When he replied to the words that finally came from Kusamakura, he got quiet again. Maybe he had noticed his ulterior motives and was upset. That suspicion arose as he swallowed down what he was chewing. He didn’t think it was possible, but he couldn’t deny it for sure either. How could he make the excuse that he wasn’t aware of it himself? It would be great if he just laughed it off, but there was a possibility he was holding on to those suspicions.
“Tatsumi, you know,”
“—Um&h.e.l.lip;&h.e.l.lip;I’d like to thank you for last night!”
As if to interrupt whatever he was going to say, Tatsumi opened his mouth.
“Thank?”
“Yes. Um, why don’t we go out to eat tonight?”
Since I have no preference, and don’t normally spend much money, even somewhere expensive would be fine.
He tried joking, but Kusamakura didn’t reply.
“Um&h.e.l.lip;&h.e.l.lip;?”
When he opened his mouth to ask him a little frantically if he were still there, Kusamakura finally responded with a yeah.
“—I can’t do nights.”
