Tear A Path

Chapter 41

Zhao Wei"s world stopped, he wasn"t even sure if he was breathing. In this moment the only thing that he could perceive was the blood pumping in his chest like an unstoppable torrent. His head was torn between anger and disbelief.

Zhao Wei was already quite unstable since the beginning. No normal minded human would take all the hardship and pain he went through willingly. But the fact that he had Panda around had kept his mind from tipping over. Now he"d lost her.

It wasn"t so much the fact that she wouldn"t be there. If she"d never met Zhao Wei, he would probably be fine. But in his hardest moments, her entrance into his life meant a lot to him. It"s at the worst moments when the companionship of anyone is mostly appreciated. Through those moments, at least in Zhao Wei"s mind, a bond was forged.

When Panda was lost to him it became almost like when Xi Ya was lost. Without warning the world was going to rip away something else from him. With this Zhao Wei had snapped.

The beasts didn"t give him a moment to digest the information as the wolf dashed towards him again without delay. In it"s mind it thought it would deal with the Zhao Wei who it found more troublesome to fight rather than the Clay Eaters which were much slower than itself.

Just before it"s teeth sank into his flesh, Zhao Wei vanished. He hadn"t gone anywhere, but he shifted his body right under it"s neck where it couldn"t see. Stepping up, he stretched his arm full length and used it to slam against the wolf"s neck, knocking the air out of it and slamming it against the floor.

In his mental s.p.a.ce the thin stream of energy had suddenly turned into a torrent from his erratic emotions, although it was targeted towards the mold for the modified bear trap it overflowed causing the energy to flow into the Wrap Trap mold as well. But it was still too strong, on the Wrap Trap mold, cracks began to form.

Just behind the wolf by a single second, the Clay Eater had rammed towards him. Zhao Wei didn"t even think as he raised his right arm to block. Instantly several Wrap Trap tentacles appeared all over his arm almost like another wall of flesh on top of his own.

The impact was still devastating, but Zhao Wei just slid back a few meters from the force of it. If he was in his usual condition he"d stop fighting as the skin all over his right arm had burst apart. He"d never done this before, a.s.similating his skill with his body, the energy generated by the traps activating was too much for his cells causing it to burn out. But his mind was clouded with rage and his only goal was to destroy everything in front of him.

The Clay eater continued to charge at him to which Zhao Wei responded by sidestepping it. As it pa.s.sed, Zhao Wei"s Wrap Trap arm reached out and wrapped around it"s neck. The Wrap Trap on his arm extended down his right shoulder, chest, abdomen and legs and until it reached the ground and latched on to it, stopping the momentum of the beast"s charge.

Like a giant hand protruding from the ground, it slammed the beast and pinned it. Although it struggled to pick itself up, somehow it couldn"t match against the force. The Wrap Trap arm straightened and extended behind Zhao Wei"s shoulder forming a horizontal pillar, his staff could be seen in the middle of it"s grasp.

Suddenly, as if there was a vacuum in the Wrap Trap, the staff was sucked into it, making contact with the beast in it"s grasp. Zhao Wei had used the staff like a pile-bunker, each impact crumbling it"s armor and creating shock waves with each hit. It started slower at first but began gaining speed.

It took him less than 5 seconds to break the armor around it"s neck. But before he could finish it off, the other Clay Eater had joined in swinging it"s razor sharp tail at him. He bent back just enough that the tail cut a little of his hair, but it had taken the swing at the right time and hit the staff away.

Zhao Wei released the Wrap Trap arm"s grasp on the Clay eater on the ground and caught the beast"s tail as it came over again. He pulled it down and held it on the neck like the previous beast. His fist landed on it"s body a few times, coming back b.l.o.o.d.y.

Seeing this was ineffective, he activated the modified bear trap on his left hand and set it on the Clay Eater"s neck. But even with it"s force it only cut halfway, the Clay Eater still struggled to get back up. He picked up right leg which was currently covered in the Wrap Trap"s glowing vines and set it on the beast"s neck as well.

With veins bulging all over, he began pulling with his left arm and pushed away with his right arm and leg. The flesh that wasn"t cut all the way through by the modified Bear Trap began to split apart. The beast wriggled in pain trying to get away but to no avail. With a primal roar from Zhao Wei a section of the beast"s neck was ripped away.

The black wolf watched in horror. It didn"t join the fight anymore as somehow with his strength, Zhao Wei partially crushed it"s wind pipe. It could no longer move and was focusing all it"s energy towards healing it"s wind pipe so that it could at least escape from this mad man.

Both the skills on either parts of his body deactivated and a horrifying Zhao Wei stepped towards the other Clay eater. His whole right section looked like it had gone through a fire while only his left hand seemed that way.

The Clay Eater wanted to get away but it was severely wounded and could only wriggle it"s body to try and move further. Zhao Wei moved towards the part of it"s neck which got it"s armor destroyed and with his burnt fingers he dug flesh out piece by piece as he entered the beasts"s body.
