Chapter 284: Over the sea (1)
-I want to be rich so my father doesn’t have to worry about money.-
That was her answer when she was asked why she wanted to become a merchant. Most daughters of n.o.bles only dreamed of getting married to a wealthy family or a rich merchant with no choice of their own. But with the Khalodian Empire, the world changed, and so did she.
‘The emperor made n.o.bility to fall, but he gave the next generation a chance to spread their wings and live their own lives…!’
Colec Entro thought as he stared at his secretary in a daze.
“Boss? What are you thinking about? You’re smiling like a perv.”
Dnes snapped at Colec who had a creepy smile on his face.
“What?”
“Don’t tell me you want to…”
“Shut up! Get back to your work. Work! Work!”
“Haha, okay boss.”
And they got back to their work to continue the excavations.
“I-it looks like an aircraft carrier!”
A seagull dove down into the sea and captured a fish. Unlike the past, most fish had grown to the average length of a meter, and on average seagulls now had a fifteen-meter wingspan.
“Incoming!”
Because of their size, seagulls did not hesitate to attack humans. Guns fired and the seagull dropped to the ground with a hole in its head. Since it was still viciously struggling, it required a few more shots to finally put it down.
“It is terrifying.”
Arwen then turned back to the sea, as did Gedenkroy, the young chieftain of the Magnos. Arwen, son of Howen, was the new leader of the Ainos Guard.
“So, is that an aircraft carrier?”
“Yes. That is one of the aircraft carriers from the United States of America. Why is it here…?”
Colonel Kim Hyukjoo was confused as he checked through his binoculars.
“The United States? The strongest country in the world?” Gedenkroy mumbled. He had obtained this through the various information that Joonb.u.m shared in the past.
“An aircraft carrier is like an island in its own right.”
“Yeah, Arwen. I heard people can stay on the s.h.i.+p for tens of years.”
“Is it abandoned?”
“I think it is.”
The discovery of an aircraft carrier was like a goldmine. If it had everything in it intact, then it would be an amazing bonus.
‘If we can use it, we can sail around the entire Earth.’
“Call headquarters, we need a scout team!”
“Yes, sir!”
Hectos, the commander of the Southern army, guessed, “I think the seagulls have taken it as their nest.”
“Then we’ll get rid of them.”
The height and sheer size of the aircraft carrier must have been a good choice for the seagulls to use it as their nest.
“We have fis.h.i.+ng boats here but most of them are damaged. There are none that we can use.”
“Can we fix them?”
“I think we have a few that we can salvage, sir.”
The scout team arrived while they were planning everything. It consisted of about five hundred people, but that wasn’t a lot considering that they had to go up on the deck to fight monster seagulls.
“Launch the boats!”
They began preparing rubber boats. Those were uncovered from the destroyed caves.
“Let’s go!”
Hectos rose up and Arwen and Gedenkroy made their way to the boats.
Eighty boats began moving towards the aircraft carrier and seagulls began aggressively flying over them. Guns were fired and seagulls began to drop into the sea.
