Chapter 304: Survivors of the Labyrinth (3)
“Hey! Move out of the way!”
“To the right!”
The carts moved through quickly as well as the heavy machines.
“Whoa, look at that.”
As they exited the cave, the Khalodian Army was building up a fortress right in front of the cave entrance where the goblin fortress used to be.
“That was quick.”
“Yes, of course. We are always quick! Hahaha!”
A Magnos laughed heartily as he walked over to Jinpok. It was Colonel Grat.
“It looks crude, but it’s about 90% finished. We just need to finish up the interior and outer wall, and it will be done.”
“Good! Hey Grat, why don’t we…”
Jinpok made a drinking gesture and Grat laughed harder.
“Of course, Commander! Oh, and I found that thing you mentioned.”
“That?”
Joonb.u.m became curious, but Jinpok exclaimed in shock, “Chamisul?!”
“Yeah. A full box.”
“d.a.m.n, that’s awesome!”
Jinpok had been looking for soju ever since they came back to Earth. It wasn’t a good quality liquor, but Jinpok felt nostalgic about it and he always wanted to find some.
“Hey, why don’t you join in?”
Joonb.u.m nodded, followed by Doral.
“I’ll join in too. I drank that a long time ago. I miss it.”
That’s when a familiar face came up to them.
“Your Majesty, welcome back.”
“Yes.”
It was Duval. He saluted Jinpok and Doral before continuing, “The goblin emissaries have arrived inside the fortress.”
“Goblin emissaries? That’s absurd. I’m out.”
Jinpok shook his head and walked away with Grat. Joonb.u.m too shared a similar feeling with Jinpok since he didn’t like the idea of talking with goblins. After all, they were monsters who ate humans. However, Khalodian’s war tacticians thought differently. Khalodian had achieved great victory on the Korean peninsula, but they were far from finished. And with the gate closed and with no way to return, the continued loss of resources and men were not a good thing. That’s when people came up with the idea of making peace with goblins.
After investigations, goblins mostly ruled these vast lands. There were only a handful of human survivors.
“Duval, what do they want?” Joonb.u.m asked.
“They want weapons, armor, and supplies.”
“I see.”
Joonb.u.m scratched his chin.
“It is as expected, Your Majesty. There are more powerful monsters out there. It is natural that the goblins want more weapons to protect themselves against other monsters.”
“What kind of weapons do they want?”
“They mostly want swords, spears, bows, guns, and other firearms that we have. They also want various armor and s.h.i.+elds, but their list is increasing. They don’t know when to stop.”
Duval didn’t seem to like it either.
“So, how are we going to respond to them?”
“It is up to you, Your Majesty.”
It was an important moment.
“Let’s provide them with swords, spears, bows, and other primitive types of cold weapons. And leather armor. That will be it. Oh, and add basic first aid kits and supplies. Are there other things that we have in mind?”
Duval bowed, “Our people are providing them with liquor and cigarettes at the moment.”
“Hmm.” Joonb.u.m then asked again, “Let me see. Are we sending them drugs after that?”
Duval looked at Joonb.u.m in silence and nodded.
“Your Majesty, goblins pose great danger. Our investigative team reports that their danger level is at the SSSSS rank.”
“Are they really that dangerous?”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Even Kong and the dragons were only ranked SSS.
“Goblins are not powerful, but the problem is their intelligence. They are evolving at a terrifying speed. It has been only twenty years since they appeared, but they already have created a vast network and are using human language to communicate. This poses a serious threat. Soon, goblins will rule this world.”
Joonb.u.m thought for a second and nodded.
“I approve.”
“Thank you.”
“I will hand over authority of negotiating with the goblins to you.”
Duval then backed away.
