I looked at Hagrid right in the eyes and said to him in a serious, business like tone, "You got yourself a deal." And with that, I stuck out my hand for him to shake on it, so that the deal could be sealed.Hagrid glanced down at my stuck out right hand for a single moment, and understood my meaning in a flash. He stuck out his own hand, and wrapped it around mine, staring at me, right in the eyes as he did, with a serious look in his eyes as well. His hold was sort of tightly, or maybe this was just the weakest setting for his grips, and I am just so weak, when compared to him, that it felt strong and soul crushing.
What ever setting his grip was at, I did not want to experience it any longer. I quickly loosened my hand from him, signaling from him to let go, and he did at once. I immediately placed my hand at my hip with my left elbow covering it, so that Hagrid could not notice that my hand was slightly aching.
Like I said before, you do not want to show any weakness before anyone. A good lesson that those devilish, twin, red heads taught me, well.
Hagrid spoke up, and from his tone and address, he must have had no clue of the slight discomfort his monotonous grip had caused me. "Well now, why don"t yeh take it out, them phoenix teardrops, you know, so that we can ge" this trade on the way?"
"Sure, sure.." I said as cracked my fingers then reached into my many pockets in my robe. There in my left, inter chest, I reached in and took out the flask that Professor Dumbledore gave me, which contained the phoenix teardrops.
I put it back into my pocket to act as some sort of safety, since you may never know what people could do for wealth and treasures. I know for sure that Hagrid would never, ever, do something dishonest so that he could get his hands on something he wants. It is not in the nature of the half giant to do anything sinful or evil, it is just who he is, and I respect him for that.
But my nature is not that virtuous as Hagrid"s, so it is just a force habit for me to guard and protect my stuff, either offhandedly or subconsciously by my mind. And that is because I do not see the world as black or white like Hagrid"s does.
I am not saying there is anything wrong with that, nor am I saying it is a good thing. That view of the world has its own merits and drawback just like my view has its own merits and drawback.
It nice to look at people in a simple and pure light. My view, on the other hand, get me looking for the worst in people, and that makes me end up with me always looking behind my back. But if you expect the worst, it would not be a surprise when it does happen.

Anyways I handed over the flask to Hagrid and said to him, "Do you have another flask laying around in your place? We do need to split what is inside." I pause for a moment into my ranting when I saw a serious look of concentration on Hagrid"s face.
Why is he looking at the flask in consumption, I thought to myself in confusion and a hint of worry. I cleared my throat and tried to get to Hagrid by saying, "Did you hear what I said, Hagrid?" Ah... Hagrid?"
The half giant did not respond to my inquiry at all, he still had that constipated look on his face. You know what forget it, I thought, let me just take back my stuff from him since he is so busy staring off into s.p.a.ce, and ignoring me.
I was about to speak up or just take back my flask from Hagrid, when he turned and stared down at me... I swear I saw anger, displeasure, and a hint of disappointment on his face.
When I saw that look on Hagrid"s face I did not like it at all, it was a look that truly meant, that I am about to kill you. My mind when into over drive at that moment so that I could avoid this incoming ma.s.sive eventual incident.
At that moment that could tip my fate to either one of the extremes, of saving my hide or me going into an early grave. My stupid, danm mouth was only good enough to splatter out, "What is wrong?"
That was the only thing it could say at a fundamentally important moment. Ah, if there is one thing you do not want to do to increase the blood pressure of somebody who is very angry at you. Well, don"t f.u.c.king ask them what you did. That would really set them off, like an ape s.h.i.t crazy gorilla, and that is excatly what I did.
Hagrid, who was still staring at me said in a blank tone that held back clearly much irritation for being cheated said. "This is not the teardrops of a Phoenix, but the teardrops of a Vermilion Bird. These birds ar" a close cousin of Phoenix, but they are much more common, especially in the east. Also, their tears have healing property but it is much more weaker than a Phoenix.
Most of the times, crooks like to pa.s.s these teardrops of vermilion bird as the teardrops of a phoenix."
Well s.h.i.t, I thought. Now that clearly explains why that go Hagrid angry, the man must have thought that I was trying to cheat him.
