Ian couldn"t bear staying in the crazy woman"s lair for much longer.
Before he could see Joanna once again, Ian didn"t resist eating the meals provided by the mad woman; it was better to eat her food rather than starve to death, otherwise, he would have no chance to reunite with his G.o.ddess Joanna.
Vivienne kept him imprisoned in the room that was furnished according to his liking. Out of nowhere, the mad woman began to mutter incoherent words continually. Many of the words were unrelated, and yet she strung them together into sentences without reason. How could anyone comprehend her madness?
Suddenly, his G.o.ddess Joanna fell from the sky and directly shattered the window by the balcony. She proudly stood upon the debris while Vivienne glared at her with disdain. "You vulgar woman!" Vivienne"s stare was filled with madness and anger; even her tight grasp of the cage was forceful enough to suffocate a person….If he wasn"t in a cage, Ian believed that he would have been crushed by her hands.
Joanna had changed her attire for the trip. A dress wasn"t fit for such a venture, so she put on a pair of boots and pants, along with a black cloak full of blue runes. The small umbrella that she usually brought was replaced by a wooden staff.
Not just that, she even brought her three pets: the crow perched on her wooden staff, the lizard on her shoulder, and the turtle on the side of her backpack. They looked so comfortable that Ian felt a bit jealous. No matter how strangely Joanna was dressed at this time, Ian thought she was very beautiful in his eyes…..His G.o.ddess had come to rescue him even though she could replace him with any frog she encountered on the road. And yet she came back for him. Even if he died at this moment, he would die content.
"Last time I was careless." Joanna walked slowly, one step at a time. "So this time, to show you my respect, I brought along all of my familiars. Dark Witch, I hope you"ve treated my little frog well, otherwise don"t blame me for being impolite."
Joanna glanced around the room and scoffed at Vivienne"s taste. With such a mediocre taste, how could she claim to be the Duke"s daughter?
"D**n it!" Vivian screamed, and the black shadows emerged from her once again. Joanna was no longer polite like last time. The wooden staff in her hand swung and the crow also flew into the air.
Blue flames lit up the sky!
Ian watched from within his cage as Vivienne scream and struggled; within the commotion, his cage was accidentally tossed into the air and rolled unto the ground. It was quickly lifted by the Crow"s claws and was sent to Joanna"s arms.
The bird was no longer an ordinary crow—not just its physique, its black feathers were engulfed in gorgeous blue flames. The demonic bird caused Vivienne to scream in pain as it shot blue flames to scorch her entire body. Once again, it was the two dark shadows that appeared to extinguish the fire on her skin….it seems that apart from those two demons, the mad woman had no other magic.
Joanna released the frog from his cage and gently caressed the wounds on his back, which he suffered from the collision earlier. "Well, I"ve come for you. You"re okay now. Once I"m done here, I"ll take you home and make sure this never happens again. Does it hurt?"
"Let him go, he is mine!" The shadows tried to break through the circle of fire that protected Joanna, but none of them could approach her.
Joanna stared indifferently at the crazy woman who screamed in rage, completely ignoring her own wounds…..Yes, the woman was definitely insane. If she wasn"t crazy, wouldn"t she tend to her scorched wounds first instead of yelling at her?
Joanna was tired of dealing the frenzied lady. With her sensitivity to magic, Joanna was quite sure that Vivienne sacrificed countless lives for the two shadow"s loyalty.
Black Magic is loathsome.
After placing the lizard on the ground, Joanna stepped back and leapt out the window before landing on the lawn. She looked back at the mansion as the building lit up with an even greater flame.
