"Xander…" Yera mumbled. Tears fell from her eyes."Darling... I"m here." She could hear Xander"s voice calling her, but Yera refused to open her eyes. She was afraid that it was just a dream. She was scared to wake up only to find out that Xander"s voice she was hearing was just her imagination.
"Darling… Open your eyes," Yera heard Xander"s voice once more, but she still didn"t open her eyes. She was really scared… What if, once she opened her eyes, Xander was not really there calling her? No! She would not be able to bear it. She could not accept it! She did not want to lose Xander that way. She would rather not be awoken at all.
Yera winced when she felt a warm hand touching her cheek… "Darling, please wake up. It"s me. I"m here," Xander"s voice followed that gentle touch.
Yera slowly opened her eyes and saw his familiar figure.
He was there, sitting on the side of the bed, caressing her face. Yera immediately sat up and reached to cup his face, making sure she was touching a real flesh.
"You"re safe? You"re alright?" She whispered as tears continue to fall from her eyes. Xander gave her a gentle smile and nodded.
Upon knowing that it was not a dream, Yera burst out bawling. She hugged Xander tightly, very tightly because she thought that she had lost him.
She mumbled in between her bawl, "I thought I lost you!"
"I don"t want to lose you…" Yera added. Her heart was filled with a sense of relief. She was bursting with joy because Xander was safe. His warmth and familiar scent indicated that she was not dreaming. He was alive, and he was here with her...
She felt Xander gently pushed her to have a better look at her as he asked, "What did you say?"
Yera was sobbing really hard that she almost ended up with hiccups. "Huh?" She asked Xander with teary eyes and a red nose.
"I said I don"t want to lose you…" Yera sniveled. She had started to calm down and was now looking at Xander with puppy dog eyes. Xander wiped the tears off her face and asked, "Why?"
Yera stared at Xander, who was looking straight into her eyes as he gently repeated his question. "Why you don"t want to lose me?" His voice was full of patience, but he was holding his breath as he waited for Yera"s answer.
He was really hoping that Yera would tell him how she really felt.
He had lost control of his jet ski. For some reason, it had sped up on its own, and he was unable to stir it in any direction. It was as though someone was remotely controlling it. He was busy checking the problem and did not notice that he was heading toward a yacht.
Dr. Yao, who had been following him around, saw it. She shouted at him several times, telling him to jump. The two of them were able to jump off their vehicles only just in time. They dove into the water right before the collision, as well as the explosion happened. He was grateful to Dr. Yao. Without her warning, he was sure he would have not been here to hold his darling right now.
When he emerged back up from the water, he saw Dr. Yao was also alive and swimming not far from him. Then he heard Yera shouting from a distance, and he was shocked to see her swim and struggle toward the explosion.
He quickly swam to her, and all he could hear was his name from her mouth before she pa.s.sed out. She was calling his name several times, pleading, "Please... Save my husband, please…"
"Why don"t you want to lose me, Yera?" Xander repeated his question in a serious voice while his eyes were penetrating her, deep into her soul.
Why didn"t she want to lose him? She had only one reason for that...
She remembered Rizie"s advice, telling her to be honest about what she truly felt in her heart. And after being utterly shaken from today"s experience, she realized that she could have really lost Xander just like that, in the blink of an eye. She did not want to deny her feelings anymore and have regrets. Her heart knew what she truly desired… And it was Xander…
"I love you…" Yera whispered as she stared into his eyes, locking his gaze with hers. He had such a bright and clear pair of eyes, which made her feel safe and secure. Through his eyes, she found her home, and she would want to stay in that home forever.
Xander could not believe what he heard, and it took him some time to process her words. His eyebrows knitted as he asked again, "What did you just say?" He wanted to confirm that he heard it right because at that moment, he suddenly felt that he was dreaming.
Yera pouted her lips while she was still staring at Xander with hazy eyes. But, instead of just repeating the words, she pulled Xander closer and encircled her arms on his neck before she sealed his lips with hers as she whispered, "I said, I love you!"
Xander was on cloud nine. Finally, he heard those three magical words from his wife, the only love of his life.
Xander pulled away from the kiss and asked, "I"m not dreaming, am I?" Yera smiled at him and shook her head.
She kissed Xander"s forehead as she said, "l." Then she kissed the tip of his nose as she uttered, "LOVE. Followed by a peck on his lips as she finished her sentence. "YOU."
"Still not enough?" Yera asked as she rested her arms on Xander"s shoulders. Xander didn"t respond and only stared at her in bewilderment, so Yera kissed his lips again with loud smacking sounds as she repeatedly said, "I love you. I love you. I love you…"
"Alright, stop it, or I will take you…" Xander whispered in a hoa.r.s.e voice as Yera was now showering his whole face with soft little kisses while she kept saying the words, "I love you."
But Yera did not feel like stopping. Instead, she looked at Xander longingly before she moved to sit on his lap and kissed his lips pa.s.sionately.
"I want you to take me and love me forever…" Yera whispered in between her ardent kiss.
She was not planning to waste any more time. She wanted to give Xander her everything… All of her to her darling husband...
