"Thanks for the advice" She managed to say at the man"s back who was hurrying to walk away from her again. The man"s words made Xhemin a little unsafe to be near the stable master who was still standing there in the middle of the chaos with so much impatience in his face."It seems that he is someone who can let a person lick a dust easily and going against him is like banging your head on a brick wall"
However, despite the unpleasant feeling that grew inside her for the stable master, Xhemin decided to stay a bit. She wanted to get a good a.s.sessment of the horses that was brought in to know how far they were from bridge of death brought by the Staw disease.
After few minutes of eyeing and trailing a couple of horses, Xhemin was about to leave and head out back to lab. She thought of writing every information she collected and maybe start making some serum, although she was not sure whether they will have the opportunity to feed it up to these horses.
"Better to be ready right?"
She made a step back, but on her way out, one particular trailer caught her attention back to the barn"s yard. Her eyes s.h.i.+mmered with new curiosity when a loud whinny sounded from the trailer, followed by more banging.
"Another horse that wanted to get free"
It was a black Morgan stallion horse, compact and muscular and it has a well-defined and arched neck. Three laborers were trying to offload it from the truck, and she could see from their actions that they were rather careful in dealing with it.
Is this it? The important horse? Darryl"s horse?
Xhemin breathed, watching the horse with awe and reverence. She can"t be mistaken, this is the Lagdameo horse everyone was fussing about. Seeing herself in front of majestic horse almost twice her size, she couldn"t help and envisage how Darryl would look like riding this particular horse. Their composure, att.i.tude and aura fit perfectly together.
"Careful…careful…" The stable master yelled at the three "That horse is more precious that your lives" he added with insolence.
The stable master jogged to the trailer"s direction, barely flicking Xhemin some courtesy and started pointing and instructing his men to a.s.sist with the offloading of the horse that was currently throwing some animal tantrums.
"Beastly like his master" Xhemin thought.
Everyone in the barn halted, rapt their attention toward the horse and the laborers who were maneuvering the trailer around to the corral. Like his master, the horse presence was very demanding and terrorizing.
"Very Lagdameo"
Xhemin made a step back over the fence, leery of the animal that was acting wild and to make way for laborers who were trying to dominate it. She stood in one corner to watch the whole mess and caught some good a.s.sessment of the stallion"s condition. When she had a good gasp of it, worry swirled into her eyes. She wanted to get a hold of the horse or touched its skin, but her actions were constrained at the moment. All she could do was watch it with rapt attention while its graceful stallion black skin shone under the late afternoon sun and while the laborers dragged it together away from the trailer.
"That"s bad. This horse need treatment right away".
Because the stable master was eyeing their every move, the laborers tensed up, but they were able to offload the horse successfully. But as soon as they close the gates and secured it, the horse whinnied and attempted to destroy the fence. Good thing the fence was strong enough to confine the animal for now but Xhemin guessed that after few days of banging against it, it will break off easily.
"Oh buddy, you need to get used to it till you"ll be okay"
The stable master came closer to the stallion"s fence and the horse barreled toward him immediately. If not because of the fence, it had successfully crashed down the stable master to the ground.
"Naughty horse!" He said as he jumped away from the fence almost falling from his composure "Easy there!"
"I"m sorry old man but the beast"s horse doesn"t like you" Xhemin thought as she hid a grin from her face.
The stable master decided to stay put and observe it from a far being mindful and cautious knowing it just recently charged on him. He gave it a good look before he called to someone.
"Give it some water, this horse is thirsty…" The stable master commanded as he eyed on the horse who prance around the holding yard in an antsy way as though something was making it mad.
Xhemin"s nerve quickened on what she heard. Water?
The laborer went on and came back carrying a bucket of water he fetched on a drinking pit stationed nearby. He was about to pour water on a pipe few meters away from the stallion"s pen. Upon seeing it, Xhemin realize the pipe leads to the inside of the pen into a drinking cup-like structure made for animals to drink into.
Are they seriously giving it water to drink?
"Hey wait!" Xhemin shouted to the man who was pouring water making him froze his task immediately with so much confusion in his face.
