On hearing Su Han’s remarks, Lu Jia’er couldn’t help but shake her head. “Your venom is as good as that of a cobra!”
Su Han stroked her hair in a scholar’s style with an amorous feeling. She sucked a mouthful of milk through her straw before she replied, “Perhaps it is the truth!”
“Since you feel sick, why did you still scrounge a meal from him tonight?” Lu Jia’er glanced at her.
“This meal has just barely covered my appearance fee!” Su Han replied, smiling.
Lu Jia’er couldn’t help but shake her head as she turned around and left the dining room. Su Han also got up and caught up with her. “Interview time. What did you learn and think today after you went to BUA? Did you see Jin Xiangdong? Does your R&D team consist exclusively of reserved and dull male IT professionals!”
“As a writer, you should not be biased against any group!” Lu Jia’er said as she was walking into her room.
Su Han followed Lu Jia’er. “I am not biased. These are the conclusions drawn through repeated observation and study!”
Lu Jia’er opened the closet and took out a set of beige silk pajamas. “That can only mean that your observation and study are not thorough enough!”
Su Han leaned against the door with a smile, her lips lifting. “So you must have been very happy to work at BUA today! Because you saw a certain someone!”
“He is naturally one of the reasons. But I get along well with all his team members!” Lu Jia’er was frank with her on the matter.
“Does you love for him even extend to the crows on his roof?” the smile on Su Han’s face became jocose 1 .
“I am still not ent.i.tled to say this at the moment!” Lu Jia’er walked toward the door with her pajamas.
Su Han reached her hand out to place it on Lu Jia’er’s shoulder. “Since you have already been a lamb in the mouth of the wolf, you will be ent.i.tled sooner or later.”
Lu Jia’er turned around and glanced at her. “Who is the lamb? And who is the wolf?”
“You are, of course, the wolf!” Su Han said, and then laughed at Lu Jia’er.
Lu Jia’er reached out and patted Su Han’s hand on her shoulder as Su Han murmured in her mind: You are now at the age of a hungry wolf!
…
After Lu Jia’er joined Jin Xiangdong’s team, although she did not have to go to work nine to five like the other members she also actively began to work along the direction of the R & D team. As a matter of course, her teaching work would not be neglected.
Today Jin Shengping would come give a speech on campus. Lu Jia’er arrived at the school early in the morning and felt an electric atmosphere that was unprecedented. This is not only a grand event for B University, but also a key piece of news in City B, and it went without saying, even across the whole country it attracted a lot of focus. In order to receive everyone properly in accordance to an event of this importance, B University also set up a special working group.
Lu Jia’er was asked on short notice to partic.i.p.ate in the collaborative work required for the reception today. In the past, Lu Jia’er had had no interest at all in receiving leaders or celebrities. But she was honored to be named this time. Because perhaps she could get in close contact with Jin Shengping again!
Jin Shengping gave very few speeches, but his appearance fee was extremely high. Wherever he went, tickets were sold out early. Even during the free speeches he gave at Harvard and Oxford, the audience had queued up. This time, Jin Shengping’s return speech was free. This was because of three reasons. Firstly, although he had been abroad for decades; he still had a pure and clear, wandering heart. Secondly, he had been invited by his old friend Academician Yuan Xin. But the most important reason was that it was a sacred and unshirkable duty as a scientist to let young people in this country know more about science.
