Chapter 1453: Salted Fish Luke In Pursuit of Art

It was just like asking a person who was running to suddenly stop their heart from racing.
It was impossible to do.
Thankfully, Luke’s Star of Justice clone wasn’t that “scientific,” so after it entered hibernation, Big Dipper on Earth still had some degree of consciousness and could receive and send messages.
This was also why Big Dipper wasn’t one step ahead of Selina when she went looking for Loki.
Before they got the scepter and closed the s.p.a.ce portal, Luke wouldn’t place his hopes on this side.
This was the second time Luke was seeing how strong Thor was.
As Thor’s brother, even if Loki wasn’t as good, he wasn’t someone who could be killed in a few moves.
If they were unsuccessful, the enemy might just hide and let the Chitauri army crush both teams with numbers.
If Luke were in Loki’s shoes, he would definitely play it like that.
Only the victor would have the last laugh.
Suppressing his impatience, Luke slowly approached the Chitauri mothers.h.i.+p.
He had calculated the route when he floated out of the remains of the battles.h.i.+p.
There was no resistance in s.p.a.ce. He simply pa.s.sed through the gap and approached the mothers.h.i.+p.
It wasn’t until he was closer that he carefully used his telekinesis to switch directions and make himself float parallel to the surface of the s.h.i.+p.
Only then did he confirm that the surveillance system on the Chitauri mothers.h.i.+p wasn’t very sharp.
Just now, he had used his telekinesis to adjust his movements, and he had pretty much come out of hibernation mode, but the Chitauri soldiers around him still hadn’t done anything unusual.
There was no need for the Chitauri to set bait for a trap at this time.
Given their overwhelming superiority, the small bugs that got close to them were directly turned to dust.
Delighted, Luke s.h.i.+fted his attention to the second mothers.h.i.+p — or rather, its interior.
It wasn’t long before his thoughts moved, and a timed explosive weighing 100 kilograms appeared somewhere inside the mothers.h.i.+p.
Five minutes!
This was his overall plan for this operation.
Earth wouldn’t be able to last for long. He would stuff as many explosives as possible into the Chitauri mothers.h.i.+p before they were triggered in five minutes.
As the saying went, “man proposes, but G.o.d disposes.” Whether or not he could destroy this mothers.h.i.+p would depend on luck.
So, while his teammates were fighting on Earth, Luke was floating in s.p.a.ce like a salted fish.
Only when he detected a suitable nook with Mental Strength did he use his inventory’s release function to place the explosive and set it to explode at the same time.
The closer he got to the back of the mothers.h.i.+p, the faster he moved and the more explosives he stuffed inside.
By the time the five-minute countdown ended, he had already stuffed in the last explosive 20 seconds ago.
The explosions spread along one side of this X-shaped mothers.h.i.+p, covering at least a quarter of it.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
A slightly longer sound of an explosion rang out inside the mothers.h.i.+p, followed by a series of more m.u.f.fled explosions.
But Luke, who was still floating in s.p.a.ce like a salted fish, couldn’t hear them.
Looking at the virtual projection on the lenses of his suit, he praised sincerely, “27 fireworks going off at the same time – what a spectacular work of art!”
In the soundless pitch-black s.p.a.ce, it was a magnificent scene of bright fire and scattered debris.
He no longer acted so cautiously. With a telekinetic push, he flipped nimbly over the explosions and continued to drift toward the other undamaged side of the X-shaped mothers.h.i.+p. He couldn’t help but mutter to himself, “I’m a salted fish, you can’t see me. I’m a salted fish, you can’t see me.”
That had just been a small art performance, and wouldn’t necessarily destroy this colossal s.h.i.+p.
If the Chitauri mothers.h.i.+p cut off two of its “limbs” to survive, more than half of its body would be saved.
This sort of design wasn’t rare at all. Even battles.h.i.+ps on Earth had this sort of bulwark design.
But it wasn’t a big problem.
As long as he blew up the two remaining intact limbs, there probably wouldn’t be many of the Chitauri crew left alive on this mothers.h.i.+p.
Devoted to pursuing the pinnacle of art, Luke embarked on a quest to screw the Chitauri over.
Suddenly, openings appeared in the mothers.h.i.+p, and s.h.i.+ps flew out, most of them heading straight for the explosions.
This type of s.h.i.+p was round, had robotic arms and was more than ten times bigger than the flat flier.
Looking at them, Luke figured that these were probably repair s.h.i.+ps.
It seemed that the Chitauri still wanted to protect the mothers.h.i.+p.
Looking at a nearby opening that was closing up, Luke chuckled inwardly. Perfect!
With a thought, he flew into the opening.
A moment later, it closed behind him, and a door dozens of meters away opened. A bunch of gray-skinned individuals poured out. A round repair s.h.i.+p was moved into this cavernous s.p.a.ce once more.
Luke was still using telekinesis to keep himself floating in the air. He pa.s.sed by these “people,” put down a 100-kg explosive behind a pile of boxes in one corner, and set the timer for two minutes.
After leaving through the door, Luke found himself in a huge pa.s.sage. There were other pa.s.sages around him, and s.h.i.+ps shuttled busily through them.
Following Alfred’s directions, he quickly flew toward the center of the mothers.h.i.+p.
Fortunately, he was able to hitch a ride on a small s.h.i.+p along the way.
It wasn’t a direct route, but it got him close to the center in a minute.
A closed door appeared in front of him, and all s.h.i.+ps had to stop before they could enter.
Luke wasn’t in a hurry.
On the way, he had placed two more explosives at the end of a pa.s.sage.
Luke didn’t stop as he entered a side pa.s.sage.
A moment later, there was the rumble of an explosion. Hiding in a corner to avoid the worst of the heat and impact, he leaned against the wall outside the bulkhead of the mothers.h.i.+p.
The explosion caused even more chaos.
Three of the mothers.h.i.+p’s limbs had been attacked; this definitely wasn’t a small matter.
Small s.h.i.+ps scuttled back and forth like headless flies, and the round repair s.h.i.+ps were especially busy.
Enjoying himself, Luke stuffed even more high-grade, one-ton explosives into the s.h.i.+p’s center.
