Chapter 618 A Great Master of Bewitching Spells
“What? The sculpted head of a snake?”
Qin Haodong almost jumped up with excitement at this piece of news. He was looking for the sculpted head to improve his cultivation, so he was really excited.
He had agreed to attend the auction just for fun, but now he was eager to go there to look for the snake’s head.
Li Dongguo was surprised to see him filled with excitement. As far as he knew, the bronze head, which would be auctioned later, had only cost about 10 million Hong Kong dollars. It was nothing compared to the check on the table.
Li Dongguo was confused and asked, “Medical Sage, is there a problem?”
Qin Haodong also realized that he had lost his composure. He explained hurriedly, “I heard that those bronze heads were taken away from Huaxia, so I’ve always wanted to bring them back to the country. I’m too excited at the news of the snake’s head. Please excuse me, Mr. Li.”
“I didn’t expect that you’re such a patriotic person.” Li Dongguo said, “But I also had the same idea when I first heard the news. I wanted to buy this sculpted head and give it back to Huaxia.”
“Mr. Li, don’t worry about this. Please leave it to me.”
What he wanted was the Spirit Stone of Upper Level hidden in the bronze head. As for the head itself, he would definitely return it to Huaxia later.
Then he asked, “Mr. Li, who is Sir Owen?”
Li Dongguo explained, “Sir Owen is a great person. He’s from Great Britain but lives in Hong Kong for most of the time because he has lots of properties here for historical reasons. He says that he prefers the climate and cultural environment of Hong Kong to that of Great Britain.
“People call him Sir Owen, not because of respect, but because he’s indeed a Marquis. And the t.i.tle was given by the Queen of Great Britain.
“I’m always listed as one of the top ten richest people in Hong Kong, but the statistical approach was not reasonable. In fact, Sir Owen is wealthier than me.
“He’s nuts about collecting antiques, so he spent all his money on buying all kinds of collections, including items from East Asia, Europe, and America. Therefore, no one knows exactly how many antiques he has.
“Someone once tried to estimate his a.s.sets in secret, only to find that it was a mission impossible because the value of his antiques was soaring.
“For example, someone had bought three bronze heads at the price of 4,500 US dollars 40 years ago. But now, the price has increased by thousands of times.
“Therefore, everyone knows that Sir Owen is super-rich, but his a.s.sets cannot be calculated.”
Qin Haodong nodded and asked, “Do you know how Sir Owen got this sculpted head?”
Li Dongguo answered, “I don’t know exactly. But it’s said that Sir Owen’s ancestor is an officer of Great Britain. He partic.i.p.ated in the invasion of Huaxia 100 years ago and brought back lots of treasures. They started to become rich from then on.
“I haven’t heard that Sir Owen had bought a sculpted head, so I think it might be brought back by his ancestor from Huaxia.”
An idea suddenly crossed Qin Haodong’s mind. He said, “Do you mean that Sir Owen might have other sculpted heads in addition to this one?”
Li Dongguo said, “I’m not sure. Anyway, there will only be a snake’s head in tonight’s auction.”
Qin Haodong thought for a while and decided to get the snake’s head first. After all, it was quite impossible for a man to possess two or more treasures like the sculpted head.
After that, Li Dongguo gave him some background information about Sir Owen. Then, Qin Haodong said, “Mr. Li, it’s almost time for the auction. I have to go and take a look.”
Now, nothing was more important than the snake’s head.
Li Dongguo said, “Well, I’ll ask Uncle Cheng to send you there now.”
Qin Haodong refused his offer by saying, “No, thank you. You have too many things to deal with, please stay here. Just give me a car and we can go by ourselves.”
Li Dongguo thought for a while and agreed. His entire family was in a mess now and he needed to sort out the finance and other affairs. They couldn’t finish these without Uncle Cheng’s help. He said, “Alright, I’ll ask someone to pick a car for you right now.”
Li Meiyu added, “Haodong, I’ve asked the person in charge of the auction to prepare a bidding card for you. There’s no limit on the funds available, so you can buy whatever you want. Please don’t worry about its price.”
Qin Haodong realized that this girl had suddenly grown up in half of a day. She was much more mature than before.
“You’re so considerate.”
Qin Haodong patted Li Meiyu on the shoulder and said, “If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask me.”
Then, he left the Villa with Nalan Wushuang.
Li Meiyu quietly watched them leaving and loneliness showed on her face. Then, she gave a sigh of sorrow.
“Girl, have you fallen in love with him?”
Li Dongguo, who was standing behind Li Meiyu, saw the expression on his granddaughter’s face clearly.
Li Meiyu didn’t need to hide from her grandfather, so she nodded and said softly, “But he has too many girlfriends.”
Li Dongguo replied, “It’s impossible for any woman to monopolize a great man like Medical Sage. If you really like him, you must be prepared to accept other women.”
Li Meiyu said sadly, “Even if I can accept them, he doesn’t like me. After all, all his girlfriends are excellent and can help him a lot. But I can’t.”
Li Dongguo said, “You’re also a great girl! Our family has hundreds of millions of property and is also a famous family in Hong Kong. You can make some achievements to impress him.”
“I understand, grandpa.”
Li Meiyu was full of fight now.
Now, in a valley of Thailand, the sun was s.h.i.+ning brightly. It looked like a fairyland with the flouring plants and beautiful rivers and mountains.
There was a grand temple on the hillside. It covered a vast area and an old monk was sitting in the wide courtyard.
The monk, who was about in his 70s or 80s, was wearing a red frock and looked solemn. He was a short fat guy. He was about 1.7 meters but weighed more than 100 kilograms.
This was Song Gang, the famous Buddhist monk in Thailand. He was an eminent monk in public but in private, he had a secret ident.i.ty—the Great Master of Bewitching Spells.
The door of the temple was opened and two men in black came in with a sack.
“Monk, this is the blood food you want.”
Song Gang opened his eyes and said, “Open the sack and then come out.”
“Yes, Master Song Gang!”
They opened the sack and inside was a young man in his 20s.
“What are you doing? Why did you catch me and bring me here?” The young man looked around and his eyes immediately lit up when he saw Song Gang. He stepped forward and pleaded, “Master, please save me.”
Song Gang said with a kind smile on his face, “Don’t worry, young man. I’ll release your souls from purgatory.”
Then, he waved his hands and two men in black immediately left the room and closed the door of the temple.
The young man signed with relief after watching the two men leave. He asked, “Master, where is this? How can I go back?”
Song Gang said, “It’s quite easy. I’ll send you back right now.”
Then his expression suddenly changed. The kindness on his face immediately disappeared and his face was as ferocious as a ghost living in h.e.l.l.
Song Gang shook his arms and let out of a hoa.r.s.e growl. Then a horrible thing happened. Countless red beetles crawled out of his body.
Some of these beetles were as big as one-yuan coin while others looked like sesame seeds. They were mixed together and were flooding out of his body, which made the young man’s hair stand on end.
After releasing these insects, Song Gang suddenly lost more than half of his weight. With a weight of about 35 or 40 kilograms, he looked skinny and was a completely different person now.
These red beetles rushed at the young man and covered him in a second.
“Ah!”
The young man let out a terrible cry. He tried to struggle but those beetles were too strong to be gotten rid of.
After two or three minutes, the red beetles, which seemed to be much brighter, returned to Song Gang’s body like a falling tide.
Song Gang regained his previous appearance and became fat again when the last beetle disappeared.
But the young man had already vanished and there was nothing left as if he had never shown up here.
Song Gang sat cross-legged on the floor and was murmuring something. It turned out that he was reciting the Ks.h.i.+tigarbha Scripture to release the young man’s soul from purgatory.
After a while, the door was opened once again and a middle-aged monk in his 40s or 50s rushed in. He was Bonaca, the eldest disciple of Song Gang.
He said in a low voice, “Master, something has happened to Sarah Banta.”
Song Gang stopped reciting and opened his eyes slowly. “What’s going on?”
Bonaca replied, “He went to Hong Kong and was killed there.”
“Who’s the killer? How dare they kill my disciple?”
Song Gang’s face clouded. In fact, he didn’t care about Sarah Banta’s death. He was angry because someone dared to affront him.
He was vicious and vengeful and all his enemies had been killed by him.
Bonaca replied, “I don’t know yet. But he was killed by his own poisonous needle, so I’m sure the killer must be a master.”
“I don’t care who they are. I’ll kill anyone who dares to hurt my disciples.”
Song Gang stood up and said, “Get prepared! We’re going to Hong Kong. Let’s see who the master is.”
Bonaca said respectfully, “Master, please don’t bother yourself about it. I can deal with it.”
But Song Gang said softly, “Hong Kong is rich and many billionaires and great masters are living there. I’ve stayed here for a long time and it’s time to go out and have a look.”
