Chapter 1006: Giving In

Lu Li wasn’t clueless about Water Fairy’s concern.
The commander position probably wouldn’t land on him this time, unless Sorrowless didn’t choose to partic.i.p.ate in the Blackrock Spire Celebrity Group.
However, there was no way that Sorrowless would give up the spot. A commander was equivalent to having another position, and the reward was sixteen Legendary equips. After the equips were divided amongst the fifteen players, the commander could obtain the last piece.
Not to mention, the commander position helped to raise the personal reputation of a player.
Based on the history of the gaming industry, any legendary figure needed to at least have some sort of ability to direct others.
For a while now, Lu Li had been focusing on making Goblin Jumper Cables.
Despite the chances of failure, these items still allowed anyone to revive others and helped prevent some experience lost when Healers weren’t around.
Besides the small number that were supplied to the guild storage, most of the items were given to Shen Wansan.
Upon entering March, Lu Li had earned around 6 million dollars in term of real money. Some of this was the profit made by the Noggenfogger Elixir.
Lu Li had finished paying the sum he owed to Water Fairy.
It felt freeing to not have any debts. His next target now was to save enough money to buy a bigger house; it wasn’t ideal to keep renting.
The players in the elite group kept saying that Lu Li was lucky to be renting a house with so many beauties.
However, Lu Li wasn’t interested in all these girls at all. He felt that it was inappropriate for him to keep living with them, so moving out became the next most important thing for him.
Besides this, the rest of the money was invested into the game.
The club was like a bottomless pit. After Lu Li had discovered his ambition, he needed a large sum of money to support it.
All men had ambition hidden within them; they all wanted to stand on a peak and be admired. No matter where he ended up, he refused to be judged by others and didn’t want to beg others either.
“I’m Shang Guan Yun Luo. You can just call me Shang Guan.”
The man that had come was traditional and arrogant, and sat down opposite to Lu Li
They were at a location in the game with some dancers nearby. It was hard to tell if these dancers were real players or NPCs. The customers sat across from each other, drinking their tea with waiters beside them to serve them.
Unfortunately, none of this mattered.
Lu Li had never received any proper education; it was hard for him to understand these cultures.
He had a mask on and there was barely any emotion in his eyes. If he kept quiet, no one would be able to tell that he didn’t understand anything.
“Mr. Shang Guan, what brings you to me?” Lu Li asked.
He didn’t really like people from the gaming company – they were like the police force in real life. They never had anything friendly with lowlifes like himself.
“I’m sure you would have heard about the recent forming of the Blackrock Spire Celebrity Group,” Shang Guan Yun Luo said.
“I’ve heard about it from some, but what does this have to do with me. I’m not a celebrity compet.i.tor yet.” Lu Li sat tensely on the tatami; he didn’t seem as happy as Shang Guan Yun Luo had antic.i.p.ated.
“This is just a matter of process, haha…”
“If you want me to go, I want to have the commanding position.” Lu Li wasn’t laughing at all.
Up until this point, he had never begged anyone, not even at his most difficult times. There was no way that he would try and befriend Shang Guan Yun Luo and find ways to obtain the commanding position.
Shang Guan Yun Luo originally thought that he had misheard, but he realized that he saw nothing but determination in Lu Li’s eyes. This was when he asked in shock, “Do you have a clue what you’re saying?”
“The commanding position…” Lu Li emphasized his point again.
“Nonsense!” Shang Guan Yun Luo shouted as he stood up, then laughed coldly, “You’re just a newbie in the gaming industry and earned your position by being lucky. How dare you ask for this position…”
“There’s no need to be angry,” Lu Li said calmly. “It’s only a simple answer of yes or no.”
“Impossible! I think things are going too well for you lately – you’re too arrogant. I didn’t expect you to be someone like this. Let’s wait and see,” Shang Guan Fun Luo dismissed as he waved his hands and turned to leave. He didn’t feel like he had anything else to say with Lu Li.
“In that case, let’s hope the Blackrock Spire Celebrity Group can finish the dungeon quickly,” Lu Li said slowly.
“What do you mean?” Shang Guan Yun Luo asked and couldn’t help but halt his steps.
He had sensed some sort of threat from Lu LI’s words, in the exact same tone as his own.
“Spider’s Lair, Death Mines, Howling Caves, Scarlet Monastery, Zul’Farrk…” Lu Li listed all of the public dungeons since the game had been released, then continued, “These dungeons were all completed first under my command…”
“So what? The best players from the game are all partic.i.p.ating this time.” Shang Guan Yun Luo wasn’t too concerned.
“There are currently twelve level 50 players in the China area, and nine of them are in Ruling Sword. I honestly cannot understand what threat those top players can pose to me. This isn’t a match,” Lu Li said in a confused tone.
He had been locked away these days, focusing on making Goblin Jumper Cables. The top position of the chart had been stolen by Lonesome Flower and even Azure Sea Breeze had rushed past him.
Lu Li was currently ranked third, and number four to twelve were all level 50 players. Most of them were from Ruling Sword.
“Their techniques are the best of the best,” Shang Guan Yun Luo said, but he wasn’t so sure anymore.
He had only just discovered that Lu Li wasn’t only arrogant, but he had evidence for his claims.
But was he going to play against the gaming company just because of this?
That was too irrational. The main job of Shang Guan Yun Luo was to sort out gaming-related issues. He often represented the gaming company and all the people that he came in contact with were either top players or club owners like Lu Li.
However, each and every one of them paid him full respect. None dared to treat him like Lu Li.
“If you’re so certain, then do as you say. We’ll see,” Lu Li said, not bothering to debate with him. This was clearly someone who looked down on him and didn’t want to set down his position as a representative for the gaming company. His words were full of intentions for Lu Li to give in.
Giving in?
Lu Li wasn’t someone who acted on impulse, and neither was he someone of greed. This whole time, he had been waiting for the gaming company to step down while everything was under his control.
There was no way he would give in on his own!
