After a moment, Lan Waihu decided to sit still and did not move an inch. It looked like her bodily movements had been restricted by a locking spell. Luckily, she seemed unharmed. In that brief moment, Yan Chen finally had the time to realize the severity of his wound. Lan Waihu"s knife had almost cut his heart open. Any ordinary mortal would have already been long gone by now. Fortunately, his level-ten spiritual power was the life support that he needed.
If Lan Waihu had driven the knife any deeper, nothing would be able to save his life. His wound needed immediate medical attention. There was no time to lose.
Di Fuyi had to leave Lan Waihu aside and a.s.sist Yan Chen with his injuries first. Di Hao already told him that Yan Chen must be kept alive; otherwise, bad things were going to happen.
Di Hao watched as his father worked on the wound and was perplexed. "Father, his heart is cut. You may need to st.i.tch it up with your spiritual power. Why don"t you do it right away?"
Di Fuyi was performing the surgery from a distance. He did not even touch Yan Chen. Hence, the operation looked like a show to Di Hao.
Di Fuyi continued to perform the surgery with quick movements on his fingers, sending streaks of spiritual power on the surrounding of the wound. "Your mother gets jealous easily. She will probably feel bad if I touch another person," Di Fuyi finally explained.
Di Hao was speechless. He could not quite understand Celestial Master Zuo"s reasoning. Medical surgeries often required certain levels of physical contact, which was completely understandable. Moreover, Yan Chen was a man. Why would Xijiu get jealous of him, anyway?
Yan Chen was bewildered when Di Fuyi brought up his mother. Could the boy be Xijiu"s child? He had never heard about any of it from her. She had never even mentioned the resurrection of Celestial Master Zuo.
"Focus," Di Fuyi urged. "Use the Udumbara Mantra to channel the spiritual power in your body to the wound. Keep your mind still, and at ease, unless you want to become handicapped."
Yan Chen kept silent and did as told.
Celestial Master Zuo was still the same – unforgiving with his straightforwardness, but what terrified Yan Chen the most was that his breathing had slowly become more and more difficult.
Yan Chen finally realized that he should not let his mind wander anymore. He needed to focus and regulate his vitals like what Di Fuyi had told him. With his eyes closed, Yan Chen could not see what happened next. However, as soon as Yan Chen started meditating, Di Hao clearly saw that there was a red bug crawling out of the wound.
The bug was only the size of a mosquito, but he managed to catch a glimpse of its pointy mouth that was still glistening like a metal blade. As soon as the bug emerged, it was ready to extend its wings and leaped into the air. However, Di Fuyi sent a streak of seven-colored ray and wrapped the bug in a bubble of light. Surprisingly, the tiny bug was still floundering about in the grasp of the light. It was powerful enough to shake the bubble.
Baffled, Di Fuyi had never come across the bug, though he had seen many things before.
"The thing looks hideous! Father, kill it with a needle!" Di Hao promptly suggested.
Di Fuyi took a look at Di Hao. He wanted to burn the thing at first but changed his mind. He took out a needle and pointed it at the hideous bug. The bug tried to avoid it, but could never get any faster than Di Fuyi"s flying needle. Soon, it was punched with a hole in its body and slowly disappeared at the tip of the needle.

In the depths of the base of the Blue Fox family, there was a house.
Duan Muyan did not join others at the airbase. Instead, he sat in his room on a futon while performing a series of complicated enchantment at his fingertips. A black bowl was placed in front of him. A faint streak of red light steadily encapsulated the black metal bowl.
There was a red bug in the bowl that was the size of a tennis ball.
