[What if one day you wake up and you can"t remember who the person in front of you is?What if one day you were asked "do you remember me?" but you don"t remember the person who asked you at all?
What will you do? Will you just stare at that person blankly? Will you just act like everything is fine?
Will you hide the truth and live a lie? Or will you search for the truth, only to find lies?]
As I wrote these words in the first page of the 101st blank book I received ever since I came into this dimension, I reminisced about the turning points of my life. The time when I realized that my life was mine and only mine, and no one can overturn that fact until my last breath.
Well, at least, that was what I was holding onto back then.

Like the main character of this book, I was once lost and in doubt of everything when I lost all my memories because of a reason I never knew in my lifetime. It wasn"t supposed to be a big deal; my father told me that it was just an unlikely accident when I misstepped on the stairs and hit my head on the floor.
That was a lie, though. Like I said, I never knew the real reason why I had lost all my memories. I don"t even know if I"m really just 17 years old at that time or if they were lying about that as well.
You must be wondering, why? Simple. I never found my birth certificate. Not even one ID. I just suddenly became the youngest doctor of the decade and again, for reasons I never knew, I was able to do a simple heart surgery at that very age.
If it wasn"t weird, what is?
I can still clearly remember the oldest memory I had back when I was alive. Of course, it was when I woke up in a hospital bed.
The moment I ruined my own life.
~
"Just a minor concussion," a thin man wearing a white lab gown said when I fully regained my consciousness.
They all looked delighted and chatted with each other about how they were relieved I was okay but a man with a well-built body, wearing a white-collared uniform, just stared at me.
He must"ve working out diligently. [Yes, I know. I focused on the wrong thing again.]
I stared blankly back at him, making him look at me suspiciously.
"Check if her brain"s fine." He said as he observed my eyes" movements.
The man who told them about the "minor concussion" immediately ran outside, probably going to request for the CT and MRI Scan.
Wait, what"s CT or MRI? Why do I know that sort of things?
Interrupting my thoughts, the woman who almost fainted from happiness a while ago worriedly approached me and caressed my cheek.
"Are you feeling ok, Honey? Does your head hurt badly?" She asked. I silently nodded first then shook my head, making her let out a sigh of relief afterwards.
"You made me worry for nothing!" She said as she punched the well-built man"s arm. Despite that, the man still looked at me suspiciously.
"Are you my Mom?" I naively asked.
[This was my first mistake.]
She flinched, shocked by my question before looking at the man beside her, asking questions with her eyes.
They kept silent until the man in the lab gown got back and told them that the scans were ready. My thoughts were right, he really requested for them.
After doing the scans, they left me alone in my hospital room. I don"t know what possessed me but I suddenly had the urge to escape and distance myself from everyone I met earlier.
I felt like they were dangerous people. People I should never be acquainted with.
With the wallet of the man and woman from earlier left in my room, I hurriedly picked them up and planned my escape. It was probably midnight or later because there was literally no one on the corridors when I went out of the room.
I immediately walked towards the emergency stairs and ran downstairs without stopping, in fear that somebody will catch me escaping.
I don"t exactly remember how but I managed to open a locked door with just a sharp edge of a picture from the man"s wallet.
[The second dumbness.]
Inside the room, there were lockers. I opened one which was luckily unlocked, and saw a pair of jeans and blouses. I immediately shoved it inside a shoulder bag I found on the table near the door. Before I completely got out, I somehow realized that I was still on a hospital gown. With the clothes I obtained, I quickly changed my clothes and fixed my hair.
I reached the lobby and unexpectedly, there were a lot of people. Just my luck, even the men and women who were previously in my room was there, talking with coffee cups in their hand.
Without knowing why, I actually knew what to do.
