Ryn pushed the trolley as she followed behind the happy Mika. She knew her best friend was excited to go home and back to Jason"s arms. She knew Mika was missing her fiancé so much but too shy to tell him whenever he called or messaged her.

Mika pulled Ryn into a restaurant once they checked in their luggage. Mika, being the spender she was bought quite a lot until Ryn had to buy another luggage to fill in everything Mika bought for her. It was a stress buy for her, grumbling and glaring at the innocent-looking Mika.

Once they filled their stomach with food, Mika led the way to the waiting area for VIPs. Of course, when Ryn entered the area, she made a beeline toward the food.

"Are you still hungry?" Mika chuckled.

Ryn did not answer. She was too busy plating her plate.

Mika, on the other hand, went to the drink section to get her orange juice. Then, she chose a cus.h.i.+on to sit and crossed her legs comfortably.

Ryn was choosing some roasted beef when she felt someone standing beside her. She ignored the person and focussed everything on choosing the thickest cut.

"h.e.l.lo." A husky voice interrupted her focus.

She thought the person was talking with someone else so she continued her "shopping".

"This is the thinnest meat," the man suddenly reached out a piece of meat from the plate in front of her and put it on her plate.

Ryn lifted up her head in shocked, only to see a handsome man smiling at her. She frowned. Why did she feel like she had seen him before? Hmm…

The man smiled. He reached for the gravy and c.o.c.ked an eyebrow. "Would you like a lot of gravy or just a little bit?"

"Excuse me?" she choked out.

Not losing his temper when she quickly pulled her plate away from his reach, he kept his smile.

"Don"t be afraid of me. I"m not a bad guy," he chuckled.

"Excuse me," Ryn, not even interested to continue this conversation, simply walked toward another part of the table. Instead of taking more food, she dropped the plate of food she was holding and went to find Mika.

"Interesting," he murmured. His interest was fanned even hotter with the way she ignored him.

Ryn found Mika sipping her drink leisurely. She quickly sat next to Mika and grabbed the drink her best friend drinking.

"Hey!"

Ryn finished half of the gla.s.s before she returned back the drink to Mika. Mika was about to scold Ryn when she saw the weird face on Ryn"s face.

"What"s wrong, babe?" she asked instead.

Ryn opened her mouth to reply but later stiffened. She felt someone was watching her. She stopped herself from looking at the way and covered her face with her hand.

"You… Do you see anyone who is looking at us?" Ryn whispered.

Widening her eyes, Mika automatically turned left before she saw Ryn covering her right side face which was her left side. Before Ryn could stop her, she scanned the whole place until her eyes landed on a man, a handsome man to be precise, and he even noticed her.

He lifted his gla.s.s of wine and winked at her.

Mika gasped. She automatically covered her left side with a hand and leaned forward to Ryn.

"It"s a guy. A handsome guy," Mika hissed. She used her eyes to show how handsome the guy was. Her cheeks reddened at the thought of how das.h.i.+ng he was winking at her, an already taken cute beautiful woman. She felt like fanning herself, trying hard not to swoon.

"Do you know him?" Ryn asked the most obvious question. She could not remember where she saw him but she knew she met him before but where? Where did they meet?

"I don"t know. I can"t remember," Mika replied, frowning.

"But… but try to remember. I think he"s from the wealthy family, your kind of family," Ryn was desperate to know who this stranger was so it would be easier for her to avoid him. She did not want to see him ever again.

"Hmm…"

"Mika, try harder," Ryn hissed.

"I"m trying… I"m trying…"

*~*~*~*

Jason hummed to himself as he went downstairs.

"Jason dear…"

He stopped and looked at his mother. He frowned seeing two women were sitting next to her.

Not again.

"Good evening, mother, Aunty Min, Ella," he greeted politely but did not make a move to sit next to the empty seat next to Ella. He just stood there like a statue but with a forced smile on his face.

"Where are you going, son?" his mother asked, making a good job of ignoring the flirty look coming from Ella.

Her little sister and niece came half an hour ago. Instead of talking about her son, Jason, who refused to take Ella under his wings in the company, Min was talking about her birthday party in a month time.

Of course, she almost forgot about it. It was rare for the family to have a big birthday party. They were more to the type of family who celebrated a birthday or any celebration only in the family. Besides, with Jason"s wedding was getting closer, they were busy preparing for everything. Although most were done by Mika"s family they also helped by preparing the house for the newlywed to live. Jason wanted to live in another house while Mika just did not mind living anywhere as long as she could be with Jason. A bonus brownie point for this young woman. Yes, she was spoiled but at the same time, all she cared about was living with the man she loved.

Hence, they were helping with the dowries (obviously) which were quite a difficult task when the daughter-in-law was a talented jewellery designer and fas.h.i.+on designer. So far they managed to find half of what they planned. Luckily for them, Jason knew what Mika likes and helped to make the list.

And now Min came here to talk about her birthday party. She tried not to make a face about the party. Why should she invite others when she could spend her birthday with her husband and son, and future daughter-in-law?

"Aunty is here to help your mother here to plan her birthday party," Aunty Min said with a huge smile.

A party? Jason looked at his mother with a c.o.c.k an eyebrow. Since when did they have a party for a birthday celebration?

His mother just giggled awkwardly. She ran her eyes from looking at him. Her cheeks reddened.

"Ella here has a lot of experience planning and conducting a party, especially a birthday party. Tell us, Ella, about your vision," Aunty Min nudged her daughter to speak.

Ella straightened herself and smiled sweetly. She took out a notebook and started to read it loudly. But as she read, the face of the mother and son changed.

A luxury party with 100 guests? And the party would be on a cruise? A masquerade party on a cruise?

"I"m sorry to interrupt your lovely idea but I have to go now," Jason interrupted suddenly. He could no longer listen to this crazy idea.

Ella"s round eyes looked at Jason in shocked. She was trying her hard to show how clever she was in front of him but he wanted to leave?

"Excuse me, everyone. Bye, mother," Jason leaned down to kiss his mother"s cheek before he quickly rushed toward the door.

The driver was already prepared the car he chose. He quickly went into the driver seat and drove the car away. Finally, he was out of those two "white foxes".

He reached his destination in two hours. He got out of the car and headed into the entrance. The key was left for the valet to park the car.

When he entered the room, his friends were already there. He smiled at them.

"Finally you"re here. What took you so long?" one of them asked.

"Something happened at the house. Anyway, I"m here, right?" he grinned sheepishly.

"Drink these 3 gla.s.ses for punishment," another one said holding a gla.s.s of beer.

Knowing it was his own fault, Jason drank his punishment without argue. He was not angry at all even though everyone in the room knew he was not good with alcohol.

"So, where is Jeremy?" he asked when he noticed they were missing another man in the room.

"He couldn"t make it. He has to go to the studio or something," the man who punished him with the beer said with a shrug.

"I should be busy too preparing my wedding," Jason mumbled.

"I thought your family handle everything," another scoffed.

Jason just grinned sheepishly as he rubbed his nape. He had done all he needed to do. His mother would help him preparing everything. For the suit, he would be waiting for Mika to help him. He believed in Mika"s taste and knew she would be the one designing his suit so it would look like a pair with her wedding gown.

"Hey, I thought we"re here to celebrate me. Why it seems like you"re celebrating Jason"s wedding?" a man wearing a golden s.h.i.+rt muttered but those who heard him just laugh.

"Of course we"re here to celebrate your birthday."

"Am I late?"

Everyone turned to look at Jeremy who just entered the room. Jeremy looked at Jason whose cheeks already red from the beer.

"How many bottles have you drunk, Jason?" Jeremy asked as he went to his future brother-in-law and patted the rosy cheek.

"Next time wait for Mika to drink for you," Jeremy said with a chuckle and went to gulp down 3 gla.s.ses of beer for his late punishment.

"The Longs are really good with alcohol," one commented dryly seeing there was no redness on Jeremy"s face.

"Of course," Jeremy snorted.

"I thought you couldn"t come today," the birthday boy asked.

"A chance to drink for free? Never refuse, man," Jeremy replied and was replied by laughter from the others.

They continued drinking and chatting with not even a woman in the room. It could also be considered a reunion for the group as they all were in a basketball team when in high school.

"I can"t believe Jason would get married to Mika. And you will become his brother-in-law," one of them commented.

"I thought he"s already my brother-in-law the first time he slept with Mika," Jeremy muttered, "I almost killed him until I remembered he could bring that devil out of my life."

They all laughed at Jeremy"s snort. They all knew sometimes Jeremy called his little sister devil for always interrupting his date with Ryn when they were still in school.

"It was the week before prom, right? I remember how hard you threw the ball to Jason until the coach had to make us pulled you two apart."

"Who taught him to call me big brother and the proceed telling me happily he slept with my little sister the night before?" Jeremy groaned at the memory. But that day, once Mika knew he almost "killed" Jason, she made it her job to "punish" him in every way she could, even pulling Ryn in her team. And his poor innocent Ryn just followed Mika"s order until she got sick of playing the game and focus more on her study.

It was a week of h.e.l.l for him but afterwards, he accepted that the poor fella was head over heel for Mika and accepted him as his future brother-in-law.
