She then took Tatsumi’s arm, not his white cane this time, and led him to the door. When he told her thank you, Yamauchi fell silent for a moment, then thanked him for everything, and said goodbye before she left, her heels clacking loudly. Her voice sounded sad, that probably wasn’t just his imagination. Something had changed with just that small opportunity. He was unsure if he was happy about it, and was a little scared.
