A team of forty quickly gathered. Lu Li had the option of bringing more along, but the Blightcaller had a skill with effects that could spread. Players within four yards of each other would spread the status and the more a player was impacted, the more damage the skill did.
A few others were placed in different locations to ambush Horde players.
"Friend, how have you been?"
Nathanos Blightcaller"s eyes glistened, and his voice was calm like still water.
"Respected Ranger, we"ve received a command this time. We hope that your soul can once again return to peace," Lu Li went ahead and greeted him. This was quite awkward, considering they received help before from this NPC.
"I saw this day coming. Come on, I"m not the type to calmly face death!"
Nathanos Blightcaller blew a whistle and two Blighthounds appeared and pounced over. They grew to the size of bulls in midair, and Lu Li immediately had two tanks rush up to tank them.
s.h.i.+eld Bash, ineffective!
Global Friends.h.i.+p quickly used a taunt skill. Fortunately it was effective and he managed to pull one of the Blighthounds.
The other one was pulled by G.o.d of Destiny.
"We can attack now. Healers, look after everyone," Lu Li instructed as he held onto Water Fairy, preventing her from rus.h.i.+ng into battle.
The Blighthound began to cast Plague Cloud and the health of the two tanks dropped rapidly. Even Lu Li and Water Fairy wouldn"t be able to hold up for more than a few seconds.
This was why Lu Li had all the melee players on the side to attack Nathanos Blightcaller, while the other ranged damagers were in charge of the two Blighthounds. Plague Cloud was instant death for any close-combat cla.s.s.
Azure Sea Breeze was in charge of pulling Nathanos Blightcaller. He had about six hundred thousand health points, and wouldn"t die any time soon.
"Dreamy, do you want to catch a blue dog as a pet?" Lu Li asked; Blighthounds were blue in color.
"Sure, sure," Remnant Dream agreed as she nodded her head, "Although, they"re a little ugly, and I"ve never seen dogs that are blue."
"Then follow my instructions and don"t mess up, alright?"
Lu Li was using private chat to communicate this. He didn"t plan to have anyone else know how to catch the Blighthound. If another Hunter tried, they were guaranteed a failing result.
There wasn"t a trick to catch the Blighthound, but rather a bug.
"Focus on the Blighthound on the left, and stop when it drops to around 50% health," Lu Li instructed.
The two Blighthounds were semi-Bosses with around a hundred thousand health points, so they dropped to 50% relatively quickly.
Lu Li had the players stop damaging the hounds for a bit, and had Global Friends.h.i.+p chip away at the Hound. Once its health bar reached 50%, Lu Li had Remnant Dream cast a Domesticate spell.
Of course, it failed and everyone continued to attack.
Remnant Dream casted Domesticate at 30%, but cancelled it halfway during the channel. She repeated it again at 20% health, but cancelled it at 1/3 of the cast bar.
At 5% health, Remnant Dream went up once more to use Domesticate. This time, after Domesticate was completed, the Blighthound disappeared and became Remnant Dream"s pet.
Although the tamed Blighthound wouldn"t have the same strength, it kept the Plague Cloud skill. The pet could cast the skill over 30 seconds and effectively boost the leveling speed of the Hunter.
The second hound was caught by Beard Stubble. He was second to Remnant Dream and was a trustworthy team member.
It was hard for these semi-Bosses to drop anything good, so it wasn"t a loss for the Hunters to capture them as pets.
Seeing that both of his pets had been caught, Nathanos Blightcaller casted Soul Shriek. The range of the spell was large, and the players began running in all different directions.
At the same time, he tossed a Plague Fever spell into the crowd.
The first target was Lonesome Flower. He wasn"t impacted by Soul Shriek, but there were players within four yards of him. Some players affected by Soul Shriek even ran towards him.
"Flower, refrigerate!" Lu Li shouted.
Lonesome Flower activated Ice Barrier and turned into a block of ice, cancelling out the Plague Fever effect.
However, Jaweika, who was nearby, was affected and pa.s.sed it onto Nuo Yu...
Just as this was unfolding, some Horde players finally found out that their NPC, Nathanos Blightcaller was being attacked by Alliance players.
How could this happen!
The Plaguelands were a shared map, so many Horde players rushed over as soon as they received the information.
They were caught by the outer teams of Ruling Sword and died before they even saw their opponents. They could talk if they were on the same faction, and anyone who didn"t want to play against a big club like Ruling Sword would back away. However, there was no communication between the opposing factions; it was a situation of life or death.
After a few waves of Horde players died, they began to realize who was ambus.h.i.+ng them.
It would be a silly to continue rus.h.i.+ng to their death.
Of course, the Horde players wouldn"t sit by and accept the situation. They began to call others in the faction channel.
"Ruling Sword is attacking Nathanos Blightcaller in the East Plaguelands. Everyone come and help!"
"Lu Li is killing Nathanos Blightcaller. Everyone come and kill Lu Li for his equipment!"
Usually when Alliance guilds were killing wild bosses, Horde players would go and hara.s.s them. Now, one of their very own NPCs was in danger, so they began to show up in all teleport locations of the East Plaguelands. Even the elite group members of major Horde guilds became involved and the numbers continued to grow.
If Ruling Sword was the only guild, they really wouldn"t dare to play against so many Horde players.
However, Drizzle Court and Peerless City were also watching the map under Water Fairy"s command. Many random Alliance players also came to join the fight when they heard that a faction fight was happening in East Plaguelands.
If there was any event that all players were interested in, it would have to be the faction war.
They weren"t afraid of death or losing equipment – they did it simply for their pa.s.sion.
