~Unknown Location~Dana was observing Catherine"s face across the table, they just finished eating their evening meal. "Are your cramps getting more painful?" she asked.
Catherine nodded her head. "My back is giving me pain nowadays. I think I"m gonna give birth this week," she groaned.
"Looks like you are right. I wonder if those men already had a standby midwife to help us deliver the baby. If not then I"d better make preparations," Dana said. Mentally she was already preparing, towels, knife to cut the baby"s umbilical cord because there was no scissor, basin with water, some garments to wrap the infant, hmmm, what else? She will prepare those things tonight before she will go to bed.
Catherine was excited and fearful as well. It will be the first time she will deliver a baby without her husband by her side. Since she was not able to see an OB-Gyn and have ultrasound she doesn"t know the gender of her second baby. But she was excited to see her second child, it doesn"t matter what the gender will be she will deliver her child safely into this world, she looked at her companion. "Thank you for helping me, Dana. I don"t know what to do if you are not here by my side, it"s scary to give birth alone on my own," she said.
Dana smiled at her. "Worry not my dear, as long I"m here I will help you in any way I can."
A faint smile appeared on Catherine"s lips. She will forget that she was a captive just for a while, she will just focus on her safe delivery anytime this week.
She caresses her protruding tummy. The fetus is not that too active, the kicking was less compared when she was pregnant with baby James. Could she be giving birth to a baby girl? Awww, she always wanted to have a baby girl that would look like her, her mini-me. She giggled for a little while imagining her baby girl.
Dana watched Catherine"s expectant face. She stood up and went inside the room, she returned and produced a pen which she borrowed from the guard and then a piece of paper. "If you want the baby to be given to your husband, what do you want to say to him? For example, if it will happen that our abductors will send the baby to your husband, what are you going to say to him? Write it on the piece of paper, who knows, a miracle might happen," she said.
Catherine holds the pen and wrote a short message for John.
"Dear husband, I finally give birth to our second baby, please take care of our child. I dunno if we will see each other again, but I want you to know that I love you so much! I miss you and baby James!"
Catherine read her message again, she smiled a little and then tears glistened in her eyes. Of course, she knows that it won"t reach John so she did not lengthen her message. She crumpled the letter and put it in the table, she gave the pen back to Dana. She rose to her feet to go inside the room to rest. "I will rest early, Dana, my back is killing me," she said.
Dana nods her head and began cleaning the table and putting the dishes into the kitchen sink.
Inside the bedroom that she shared with Dana, Catherine was silently crying in her pillow. After writing the message a burst of emotion flooded her senses. It was the deep longing for her husband, her son and her family that made her feel so utterly sad and lonely. The longer she stays in captivity the more she feared that she will never see her family ever again.
Then there were these nagging thoughts in her mind that has been bothering her as if the moment she will give birth to her baby something bad will happen. What are they going to do with her? To her baby and Dana? It"s not that they were being kidnaped because of an innocent prank. Surely there"s a real reason why they were abducted and what could that be?
Will she be able to meet the mastermind of her kidnapping after she delivers the baby?
Hope so. She wanted to meet her or him so that she will finally know why she was being held in captivity. She doesn"t deserve all this!
Two hours later.
Dana entered the room, she placed a shopping bag in Catherine"s hands. "The guard sends this to you," she said.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.
Catherine examined the bag"s content, she saw several infant"s clothing, hand gloves and socks for newborns, then diapers and some garments such as onesie and white baby blankets. She began to cry again.
Dana sat down on the bed facing the crying woman. "Stop crying, Catherine. Save your strength for the delivery of your baby. Don"t be sad, too much stress and worry can affect your delivery. Go to sleep now. Stop thinking too much, it doesn"t help us at all. Instead, focus on the positive side of your labor, you will be able to see your child finally. Isn"t that exciting?" she said.
Catherine wiped the tears from her eyes. "Okay, I will stop crying. Let"s go to sleep now," she said and closed her eyes.
Dana turns off the light in the bedroom and went back to her bed to sleep.
