“Wei Shi!”
The crew quickly sent the microphone over.
The man was seated at the bottom edge of the stage and wasn’t conspicuous at all in the dim lighting, but when he stood up, he was tall and powerful, and adding on his indifferent expression, it soon caused a stir of whispers among the female players.
The microphone hadn’t been turned on yet, and the crew stumbled over to stop Wei Shi, lowering their voice so that they couldn’t be overheard, “No! The rules don’t allow… Nonono, you can’t choose a Crosson trainee, you can only pick from Hyacinth… Contestant Wei, Brother, Brother Wei, don’t be rash!”
Wei Shi grunted in acknowledgement.
The field crew quivered as they finally handed over the microphone.
The program producer smiled like a fox and asked, “Have you decided? Who will Contestant Wei pick?”
Wei Shi’s tone was indifferent, “Azure People’s Entertainment’s trainee, Miss Vera.”
There was silence at the scene.
“The same one? The same one as Little Witch?” There was a cackle as Ying Xiangxiang, who was seated with the audience, suddenly sent the melon seeds flying, “Love rivals, the first pair of love rivals has come into being!”
Ying Xiangxiang’s face was filled with the delight that came from indulging in gossip. She seemed to be watching a play and also seemed to be able to see through to the souls of the players partic.i.p.ating in the play.
Blood Pigeon nodded, “It is the same person. According to the rules of the game––”
On the stage, the program producer was very excited and slapped the table.
“Good, good, good! Love rivals, love rivals have to duel!”
Off-stage, the Wu Jin processor suddenly crashed.
The Crosson Show’s live stream room.
The audience, who were closely following the live broadcast, were almost boiling over with excitement. At this time, the channel was filled with loyal fans from both survival shows, Crosson and Hyacinth. The scene was extremely chaotic.
“Hoooly s.h.i.t!”
“G.o.ddess Vera is the epitome of beauty! The ultimate Mary Sue ahhhh!! Full of praises for my G.o.ddess––”
“This is based off of the script of <499 trainees confessed to me after I partic.i.p.ated in the Crosson Show> right? Generally, choosing teammates doesn’t go like this… the 2nd and 5th place contestants both chose Vera at the same time!”
“Wake up, wake up, can your epitome of beauty be more beautiful than Little Witch?? Why do I feel like Brother Wei is waiting for a chance at revenge––”
“Go, Contestant Wei––take home the disobedient Little Witch––have Little Witch birth your monkeys––Mama will help you guys lock the door, so that Little Witch can’t get out––”
“?? What the h.e.l.l is going on upstairs?” Hyacinth Show’s straight male fans were all confused.
“They mean that the Scarf CP is locked in! They can’t be broken up anymore!!”
On the stage, the program producer announced the rules of the duel, “The duel between Contestant Wu and Contestant Wei is set for 8 o’clock tomorrow evening. After the duel, Miss Vera can choose either the winner or the loser as a teammate…”
Wu Jin was going crazy, “Di-director, then what’s the significance of this duel?!”
Program producer: “For the audience ratings!”
The program producer went on to say, “… In the middle ages, knight duels were famous for the bravery and romance they signified. Additionally, duels also appeared in the , , and other books..”
A scrolling comment floated by, “Protesting! This isn’t a heroic duel, this is an internal battle for love! I reject domestic violence!”
The program producer ignored it, “k2026; No matter which side Miss Vera chooses in the end, another knight can also come and take away our White Rose at any time during the compet.i.tion. Of course, the White Rose can also withdraw from the team and select another knightk2026;”
The crowd of trainees were left in a daze, “Director, then what’s the point in forming a team?!”
The program producer knocked on the table, “Forming a team isn’t like making an oath! During the Middle Ages in Western Europe, most knights had lovers outside of marriage! Why was this the case? If you think about it carefully, a lady can be flattered by the romance of it, a husband can receive indirect praise, and a knight’s chivalrous reputation can spread far and wide! Everyone wins! Alright, alright, the three of you can go discuss the roles!”
Wu Jin choked. Wait a minute, was this compet.i.tion some sort of big NTR game––
After the program producer finished reading the name list, a cold gaze swept over from the distance.
“!!!” Wu Jin was eager for survival, “Brother Zoe, I, I’m going out for a bit!”
Zoe: “Little Witch, aren’t you coming to eat with us? Or are you going to find the White Rose?”
Wu Jin: “Nonono!”
Yet, by the time he squeezed out of the crowd, the big boss had already disappeared.
Caesar shouted from behind, “Little Witch, are you coming or not? The White Rose has already left!”
Wu Jin trembled as he turned around, “No need. Just save me some rice. I, ah, need to learn more about tomorrow’s duel…”
Caesar waved his meaty hand, “Alright, Little Witch, you can do it! You’re the fattest!”
There was no day or night in the training room.
Wu Jin held up the sword and adjusted his own posture round after round according to the videos––strictly speaking, it wasn’t training, but more of a dying struggle.
Close combat had always been Wu Jin’s weakness. Even if it wasn’t for the sake of the duel, it would come in handy later in the game.
In any case, there was no way he could win the duel. Wu Jin soon lost himself in training.
The cleaning robot took away Wu Jin’s flattened lunchbox, then poked its head back in six hours later before going back to its spot in a daze.
Wu Jin was still in the training room.
It wasn’t until the sky had turned dark that Wu Jin took a post-battle bath, ran to the canteen following the street lamps, and devoured dinner in the last ten minutes.
On the way back to the training room, he encountered a group of rosy-cheeked female trainees as they slowly took a walk around. It seemed that they’d just returned from the mask party, and they smiled and greeted Wu Jin when they saw him.
Wu Jin greeted them politely.
A few more street lamps later, Wu Jin once again ran into the White Rose Vera.
The Hyacinth G.o.ddess parted her lips gently and asked Wu Jin where his training room was. Wu Jin thought that the G.o.ddess was looking for the shooting range, and thoughtfully sent her a map of the Crosson base…
Vera explained kindly, “I made extra soup this evening. I’ll bring you some later.”
Wu Jin: “!!!”
This G.o.ddess was so nice…
Wait a minute, how did she cook the soup! Wasn’t there a limit on the power used in the Crosson dorms… and where did she get the pot from?!
Vera nodded lightly to him and parted ways with Wu Jin.
Then, she stood there beneath the silent street lamps and pulled out her terminal.
She logged on to her Star Blog alt account as usual and finished going through Hyacinth’s trending topics for the day, giving ‘likes’ to everything related to the ‘White Rose’. Some fans had been very quick about making images, and over the course of dinner, they’d cut down all the interaction between the White and Red Roses frame by frame, only fixing up the White Rose and ignoring the Red Rose.
Vera’s gaze was satisfied. She left a message with her fan support group and wrote 200 words of exaggerated praise.
After that, she logged into her other alt account.
“Little Witch aaaahhhhh!! Mama came to see you––!!!”
“A casual screenshot still makes you look so beautiful ahhhh!! There’s no need to fix up the image at all!!! Little Witch needs no fixing 1551!! My son, quickly let your mama hold you! Prprprpr~”
“My son, you made such a great choice! Cheering for you for tomorrow’s duel! Gogogo!”
“Contestant Wei is too evil! Watch as Mama beats him up for you! [Fist][Fist][Fist][Hmph]”
Finally, she shut down the terminal.
Nine o’clock in the evening.
In the North Tower of the twin towers, Wu Jin was trying to wield the sword and execute a chop.
The door to the training room opened suddenly.
A slender shadow extended against the light. Wu Jin reacted, his pupils turning bright as he made to throw aside the sword––
“Continue.” The big boss who’d disappeared for the whole day spoke coldly.
Wu Jin quickly held tight to the sword he’d originally had in a loose grip.
The man walked behind him, and Wu Jin secretly swallowed hard.
Wei Shi reached out and helped him adjust his sword holding posture.
His breath brushed against the side of the youth’s neck.
The big boss’s index finger slid along Wu Jin’s fingertips, and the cross-shaped hilt in his palm seemed to have been ignited, heating up from the teasing touch. His shoulders, arms, and waist all trembled slightly under the onslaught of the familiar pheromones, and the small, soft curls quivered.
He raised his head and met with the big boss’s blank expression.
“!!!” Wu Jin hurriedly explained himself.
After Wu Jin finished his chattering explanation, Wei Shi responded, “Oh.”
Wu Jin became even more nervous. What did ‘oh’ mean?
He spoke up tentatively, “Tomorrow’s duel…”
Big boss: “Two options.”
Wu Jin’s ears perked up.
Big boss: “Beat me, or––”
Wu Jin waited obediently for the second option.
Wei Shi: “Please me.”
The youth fell into a daze.
He looked up in confusion. The big boss stood with his arms crossed, using his gaze to indicate that Wu Jin should take the initiative.
The entire training room was decorated like a medieval castle in preparation for the fifth elimination match. The man stood with his back to the armor, swords, and fireplace by the wall.
If cold steel weapons were a man’s romantic dream, then the strong smell of metallic rust mixed with the nutty, warm sunshine smell of his lover close by was easily able to spark the youth’s arousal.
A faint light flashed across the big boss’s eyes.
This Wei Shi was as different as heaven and h.e.l.l from the little Angel Wei Shi on the voting page.
Like Satan tempting one towards their downfall.
Wu Jin’s throat shifted.
His thoughts were confused, his spirit seemed to have floated away from his body, and he tried to hold back.
But he finally couldn’t help himself––
The youth pounced over with a cry.
Wei Shi’s gaze was bottomless and dark. He lifted his left hand, rubbing it against Wu Jin’s fragile carotid artery, covering the spot with the missing tooth marks. The youth gnawed at him in a messy fashion and stopped just short of covering him with saliva––
Wei Shi moved and trapped him up against the wall.
Armor rattled and clanged as it was knocked about
The two of them were very close to the fireplace, and the flames that shot up reflected in their eyes. Wei Shi set the tone, then gave up the initiative and enjoyed the willing sacrifice and offerings from his prey––
The door was pushed open again.
There was a crash.
Standing at the door was the Hyacinth Show’s White Rose Vera. She stumbled and almost dropped the soup.
And glared angrily at Wei Shi.
Then quivered as she looked over at the actively kissing Wu Jin.
Wu Jin stared back foolishly.
The White Rose took a deep breath and said righteously, “Little Witch, you… if you’re being controlled, just blink.”
Juurensha: Hohohohoh, Vera was the first one to find out! Maybe she’ll be okay with it? She is a Little Witch Mama fan.
xiin: lots of comments recently about Wu Jin’s ‘lack of choice’..
this round was always meant to be guy + girl pairings for the show since they’re collaborating with a female survival show. the choices that Zoe gave Wu Jin (even though he didn’t explain it properly) were basically between a ‘girl A’ and ‘girl B’. the voting page cuteness was really just for the program to sell rot (and make $$), but they were never going to actually get paired up for this match…? and from Zoe’s perspective, Little Witch knows nothing about anyone from Hyacinth, so would it have mattered if he’d explained further? there’s also the part where Zoe had *just* asked him about whether or not he wanted his public account managed himself or by the company…
tldr; i’m not sure what i’m misunderstanding here that’s making you all hate this part so much @[email protected]
