xiao wouldn’t be able to take it, and back home, had never taken him on the rides at Dayu Amus.e.m.e.nt Park. Looking at it now, it seemed that Song Xiao really liked it.
And so, the two of them sat on a few more rides in succession.
They returned to the Jura.s.sic era, went through wormhole s.p.a.ce, rode a superhero ride, and so on. After the fifth ride, Song Xiao finally felt a little uncomfortable. When he got off, his vision suddenly turned black and he fell forward.
“Junzhu!” Yu Tang caught him in his embrace. Seeing that Song Xiao’s eyes were firmly shut, he hurriedly held him in a princess carry.
“Aiya, empress!” Cao Gonggong was frightened and hurriedly looked for a bench for Yu Tang to put Song Xiao down.
Yu Tang sat on the bench and had Song Xiao half-lean against him. Song Xiao had already opened his eyes, but he was a little dizzy. He didn’t train in martial arts, and while he was still fine after sitting on two or three rides, too many of them would make him feel dizzy and nauseated.
“Do you feel unwell?” Yu Tang felt very distressed. He never thought that something could happen to Song Xiao while riding a roller coaster.
Cao Gonggong reached out and gently kneaded a few acupuncture spots on Song Xiao’s arm.
“What are you doing?!” Yu Tang slapped away Cao Gonggong’s hand.
“Pressing these acupuncture points can alleviate dizziness.” Cao Gonggong looked at the emperor in astonishment. In the past, when the empress felt unwell, the emperor would still allow Cao Gonggong to ma.s.sage Song Xiao. The emperor had never said anything before, so what was going on today?
Hearing this, Yu Tang personally reached out to do it, and he ma.s.saged Song Xiao’s chest in pa.s.sing so that he could breathe more easily.
“You’re now no longer a real Gonggong.” Dugu An shot a glance at the elegant Butler Cao and coolly gave him the reminder.
Taken aback, Butler Cao coughed drily. When he saw the empress, he had already forgotten that he was no longer a palace eunuch. He didn’t dare say any more, and turned to go buy a hot drink.
This theme parkdidn’t sell tea, and only had hot coffee and cocoa. Apart from that, everything else was all cold drinks. Butler Cao frowned, and could only buy a cup of hot chocolate.
After taking a sip, Song Xiao felt that it was too sweet. He immediately felt his stomach churn, and he bent over and spat it back out.
Butler Cao hurriedly reached out to pat his back, and pa.s.sed him a cup of water. The parks and amus.e.m.e.nt parks in America had drinking fountains everywhere.
After rinsing his mouth, Song Xiao’s complexion improved. Throwing up when he was dizzy conversely made him feel better. This was a pedestrian area, and their tour car couldn’t be driven over. Butler Cao wanted to carry Song Xiao on his back, but didn’t dare speak up at Yu Tang’s glare.
Yu Tang carried Song Xiao on his back and slowly walked to where the car was parked.
“I’m fine already,” Song Xiao said as he leaned against the emperor’s body.
Yu Tang didn’t respond as he hefted him up.
“Apologies, filming is in progress up ahead.” The road to the car park was blocked by people, many of whom were standing around at the front to watch.
“Camellia, give up ba. I don’t love you anymore,” the handsome male actor said to the female lead with a pained expression.
“No, Sawyer, your eyes can’t lie.” The female lead held the man’s face with both hands, her expression sincere.
Song Xiao rested his head on Yu Tang’s shoulder and watched the scene being filmed. He rubbed his chin on Yu Tang’s shoulder and lazily rested there. “Does Your Majesty remember that year at the Xishan hunting ground?”
Yu Tang’s footsteps paused before he turned to switch direction and detour around the filming site. “En.”
During the autumn hunt that year, the two of them had ridden their horses to a distant place. Song Xiao’s horse was frightened by something, and the emperor had rescued Song Xiao from the danger. Both their horses ran off, and Song Xiao had also sprained his leg.
“Get on, zhen will carry you back.” Dressed in bright yellow jianxiu, the emperor crouched before the young a.s.sistant minister.
“That’s unacceptable.” How could an a.s.sistant minister dare allow the emperor to carry him? However, the emperor didn’t allow Song Xiao to refuse, and pulled him onto his back. The young minister curled his fingers nervously, and the emperor, who was carrying him, was also sweating nervously.
That warm body which had occupied his thoughts for so long was plastered to his back, which utterly excited the emperor. What was originally a half an hour journey unexpectedly became a detour of a shichen.
“What about it?” Yu Tang turned his head to rub against Song Xiao’s face. Why had Song Xiao suddenly mentioned Xishan?
Song Xiao smiled. In truth, he had been slightly moved by the actress’s lines. Yu Tang had always thought that Song Xiao only understood the monarch’s feelings later on, but this wasn’t so; it was because the emperor’s eyes also couldn’t lie.
“Hey, my dear nephew.” As they took a detour, they happened to run into Yu Tang’s ninth uncle, Yu Lang. Next to him was Camellia, who gave a brilliant smile.
“Tang, what a pleasant coincidence.” Camellia stepped forward to give him a cheek kiss in greeting, but discovered that there was another head on Yu Tang’s shoulder, and that both his hands were under the knees of two long legs. Forget touching cheeks, even shaking hands was impossible.
