Chapter 348: Encounter at the Nightclub
Lin Xin nodded in earnest, her face filled with excitement.
“That’s right. I’m telling you, their cakes and dim sum are totally out of this world! You’ll understand once you try them. Come on, let’s go!”
She pulled Yao TangandQin Jinginside, whileMeng Yanglumbered along behind them.
The security guard recognized Lin Xinand greeted them with a smile. Their server also seemed to recognizeLin Xin, and spoke to her in a familiar manner. “h.e.l.lo, Miss Lin. Will you be ordering your usual dessert selection?”
“Yes, please.” Lin Xinmotioned at her companions. “And serve us some dim sum for my friends here.”
!!
“Of course.” With one last smile, the waiter bowed and turned to leave.
“What do you guys think?” Lin Xinasked as they walked to their own private room. “My uncle brought me here some time ago, and I absolutely loved their food, so he opened a tab for me. He spoke with management and told them I can come and go freely, and he will take care of the expenses. Fortunately, my parents had no objections, so I come here pretty often.”
She then proceeded to gush about the menu and made a point of recommending all her favorites.
Qin Jing was uninterested at first, but the more she listened toLin Xin, the more her curiosity was piqued.
Soon enough, a young girl pushed a cart into their private room.
She offered them a bow and spoke politely. “Dear guests, your food has arrived. Please enjoy your meal.”
She lifted her head, only to freeze in shock.
The waitress was none other than Xu Xuan.
Her eyes immediately landed on Yao Tang, and the two girls stared at each other for one tense moment.
The others were just as surprised to see Xu Xuanhere, so much so that no one uttered a single word.
Xu Xuan was the first to come back to her senses. She hurriedly served the plates on their table and stepped away. “Some of the dishes you ordered are still being prepared. They will be served in a while. If you need anything, please feel free to call for me.”
The others blinked out of their daze at the sound of her voice, but still remained silent.
Finally, Xu Xuanbowed again and excused herself.
The moment she was safely out in the hall, she leaned against the wall and heaved a long sigh of relief.
Xu Xuan pushed her cart forward robotically, still worrying about the six million yuan she andYao Ranhad to cough up.
She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she failed to notice a group of people rounding the nearest corner and striding toward her.
The man leading the group stopped in front of her just in time to prevent a disastrous collision.
Naturally, he berated Xu Xuan for her carelessness. “What the h.e.l.l is wrong with you? Are you blind? You almost hit our Young Master Lu!”
Xu Xuan immediately bowed and apologized profusely.
After all, she couldn’t afford to offend the clientele of this establishment.
Even in cases where she wasn’t at fault, she had no choice but to humble herself and take the blame.
The man called Young Master Lu peered at her and clicked his tongue.
Then, with a swish of his hand, he ordered his subordinate to stop talking.
“Shut it. She didn’t b.u.mp into us, anyway. Don’t make things difficult for her. Let’s go.”
“Of course, Young Master Lu, you’re right. Your generosity is truly commendable.”
But Lu Qin had already drawn close to Xu Xuan. He flashed her a lascivious smile. “Are you all right? You’re not hurt, are you?”
Xu Xuan kept her head down and replied in a timid voice. “I’m fine. Thank you for your concern. It was my mistake just now. Please forgive me.”
Lu Qing’s eyes glittered with interest. “Raise your head and let me take a good look at you.”
“Yes, Sir.”
Xu Xuan took a deep breath and braced herself before raising her head ever so slightly.
Lu Qing wasn’t satisfied. He still couldn’t see her face clearly. He stepped forward and reached out, intending to grab the girl by the chin and force her to look into his eyes.
To his surprise, she took a step back almost instantly.
She had dared to avoid his touch.
Lu Qing snapped. The smile disappeared from his face and was replaced by a sinister sneer.
“Who allowed you to turn away from me?” he roared.
