“Here we are.” Haisha picked up her pace and came before a collapsed hole in the cave. She looked inside and said, “As expected, they took the eggs.”
Dean crouched beside the hole. Like what Haisha had said, the sultry nest in nest was already empty. All those eggs were gone.
“I’m afraid they have already s.h.i.+fted them to another place.” Haisha looked at Dean and said, “Pity you are already a Limitless now. Otherwise, with your strong willpower, you will definitely change your magic mark to a Shadow Hunter one, and even deify it and turn it into legendary deified magic mark. At that time, your potential will only be inferior to me.”
“If so, I’m gonna recommend you before my family. I’m sure they will get you specially trained.” Speaking of which, she heaved a sigh.
Dean was touched and also a little bit excited, “So you own the legendary deified magic mark?” He nearly blurted out the word “also”.
Haisha responded, “My magic mark has been prepared even before I was born. It is ‘Evil Dragon Rider’ ranking the third place among the eight legendary monsters, which my ancestors have ever subdued and is also the magic mark of our Dragon Clan pa.s.sing down for generations.”
Dean was caught in a trance, “Pa.s.sing down for generations? Does it mean you have a huge amount of Evil Dragon Rider parasitic soul worms?”
“Has…the Dragon Clan been feeding Evil Dragon Riders?”
But what made him more surprised was that there was a ranking of legendary monsters.
Judging through Dean’s face, Haisha could tell his thoughts. She smiled, “Any living creatures on this planet are either strong or weak, even if they belong to the same category. Legendary monsters are no exception. Like the Shadow Hunters, ranking the seventh place. Although their concealing ability belongs to the first cla.s.s, if they get seen through, their fighting capacity is only a bit higher than the rare monsters then.”
“What about the Splitters?” Asked Dean.
Haisha smiled and said, “Splitters are extremely aggressive monsters, ranking the fourth place, which are rendered as extremely rare legendary monsters now.”
Dean felt a little down, but anyhow it was not in the last place. Suddenly he recalled something, so he couldn’t help asking, “Do the Wing Clan and Rock Clan also have legendary magic marks pa.s.sing down from generation to generation like you do? And do their magic marks rank the top two?”
“Of course not.” Haisha smiled, and then said, “It’s true they also have their own legendary magic marks pa.s.sing down. Otherwise if it’s interrupted, it would lead to self-destruction. And their legendary marks can’t compare with ours at all. The legendary mark of Wing Clan is Bat Evangelist. And we usually call them Evangelists by the Lord of Wall, because they always tell on others, which is annoying.”
“And the legendary magic mark of Rock Clan ranks the sixth place, above the Shadow Hunters. So your Splitter magic mark is even better than that of the Wing Clan and Rock clan. But theirs are deified magic marks, which could make up for one or two ranking difference. So actually they are no worse than any of those below top three on the list.”
Dean was a little surprised. So the Splitter magic mark he had accidentally obtained was even better that two out of the three Devil families from the Inner Wall, which meant he had the potential surpa.s.sing them!
Combing his new sacred magic, he could even or surpa.s.s them even though they had gifted blood power.
“But, the ranking is not absolute.” Haisha said, “Each kind of legendary monster is good at their own territories and domains, including the environment. And they wouldn’t leave the environment they are adept of easily. Once other legendary monsters enter their environment, they may get beaten or even killed. Sometimes the Shadow Hunter ranking the seventh place would even kill a Splitter or a Bat Evangelist.”
“But the changing ranking on the list due to external factors does not include the top three.”
Haisha then lowered her voice, “They are called Eight Legendary Monsters, but the top three legendary monsters have huge gaps with those below. Especially Dream Conceiver ranking the first place. It has transcended the scope of any other legendary monsters. In any environment, they could easily kill any other legendary monsters, including the legendary Murderer.”
“So strong?” Dean was astonished.
Haisha nodded and said, “I also heard it from my dragon grandma. I have never seen it with my own eyes. Dream Conceiver hasn’t shown up for over a hundred years. The last time they showed up was at least a hundred years ago, by only leaving some footprints. Even the Saintess of that generation failed to find it. So people gradually forget about it. But a sure thing is no one owns the Dream Conceiver magic mark. So we only take it as a fairy tale.”
Something flashed in Dean’s eyes. He had never been so eager for power. But as what Haisha said, it was only a fairy tale. It was already hard to see other legendary monsters, let alone the Dream Conceiver.
“Come on. Let’s find a place to rest.” Haisha said.
Dean nodded.
After getting out of the cave, Dean found the place where Rubey had hidden the package, but it wasn’t there, only some footprints the same like those before the cave. Apparently those Dragon Guards also took his whole package of food.
He had a bitter smile and then took Haisha to the deserted street, found a broken building and slipped in. He used some branches and cirrus to make a bed. Since Haisha hadn’t fully recovered, they could only take a shelter here in the orange wasted area.
In the following days Dean and Haish went hunting together everyday. Thanks to Haisha’s super perception, they didn’t meet any high level monsters. Besides, it also had something to do with their hunting scope and time. They only hunted in a small area for a short time. Every time they hunted a monster, they would quickly go back to their hidden place.
After eating and drinking, Dean would start to exercise his cardiac muscle.
Since Haisha had nothing to do, she taught Dean a whole set of Dragon Pierce Article, the one Dean had been wronged to learn.
Like Haisha said, anyway he had already gone out of line to learn the Dragon Blood Technique. It was nothing to break the rules another time.
Time ticked by. Soon Dean and Haisha had stayed in the orange wasted area for half a month. This didn’t include the time they had spent in that ice cave.
“Have you all packed up?” Haisha only took her inseparable Blood-red Great Sword, stood out of the broken door of the building, looking at Dean who was packing up his stuff.
Dean put on the armor he had washed last time and the coat made with the fur of the Bone-devouring Rats, slipped a few sets of clothes made with the fur of the monsters Haisha had captured into his package, and then turned around to look at the cave-like place they had been living in for half a month. With a few jumps, he already came before Haisha, saying, “I’m all good. Let’s go.”
