Chapter 114 A Shift
She had revealed her personal details and had even invited the doubters to come and meet them. They had no reason not to believe her.
Gradually, people began to comment on her post. “Oh? So that’s how it is. Perhaps we’ve misjudged Yao Tangagain.”
“Ah! I’m so sorry, G.o.ddess, we totally let you down! I cry.”
“See? I told you! Yao Tangcame there for educational purposes, you guys.”
!!
“I can’t take it! My G.o.ddess has been wronged by so many strangers on the Internet!”
“Finally, someone is willing to help my G.o.ddess clear her name! I’ve always believed in her, and I’m glad that the truth came out at last. I wonder who’s behind all the rumors, though?”
After reading some of the replies, Qin Jingheaved a sigh of relief. She pressed a hand to her chest and slowly nodded, congratulating herself for a job well done.
It seemed that many still believed in Yao Tang, especially after having seen the evidence.
This moment of victory was short-lived, however. To Qin Jing’s horror, a slew of malicious replies suddenly flooded her post. Not only did they effectively bury the supportive comments, but they practically discredited everything she had written.
“No way, I don’t believe it. Well, even if those were just rumors, the fact that she is vain and arrogant remains true.”
“I mean, how would you explain all her branded clothes? She’s from the countryside, isn’t she? How could she even afford those things? There’s a lot more she needs to explain in order to clear her name.”
“I know, right? So if Yao Tangis this conceited, then what kind of person do you think this so-called friend of hers is? I’m not convinced this user is reliable, either!”
“Wait, they actually called Yao Tangtheir G.o.ddess? Haha, wake up! Someone like her would never spare a second glance at losers like you. Have some self-awareness.”
“How disgusting. All I can say is that a wicked woman is a wicked woman, period. That Yao Tangpicks fights even within the school grounds and messes around with men. I bet anyone who a.s.sociates with her suffers bad luck sooner or later.”
Qin Jing seethed as more comments popped up. She might be simple-minded, but she wasn’t stupid. She knew what was happening here.
Yao Tang had been targeted. And these ruthless users were most likely paid internet trolls.
There were at least a hundred of them, too.
In the short time that Qin Jinghad been online, the number of comments ballooned to more than 2,000, and practically all of them were callingYao Tangconceited and greedy. She considered hiring a troll army of her own, but her attention was caught by the most recent comments.
“Hey, isn’t this Qin Jing the famous Miss Qin from our Experimental High School? She took a long leave of absence just last month, didn’t she?”
“I’m a cla.s.smate of Qin Jing’s. Don’t get fooled by her. She took a leave of absence because her skin has been festering with some kind of disease. I don’t know what it is or how she contracted it, but seeing how cozy she is with Yao Tang, it must be some unspeakable illness. I do wonder how she would benefit from defending that girl.”
“Oh, my G.o.d! So the Qin family’s precious daughter isn’t some innocent girl, either!”
“Gosh, I thought the reputable Qin family was strict and had high standards? I didn’t expect their children to engage in such promiscuous liaisons. I suppose that’s money for you, huh? They just do whatever they want. How disgusting!” “They’re birds of a feather, I tell you! That explains why she’s speaking up for Yao Tang.” The malice had shifted from Yao TangtoQin Jing. She was the one branded as immoral now, a rich girl who led a messy private life.
With just a few words, they had managed to sabotage her credibility. No one would believe her after this, no matter how much proof she produced.
“These people are really too much!”
Qin Jing felt a mix of dread and outrage. She had never been wronged like this in all her life!
Perhaps this was exactly why Yao Tanghad never bothered to clarify matters herself. Knowing her, she probably wasn’t even paying any attention to the rumors.
Yao Tang was indeed wise.
“It looks like I’ll have to deal with these trolls head-on,” Qin Jingmuttered.
“Let’s see if they have the guts to say these things to my face.”
Jiang Huai looked stared at his screen and let out an evil cackle.
So Yao Tanghad wanted to turn the tables in her favor?
It just wasn’t possible. He was determined to put that ambitious gold-digger in her place. Yao Tangwould never become the campus belle again for as long as he was around.
Instead, she would become the biggest joke in No. 1 High School!Jiang Huaiwould see to that.
In fact, this was just the beginning. He intended to deploy more help to turn Yao Tanginto a complete outcast.
And as the saying went, the enemy of one’s enemy is one’s friend. He knew just who to look for!
It was none other than Ruan Qing, someone who had been forced out of school because ofYao Tang.
Given the circ.u.mstances, Jiang Huaiwas confident thatRuan QingdespisedYao Tangas much as he did, maybe even more so.
He had already given his troll army a huge sum under the promise that they would keep a lookout for any news regarding Yao Tang. As soon as something comes up, they would immediately hound the post and start their smearing campaign against her.
Jiang Huai laughed diabolically.
‘The campus bell can only be Ranran, no one else.’
