Chapter 195: Warmongering Wind of Khalodian (3)
-War!-
-Count Khalodian has declared war!-
-The n.o.bles framed him!-
-It’s a war for the mines!-
-The king wants his wife!-
Various rumors were spread, with some very accurate speculations and others not as much. They spread through the continent, making all parts of the world turn their attention to the Torian Kingdom.
“Dammit! These fools!”
Jackson slammed the table as he stared at the map of the continent. He was rarely enraged or shocked, so Joonb.u.m looked at him in surprise.
“I’m sorry, sir.”
Jackson quickly bowed to Joonb.u.m apologetically, but he still seemed very angry.
“I understand.”
Jackson tried his best to buy them more time to prepare for everything. He knew he couldn’t stop the spreading of news about the city, but he hoped to prepare while the other countries worked to survive through the crisis. However, the discovery of the mines changed everything. It meant too much. Unlike the corn that neighboring countries didn’t expect at the beginning, the iron mines were a valuable a.s.set that everyone wanted.
‘I expected it to be easier with the mines, but it only made things worse,’ Joonb.u.m thought as he remembered how happy the both of them were at the discovery of the mines. He understood why the king and other n.o.bles had to react to the news.
“This will change everything. We need to change our plans, sir.”
“Yeah. We will be attacked from all sides if we don’t prepare.”
Jinpok answered Jackson. It was very dangerous as the other neighboring countries now turned their attention to Khalodian land, where there was a goose that laid golden eggs.
“They will wait for us to be worn out.”
“Yes. I’m sure some will be waiting for the Torian Kingdom to fall apart.”
Jackson pointed to the neighboring countries on the map. These were mostly those who couldn’t recover from past disasters.
‘There’s no choice.’
Joonb.u.m turned to Jinpok.
“Have you gotten used to it now?”
“Oh, yeah. It was fun, but I don’t like the waiting part.”
Jinpok grinned.
“We will get the leaders.”
“Yeah. Kill the heads and rest of the army will be ours. We’ll do that for all who come. It’s going to be a piece of cake to rule the world at this pace!”
Jinpok grinned as he thought about the plan. But Jackson, Hectos, and the other advisors were dumbfounded.
“What? We are talking about the war… we can’t underestimate…”
A young man who was mumbling was stopped by Jinpok. He made a gesture with his thumb across the throat and said, “What do you think will happen if we kill their commanders? They will be in disarray. Then, we go in there, threaten them, and persuade them to join us. They’re not that loyal to the king anyway! No one will refuse when we’ll let them live, feed them, and give them houses. You know? Then all the army is ours. It’s so easy! The more that come, the more armies we get.”
Jinpok gave his crude explanation, but everyone understood.
‘I should utilize the Ainos sniper squads to destroy the command infrastructures.’
Joonb.u.m began making up a plan. It was hard for one or two snipers to kill all the enemy commanders. But if they used hundreds of snipers, it would completely wipe out all the n.o.bles and knights within the enemy army. Joonb.u.m’s eyes grew cold.
“Jackson, prepare for the war. We will accept any soldiers that surrender. Prepare an area where they can settle and live.”
Jackson couldn’t answer right away. He was dumbfounded by the war plans being changed to taking in surrendering soldiers.
