Chapter 649: Peac.o.c.k Blue’s Promotion
Once the rumbling beneath the alloy dome subsided, Xia Fei looked in a daze at the two bizarre objects tied around his arm.
Peac.o.c.k Blue’s form had completely changed. It was still blue, but its blades of gra.s.s had become much thinner and were now covered in thorns. Compared to the blades of gra.s.s from before, they were now much heavier, yet they were as agile as ever. No matter what Xia Fei had them do, they would quickly respond.
“I told you not to use that weird law, but you didn’t listen. Look at what happened! Peac.o.c.k Blue is no longer like a weed, but like a…”
“Like a weapon,” Xia Fei sternly said.
Oro hesitated for a while as he tried to find the right word. In the end, it was Xia Fei’s words that reminded him again!
Yes, Peac.o.c.k Blue had left the domain of plants and was getting closer to the domain of weapons. Its strength and agility had both been boosted, and it possessed a sharpness it had not had before. Those hooked thorns could tear away large chunks of flesh from the opponent if they snagged on!
The rare and valuable Peac.o.c.k Blue had evolved, but that stubborn nature was still there.
After a long daze, Oro pensively said, “Now that you mention it, Peac.o.c.k Blue really is more like a weapon. It’s like two lethal whips.”
Xia Fei added, “And it’s also poisonous.”
The dome fell silent. Not that it was bad for Peac.o.c.k Blue to become closer to a weapon, they just were not that used to its new appearance.
“Could this be a possibility? Once the nature-type Immemorial Mystical Armaments are merged, they will ultimately become weapons carrying the five great attributes. While Peac.o.c.k Blue was strong in the past, it appeared like a plant and wasn’t as savage-looking as it is now,” Xia Fei said as he pondered.
He was this sort of unconventional thinker who believed that anything in the universe was possible.
Oro was about to argue but stopped. He realized that he had no basis with which to argue against Xia Fei. After all, no one had seen the ultimate form of all of the Immemorial Mystical Armaments fused together, and he could see with his two eyes that Peac.o.c.k Blue seemed more like a weapon now.
‘Is it really as Xia Fei said? The Immemorial Mystical Armaments require fusion to be used?’ Oro asked himself.
Could the series of seven plant Immemorial Mystical Armaments combine into one weapon? Just the mere thought of this caused him to be fascinated.
At this moment, Xia Fei suddenly took off Edgeless and rolled up his sleeves.
A new blade of gra.s.s slowly began to sprout, ultimately becoming a third blade of gra.s.s, exactly like the other two!
“It promoted! Peac.o.c.k Blue has grown out its third blade of gra.s.s!” Oro said in shock.
The intense battle had hastened Peac.o.c.k Blue’s maturation, and now, three of the thirteen blades of gra.s.s had grown out! It was yet another step closer to exhibiting its full strength!
While it was just one blade of gra.s.s, this was a big step for Peac.o.c.k Blue! After all, Peac.o.c.k Blue had merged with another Immemorial Mystical Armament and was also merged with the Peac.o.c.k Blue, creating a completely new kind of Immemorial Mystical Armament!
This was undoubtedly an unprecedented feat, for not even the ancients had known about the Law of Primal Chaos!
“Xia Fei, when are you going to tell what that law is?! It’s too heaven-defying!” Oro very seriously said.
…
Xia Fei naturally had to keep such an important and heaven-defying law a secret. Besides him and Phantom, no one else could know about it, so Xia Fei naturally ignored Lionheart King Oro’s question.
However, Xia Fei had begun to wonder. The Law of Primal Chaos of the Black and White G.o.ds was so wondrous, so why did the Law Realm know nothing about it?
Alas, Xia Fei had yet to interact with the two peak races, so he was unable to find an answer in the meantime. He could only continue keeping this secret and remaining in his confusion.
With Nine Night Plum subdued and Peac.o.c.k Blue sporting a new blade of gra.s.s, Xia Fei was in a great mood. He went to the dining room and had fifteen bowls of fried paste noodles. Avril kept him company and ate a little, but it seemed like no one enjoyed this simple food as pa.s.sionately as Xia Fei.
After the last cuc.u.mber slice entered Xia Fei’s tummy, he smiled in satisfaction. Taking the Maofeng tea offered by Avril, he drank three cups and then shouted in satisfaction.
“It seems like you’re really in love with the food; with the way you ate, it’s as if you’ve been starved for a week.” Avril propped up her chin on her hands and looked in a daze at Xia Fei. The sight of this man wolfing down zhajiang noodles always made Avril happy, and to her, watching Xia Fei eat was a rather enjoyable experience. Even though Avril usually ate little, she felt like she had more appet.i.te today after watching this, so she also ate some more.
They whispered sweet nothings to each other, and then Xia Fei returned to the cultivation chamber while Avril went to work on her Law of Life. However, she still had no idea what she was working on every day. Out of her trust for Xia Fei, she did not even ask any questions and simply buried herself in her training.
Every day, besides his cultivation, Xia Fei would use four hours to study combat techniques. Oro had told him to bring back nearly one hundred combat techniques, and anyone would feel pressured by so much work.
When cultivating the Law of Primal Chaos, Xia Fei would close his spatial ring to prevent Oro from peeping.
When he was done with his regular training, Xia Fei would let out Oro and say, “You’re the one who had me bring back so many combat techniques, so you decide which one I should train first. I can’t be bothered to pick.”
Oro casually said, “Start with the Golden Sand Dance. As an improved version of the Chain Blockade, it shouldn’t be too difficult for you to learn. Tomorrow, I’ll test you on your progress.”
Oro then relayed several important points to keep in mind when learning new combat techniques; after which, he requested to return to the ring. Rather than giving personal guidance, he wanted Xia Fei to explore the difficult points of the Golden Sand Dance on his own.
Xia Fei opened up the book recording the technique and started from the first level. As an upgraded version of another technique, Golden Sand Dance had nine levels, and once it was done, dragons would dance in the nine heavens, a vast storm engulfing the surrounding twenty kilometers. One should understand that this was a storm which used the Law of s.p.a.ce as its base and was infused with spatial explosions and spatial tearing force. If used on an army of tens of thousands of soldiers, it would probably leave nothing behind. It was an immense power that could shake the world!
Xia Fei already had Chain Blockade as a foundation, so cultivating this technique was not hard. His advancement speed could be described as supersonic!
Four hours quickly went by, and it was about time for Xia Fei to rest. Sixteen hours a day were devoted to cultivation and four hours were allotted to spending time with his beloved Avril. Xia Fei gave only four hours for himself to rest.
“Forget it. I’ll skip sleep today,” Xia Fei muttered to himself as he held a grade 4 Origin Crystal in his hand to recover energy.
Xia Fei had an astonis.h.i.+ng vigor, and to him, not sleeping was not a big deal. He had even fought a battle for dozens of days without sleep or rest once or twice, and going without rest for a few days was quite normal. Besides, the strength and focus consumed by cultivation were far less than that consumed by battle.
The next day, Oro was released from the spatial ring. Folding his arms, he laughed and said, “So how far have you gotten in the Golden Sand Dance?”
“I would have to find some open ground first,” Xia Fei said.
Oro nonchalantly said, “This large-scale cultivation chamber has a breadth of five kilometers. Is that not enough?”
Xia Fei smiled. “No, far from enough.”
Oro was startled. He had looked through the Golden Sand Dance. At level 5 and above, it was capable of overwhelming this cultivation chamber, which had a breadth of five kilometers and a height of three hundred meters.
‘Did Xia Fei manage to break through level 5 in the s.p.a.ce of a single night?!’ Oro wondered in shock.
…
On the outskirts of the Metal City, Xia Fei lightly raised his wrist, and a hurricane manifested!
Nine hurricanes descended from the heavens! They took up the surrounding twenty-some kilometers, crus.h.i.+ng across the landscape like roller-compactors! Flattening everything in their path!
The ground shattered! The sky became oppressively dark!
It had taken one-hundredth of a second for this frightening storm to manifest!
Different from Chain Blockade, countless explosions like innumerable booms of thunder resounded within this Law of s.p.a.ce storm. In the eye of this storm were numerous white points of light. These were points of chaos created by the law force moving at absurd speeds.
If this same storm was unleashed in an ocean, it would suck up vast quant.i.ties of water. In a desert, it would sweep up tough pieces of stone. At the same windspeeds, it would naturally be the sandstorm that was more lethal!
The Golden Sand Dance and the Chain Blockade had the same origin, but the chain reaction caused by the Golden Sand Dance was more powerful. This is what allowed it to be called an upgraded version and to be of a higher level.
“You’ve learned all nine levels of the Golden Sand Dance?” Oro tilted his head and asked. He did his utmost to hide the shock in his heart.
“Mm.” Xia Fei lit a cigarette and coolly replied.
Oro’s heart began to beat faster. He knew the difficulty level of this combat technique, and even if Xia Fei had the Chain Blockade as a base, it should have been nigh impossible for him to learn all nine levels in one night!
However, Xia Fei had completed this nearly impossible mission!
Oro had no idea how to describe Xia Fei’s cultivation speed!
Was this a genius?
No, this was a supergenius!
Oro dryly coughed as he continued restraining his shock. “You’ve made good progress. I presume that you practiced extra yesterday?”
Xia Fei merely nodded.
Oro loudly laughed, telling himself, ‘I just knew that you practiced extra. Otherwise, there’s no way you would have been able to progress this quickly!’
“How much longer did you train for?” Oro sternly asked.
“Two hours,” Xia Fei confessed.
Oro’s face turned helpless. Four hours plus two was only six hours. Xia Fei needed to spend only this little time on a Tier 5 combat technique! He was advancing one level on average every forty minutes. What was there to say? This was a little too fast!
“I guess that’s good enough,” Oro lied. In order for Xia Fei not to be too proud, he decided to take the wind out of his sails.
“Golden Sand Dance shares the same roots as the Chain Blockade, so it’s quite normal for you to advance this quickly. Learn ‘Concealed Flash Dragon’ next. This technique is very useful against Law of Matter users. I will see how you’ve progressed in three days,” Oro said.
He once more gave a few pointers. Oro was determined not to personally guide Xia Fei, for he wanted to see the fullness of his potential and find out where his bursting point was.
At this time, two figures flew over from a distance.
When he saw who they were, Xia Fei burst out in laughter. “I almost didn’t recognize you two! How did the two of you turn out like this in the span of these last few days?”
