She walked for a while, fully satisfied with the goodness of the congee. Where in the world is that residence her boss told her to go to? Sam had her own regrets. She was a cheapskate after all. She could"ve just hailed a taxi but no, she wanted to save the travel allowance the company gave her. She told in the middle of the street. Unsure if she was in the right street or was just hallucinating.
*beep* *beep*
Suddenly you can hear the sound of tires screeching and a loud honk. She was almost hit by a car. It may be her fault to absent-mindedly walk around after eating that congee but who doesn"t do that these days? That soup kinda made her reminisce. She was still stuck in the middle of the street, completely dazed.
*beep* *beep*
The car keep honking.
She was so furious. He was the one who almost hit her when she was just walking how could he be so rude about it. Compensation is important to her and a simple apology would do but no this b.a.s.t.a.r.d kept honking until she stepped aside. The car went into a red gate and without thinking sanely, she picked up a rock and threw it hard but then you can instantly hear the sound of gla.s.s being shattered and the house"s security alarm triggered which scared her from doing anything else.
Sam started to run as fast as she can. At one moment she felt alive. Was it that she was almost caught or was it just the fact that she always wanted to be a troublemaker.
She came into a stop and laughed at herself. Deep inside she missed her youth. Seventeen and reckless; young, dauntless and full of dreams. Who thought that she would the be complete opposite years after.
Sam heard her phone ring. Her boss" name flashed on the screen.
What now? She thought to herself, reluctant to answer the phone but she picked it up anyway.
"Hey boss, what"s up?" She tried to sound cheerful but Matthew could catch a hint of irritation on the other line.
"Hey my favourite secretary, I forgot to tell you I had the wrong date for the meeting. Hehe.. come back to the office right now." He loved teasing her when she"s on a stakeout meeting for a client.
Sam felt like she was going to explode in anger when the call ended. She could have been anywhere else enjoying hotpot or milk tea but no, she was toyed by her boss again.
"Son of a b.i.t.c.h!" Was all she could muster to say. I"m going to get even with you someday Matthew Sung.
