Chapter 2095: A Daughter.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
The two men got up and kneeled in the direction of Ye Qianqian. “We won’t ever do something like that again! Please forgive us!”
They were both shaking and whimpering.
It was obvious how badly they had been beaten.
Yu Lili held her daughter in her arms and refused to let her see or listen to what was going on. Her eyes were red and swollen.
Seeing how Ye Qianqian was lying motionless on the bed, Yu Lili’s heart ached.
“Send them to the police station,” Shen Zhilie ordered in an indifferent tone. “Ou Ming, how long can their prison sentences be?”
As soon as Ou Ming heard this, he knew what Shen Zhilie meant.
“Don’t worry. They can only get out of prison after 20 or 30 years.” Ou Ming glared at them coldly. “Take them away.”
“Okay.”
The two bodyguards carried them out one by one.
The two men shouted desperately, “Son of a b*tch! Why are you doing this to us?! Do you think you can get away with this just because you’re rich?”
“Let us go!”
…
Ye Qianqian turned her head away with her eyes closed.
“Qianqian, I’m so sorry,” Yu Lili said in between her sobs. “Nothing would’ve happened if I had looked after the child myself, but I just pa.s.sed the child to you. I’m sorry, I’ve hurt you. You can hit or scold me. I’m sorry, Qianqian…”
“Lili…” Shen Zhilie replied. “It’s my fault. Don’t blame yourself. If I had followed them closely, nothing would’ve happened as well.”
“If I hadn’t asked you to hang out with us, nothing would’ve happened.” As Yu Lili guided her daughter to Ye Qianqian’s bed, she told her, “Say sorry to Aunt Qianqian.”
“Aunt Qianqian, I’m sorry,” Ou Xiaoxia said with a sorrowful expression. “If… I hadn’t eaten the candy… you would’ve been fine… ”
The little girl was so heartbroken that she almost cried.
She looked up at her mother with her red eyes and muttered, “Mom…”
“Call her G.o.dmother.” Ou Ming stepped forward and picked Ou Xiaoxiao up. “If it weren’t for Qianqian today, you would’ve been kidnapped by the bad guys. You might’ve never gotten to see your parents again in your lifetime, and you even might’ve died! Now, Aunt Qianqian is your second parent. From now on, you will call Aunt Qianqian your G.o.dmother.”
“G.o.dmother,” Ou Xiaoxiao looked at Ye Qianqian and said softly.
Ye Qianqian’s tears started streaming down her cheeks again. She turned her head and saw how serious they all looked.
“You don’t need to be like this,” Ye Qianqian said slowly as she looked at them. “It was me. If I hadn’t taken her out for a walk to many places, I wouldn’t have run into those two people and gotten lost. Nothing would’ve happened to us.”
Her voice was very low and heavy.
Hearing Ye Qianqian’s words, Shen Zhilie grabbed her hands.
“Don’t you say that,” Ou Ming said seriously. “You didn’t know what was going to happen in advance. If it has happened, then it has happened. You saved Xiaoxiao, and you’re a real hero. If you don’t want to be her G.o.dmother, it doesn’t matter. Qianqian, we truly do appreciate you.”
It was the first time Ou Ming had spoken to Ye Qianqian so seriously. He had never spoken so solemnly before.
Ye Qianqian even felt a little emotional.
She looked sideways and saw Ou Ming walking over with his daughter in his arms. “Call her G.o.dmother.”
“G.o.dmother.”
Ye Qianqian suddenly chuckled while her tears rolled down her cheeks. With a smile on her face, she said, “So I’ve earned a daughter.”
She braced herself and tried to sit up. Shen Zhilie quickly stepped forward to help her up.
Ou Xiaoxiao went forward, wiped her face with her small hands, and said, “G.o.dmother, please don’t cry.”
“I’m not crying. I’m happy,” Ye Qianqian replied as she embraced her. “I now have a daughter.”
