In the depths of the abyss known as Simon"s heart, laid a flicker of light. The light had embedded itself in an almost immovable position, radiating a dim yet powerful light in the every expanding darkness. No doubt, Simon had grown to become less of an accomodating person, as well as becoming a much more ruthless one. He had simply lost too much of what made him human. In a world where he knows that he is much more, how can he be human? Humanity may have just been a single race in a mult.i.tude of his existences, spanning a Millenia.

With that knowledge, he began to view others with indifference. He kept his friends and family close, but would not so much as frown at the erasing of others. He knew that they bore no importance in the grand fugue known as life. There are louder voices, and those voices will be the musicians. The instruments can play and play, but a broken instrument will be replaced, The musician cannot.

In such a way, reality had entered his gaze. The only exception are those that hold some importance to him, for he would not leave them in the dust. In all actuality, he felt more like a father than a brother.

"Jaz, have you completed your daily exercises?" Simon asked with a tinge of tiredness. With his brother now confirmed to be okay, Simon had decided to train him so that he may not end up in the same disastrous position as the last incident. This of course involved hard work and commitment.

"Brother...! I have completed the ten thousand Sword swings!" Jazukal announced with a mix of intense pa.s.sion and pride.

CLANG

The impact of a solitary dagger resounded across Jazukal"s blade, knocking him and his weapon towards the end of the courtyard that they occupied.

"Your balance is too weak. Remember that your foundations are the key to your survival, that is why you swing your sword like this. Your stance is what gives you balance and what supports your thrusts."

"Brother, How powerful are you?" Jazukal asked.

Simon glanced in response and smiled.

"A Diva is nothing." Without so much as a measurement, Simon made his point.

"I will show you a fraction of my strength."

Simon summoned forth a static bolt of lightning, so bright that it could blind an ordinary individual. He did this like it was nothing. With his index finger pointing towards a wall, he smiled.

ZZZAAAAAAPPP

The wall shattered in response, sending a cloud of fine powder in all directions. The smell of burnt metal and melted stone could be smelt from any location, as if there had been an arson.

Jazukal stood speechless at his brother"s power, but regained his composure soon after; not wis.h.i.+ng to look weak in front of his dear brother.

"With that...could you kill the Blood Monarch?" He asked.

"Maybe." Simon replied with a soft grin.

"But of course this would be heresy, so do not ponder on this line of thinking too much. Lest you desire for your dear brother to end up like an ash pile."

Simon suddenly clicked his fingers and recalled something.

"Jaz, would you like to meet your sister in law?" Simon asked with a cheerful smile.

"Sister- IN LAW?! Brother! How can you be married before the ad-" Before Jazukal could say another word, Simon pushed his palm over Jazukal"s mouth and shushed him.

"Shush. Many things are possible, even things that one does not necessarily desire. However, it is best not to dwell on negativity too often." Simon spoke as he sighed a breath of bitterness.

"What do you mean?"

"You will see when we arrive. Just let me acquire a leave of absence for both of us. It should not take more than five minutes, just wait by the main entrance of the academy."

Five minutes later, Simon and Jazukal left the academy gates and entered a courtyard with a strange obelisk-like structure in the middle of it. Jazukal briefly stopped to take a look at it and find out what it is, but Simon pointed his index finger at it and it came to life.

"Walk in." Simon spoke calmly as he disappeared in a flash of light. Jazukal of course followed and was transported to the courtyard of a huge palace. The palace seemed so regal that even a Diva could not afford it. Just looking at it made him curious about who his brother had married.

"If you are wondering, I this is the abode of my wife. You may know her t.i.tle, or you may not; if so, you are an idiot. Welcome to The Blood Monarch"s palace." Simon said without a care in the world.

"..."

"Brother... how did this happen....?"

Simon looked back to Jazukal and chuckled. "You will find out in 3 years what happens between a man and a woman."

"However, I do hope that your first time will be joyful and a night to remember with pride. But of course, that is not alway the case." Simon continued on as he walked over to the front steps of the palace, closely followed by Jazukal.

"I bet that you are feeling very confused today. One second you are training, the next, you are about to enter the Blood Monarch"s palace. Well I am sad to say there is no cure for that, if there were, I would have used it." Simon teasingly spoke.

"Brother, why are you bringing me here?"

Simon stopped for a moment and looked blankly forward.

"You need to fight opponents closer to your level."
