Keira looked at the studio admiringly. It was the last day of her interns.h.i.+p and she was excited about how much she had learned during the time she spent there.

Every day, editors, reporters, producers and a.s.signment desk personnel gathered in the morning to decide what they believed to be relevant for their respective audiences and stakeholders. During those meetings, she had the opportunity to take part in literally hundreds of different editorial discussions to evaluate the "newsworthiness" of stories.

She had learned a lot as a part of the newsroom staff.

"One day, I"ll become one of the best news anchors of that area," she mused with a bright smile. She often practiced alone when everyone had already left. It was a career she would love to pursue and excel with. Her main target was the primetime news program.

"Your graduation is near," said Mr. Holmes, the news director for the primetime daily news program, where she spent most of the time of her interns.h.i.+p.

"Yes, Sir. I can"t wait to be a part of your team, this station..." she said smiling, full of excitement.

"I hope to see you soon then… Make sure you prepare well for the audition and pa.s.s it," he said encouragingly.

He believed that Keira had the complete package to be a good news anchor, not just because of her pleasing personality, beauty, and charm. He had observed her well enough during her interns.h.i.+p to surely want someone like her in his team.

Keira absolutely loved a challenge. She often came out to offer help with hard tasks. Sometimes, he was even worried that something might happen to her. Field Marshal Chan would definitely bury him alive if she had one tiniest scratch on her, but Keira was stubborn and he liked it.

She thrived under pressure, she was someone who could think about possible solutions during a crisis without even panicking.

Keira was also good at handling criticism. He remembered when the staff often bullied her by saying that she was arrogant and was nothing without her parents" name.

He could easily recall her excellent reply to that comments as she said with pouted lips, "I am thick-skinned enough to realize that I can"t please everybody all the time."

His thoughts were interrupted when Keira laughed and stated, "I"ll surely be one of your main anchors one day, Sir! So prepare to see me again very soon!"

Mr. Holmes also laughed. That was what he loved the most about Keir her positive energy. She had that mentality that all the things would work out to the absolute best no matter what happened.

"Well, we are only open for reporters now. You will surely have a long way to go, darling..." he said still laughing.

"Noted, Sir! It"s okay, I don"t mind to start from the bottom then climb the career ladder soon," Keira answered enthusiastically with a wink.

Mr. Holmes chuckled as he shook his head.

"Keira, I would like to share with you an important secret. The best news anchors and live reporters make their work look easy, but it isn"t. Beyond voice, looks or delivery, the best possess what I call "skills without a script"," murmured Mr. Holmes as a reminder, though he knew that Keira already had that in her.

That "skills without a script" were built on mental agility, critical thinking, and continuous learning.

Keira nodded and understood Mr. Holmes. She really would love to work with him in the future.

She had seen that anchors communicate with command, comfort, and clarity, even - or especially - when a story was developing so rapidly that formats and scripts were useless.

"By the way, Sir, why are you still here? Shouldn"t you be leaving now?" said Keira as she looked at her wrist.w.a.tch.

"Let"s go down together, it"s already late, you should go home too…" he said and led Keira towards the door.

Outside, Keira noticed that the conference room"s light was still on.

"There"s a meeting at this hour?" she asked out of curiosity.

"Yeah, you heard that they will replace Janice soon, right? Well, they have already found one of the best and they are finalizing her contract." Mr. Holmes said.

"Janice is good, and I like her. She"s one of the best, but I guess she needs a rest," she said in her low tone as she sympathized with Janice who had been diagnosed with cancer and needed to resign and focus on her health.

"They got one of the best and she"s really good. She"s a worldwi…" Mr. Holmes words were cut when the elevator opened and he greeted one of the managers inside.

Keira pressed the bas.e.m.e.nt because she was not comfortable with her minions picking her up at the main exit.

Inside the car, she immediately asked, "John, I want some good news when will I hear about it?"

John gulped as he looked at Jim who was driving and signaled him to go on and report it…

"He is still alive, Miss Keira… Safe and sound…" said John as he handed her a tablet.

Keira bit her lip, seeing Zach"s latest photo.

"Look at how haggard he looks…" she murmured seeing the beard and mustache that had grown on Zach"s face.

"He succeeded, Miss Keira, and will definitely return soon…" said John as he continued to report about the progress and outcome that Zach and his team had already got.

This was top-secret information, but he was able to gain access to the Military Data. He was the only person who could probably do that. He and Jim were not just simple bodyguards for their Miss, they were one of the bests in their leagues.

Keira let out a long sigh. Her birthday was coming soon… She would soon turn twenty-one…

She had grown so much…

She was no longer the Keira who would boldly chase Zach like before.

She was more mature… Her tactics would be a bit different than before…

Because she was more wicked and mischievous now…

So she was not sure if it"s a good or a bad thing for Zach...
