Chapter 2.1: Tiger Falling
The current soul in Ye Xuan’s body long merged with the previous unlucky b.a.s.t.a.r.d’s memories so he found the path to the treasure house extremely familiar.
On the way to, he saw many youths of his generation turn their heads and look at him with strange, pitiful eyes.
“Ah, look, that crippled waste dared to come out. Does he not mind losing face?”
“That’s right, that’s right! He must’ve angered the heavens and so punished him by crippling his cultivation! Now look, he’s just an ordinary person!”
“Tsk… what a shame… my cousin just entered the martial way, but look at him! He has no ounce of spirit energy! I’m afraid he’d not be able to beat my cousin were to have a friendly compet.i.tion!”
“How pitiful… from Ye Clan’s number one genius to becoming Cloud Merge City’s number one trash… if I were him, I’d have killed myself from the shame!”
“Didn’t he attempt to commit suicide by cutting his wrist?”
“Heh! Maybe the image of his beautiful fiancee came to mind and he decided not to throw away his life! !”
Many of Ye Clan’s disciples leaned close to one another and whispered words of disdain. After all, his cultivation base dissipated into nothingness and it was the first time Cloud Merge City saw such occurrence.
The populace suspected Ye Xuan somehow angered the heavens, thus resulting in his current misfortune.
Ye Clan’s existence came to life only around two hundred years ago. They were a new clan but their presence in Cloud Merge City was colossal. Originally, Ye Xuan was hailed as the number one genius of Ye Clan. They treated him like their G.o.d, but now… everything was different.
When Ye Xuan reached the treasure house, the manager at the front door entrance raised his head. Suddenly, his countenance twisted into one of pure disgust. “Ye Xuan, what are you doing here?”
“I want a stalk of the Hundred Years Old Blood Ginseng.” Upon hearing the other party address his name informally, his lips curled down slightly, however, he chose not to express his thoughts out loud.
The treasure house manager’s head tilted slightly. “Hundred Years Old Blood Ginseng?”
When the treasure house manager heard this, his lips turned. He pointed his forefinger towards Ye Xuan and scolded him for his otherwise lack of behavior. “You think you’re still the number one genius in our Ye Clan? Such a precious thing like that Hundred Years Old Blood Ginseng, it’d be a waste if it were used on a crippled waste like you! Go away!”
“You…” Ye Xuan’s teeth gnashed. “The Patriarch said I could obtain a stalk of the Hundred Years Old Blood Ginseng each month.”
“Patriarch?” The treasure house manager crossed his arms and exuded a haughty air. “Heh! The Patriarch sent out an order yesterday. You can’t take it now.”
“I can’t?” Ye Xuan’s heart grew cold.
The Patriarch the treasure house’s manager spoke of was the unlucky b.a.s.t.a.r.d’s one and only uncle.
When his cultivation remained full and vigorous earlier, he recalled his uncle doting on him lovingly while he nurtured him with utmost care. Each month, his uncle allowed Ye Xuan to grab a stalk of the Hundred Years Old Ginseng to strengthen his spirit energy, origin blood, and physical const.i.tution.
“You can’t have one anymore! Who knows when you’ll commit suicide. Maybe it’ll be tomorrow!” The treasure house’s manager said coldly.
“You…” Ye Xuan’s bottled anger rose slightly.
He recalled the time when the treasure house’s manager spoke to him respectfully with his head bowed deeply. Someone of his lowly existence dared not meet Ye Xuan’s eyes, but now, he had the gall to look down on him with such haughtiness?
“You what…?! This is the rule! Quickly leave!” The treasure house’s manager waved his hand and dismissed him .
“Don’t you have a Spirit Increasing Pill? As long as you are a child of the Ye Clan, regardless of one’s cultivation level, they can receive three Spirit Increasing Pills every month,” Ye Xuan quickly blurted out seemingly remembering Ye Clan’s law.
“To think you still remember this, but unfortunately, the Patriarch gave us an order. Right now, you can’t accept even one Spirit Strengthening Pill!” He snorted coldly.
“What? Not even a single one…?”
