"Just let myself be ah~ What else I could do? I have to work and honestly... I can"t afford to take a day off at all," Feng Xiao Qing answered truthfully because her mind wasn"t really clear at that moment. She always looked at her own life in a positive way, so she wouldn"t think of her life as a heavy burden.Feng Xiao Qing wanted to get up and continued to attend the lesson, however, she started to feel her heavy body that she couldn"t move her body because it was too weak.
Ah Rang saw that many people were looking at them and knew that this wasn"t the best place to inquire more. Fortunately, Feng Xiao Qing"s voice was quite weak, so the only one who could hear her was only Ah Rang. Ah Rang didn"t want anyone to use this knowledge to attack Feng Xiao Qing with their malice thoughts or plans.
"Let me take you to the infirmary!" Ah Rang said softly. She felt that Feng Xiao Qing needed to drink medicine, at the very least. Otherwise, sooner or later, she would faint due to her tiredness.
Feng Xiao Qing knew how important the lesson was, so she quickly denied, "No need! I will go there myself! You still need to attend the lesson." However, she couldn"t even move a muscle... Ah Rang saw how weak she was and scowled. "This woman ah~! She still pretends to be strong!" Ah Rang thought to herself.
Ah Rang protested, "It"s fine. I will talk to the coach." Then, she hurriedly went away to find the coach while Feng Xiao Qing was still laying on the ground weakly.
The other trainees saw Feng Xiao Qing"s pale face and they didn"t try to make it difficult for her. Truthfully, without the instigation from Siu Lan, they actually admired Feng Xiao Qing"s hardworking personality. If they were the ones who were sick, they didn"t think they could persist like her... However, they wouldn"t admit that though and they decided to let the sick woman be. They weren"t that petty to pick a fight on a sick girl!
The coach came over, then she saw how pale and weak Feng Xiao Qing was. She quickly told Ah Rang to send her to the infirmary. She told Feng Xiao Qing to take a rest for the rest of the day. Ah Rang obediently sent her to the infirmary. She didn"t know whether she could leave Feng Xiao Qing all alone or not. However, after being persuaded by Feng Xiao Qing, Ah Rang reluctantly left her alone and went back to attend her own lessons.
Probably due to her high fever, Feng Xiao Qing reminisced about her past and everything became a flashback to her. She started to remember everything that she had wanted to forget --- the pain and the betrayal... they made her become numb once again. She even started to imagine the desolation and how hopeless she was back then.
Feng Xiao Qing saw her mother"s face that resembled a lot with her --- she was always a gentle lady that loved her father dearly and her father also loved her, after all, they were both childhood sweetheart. When she saw their interactions in her mind, she realized how they looked so perfect when they stood side by side.
So, when did it start to change?
She honestly didn"t remember.
She only remembered that one day, her father gave her the news that her mother was dead from an accident. From that day onwards, he looked at her coldly and not an ounce of love could be felt from him --- it seemed like they turned into strangers in one night. They weren"t a father daughter pair anymore...
Whenever she asked for a cuddle, he only glanced at her and sneered menacingly --- like she didn"t deserve to be cuddled by him. She always looked at her father in confusion. Since her mother"s death, her father was also gone along with her. At that moment, she didn"t understand this but she still foolishly yearned for his love.
Then, it fast forwarded to the day he introduced Feng Xiao Qing to her new mother. She brought along a daughter who was introduced as her new stepsister. She wished to get along with her, but what did she get? She was treated lower than a servant. She even thought that her new stepsister must be the one who was actually the real flesh and blood of her father --- otherwise, how could their treatment was so different? Her stepsister became the new princess in their household.
If everyone thought Cinderella was just a myth, it was so wrong. She realized that sometimes a story really happened in real life, however, it was minus the fairy tale and the happily ever after part. The reality wasn"t always as beautiful as the story. This part, she knew about it clearly.
After that, she remembered the scene that triggered her to run away! That was the thing that she hated the most, so she directly skipped it. She didn"t want to reminisce that part! She would become strong and pretended that she had no family. She could survive all alone just fine!
When she was struggling and thras.h.i.+ng wildly because of her dream state, she suddenly heard a comforting voice beside her ears, "Are you okay? Oi! Feng Xiao Qing! Wake up! Are you okay?"
Somehow, she felt safe after listening to that sound. After that, she felt that someone pulled her up so she could sit down and then she was fed with a bitter medicine. Feng Xiao Qing didn"t have the strength to open her eyes and she directly went back to sleep. She was so tired!
"Thank you, Lu Yi Feng!" Feng Xiao Qing thought that she said it inwardly, but she didn"t know that she actually said it out loud.
Lu Yi Feng could only sigh...
He actually pa.s.sed by the infirmary by accident. He was going to have a meeting, but he saw Ah Rang bring Feng Xiao Qing who was slightly unconscious to the infirmary. She could still walk, but her eye were closed all the time and she relied all of her body solely on Ah Rang.
It wasn"t time for them to announce the "fake" relations.h.i.+p, so he asked Lin San to inquire what"s wrong with her. Last night weather was quite cold and he already got a gut feeling that she would get sick, however, she looked fine this morning --- except for the vomiting part. Thus, he didn"t pay any mind. He thought that vomiting was a usual thing that happened when someone had a hangover.
Lin San knew his boss was worried even though his face was still expressionless, hence he quickly gave Lu Yi Feng the meeting material and let the big boss attend it without him.
This was the first time Lu Yi Feng couldn"t focus at the meeting...
This was the first time he was feeling worried about a sick person!
