Chapter 1366: Garr

“No need, no need,” Sakura Memories said as she waved her hands, “I managed to level up so quickly because of all of you and I have already been awarded so many things. I’m happy to give this to the guild; I don’t need a share in it. I don’t really have a use for it anyway.”
“But this is something the System has given to you,” Lu Li and the others responded.
“You know, I’m not a newbie. I know what the other clubs have been doing. The fact that Lu Li allowed me to be the first level 60 is already something grateful for.”
Sakura Memories had played several other games before. She had already been stopped a few times before from levelling and thought that it would be the same this time. She didn’t expect Lu Li to allow her to reach level 60.
After exchanging a few more words, Lu Li continued to refuse this gift.
In the end, the originally calm Sakura Memories became a little angry.
“I am also a member of the guild and a veteran. Why can’t I do something for the guild? Or do you view me as a foreigner?”
When this was said, Lu Li had nothing to respond with.
The two went straight to the administrative hall of Stormwind City and found the newly-appointed city warfare administrator – Colonel Avery Bradley.
Colonel Bradley didn’t make things difficult for Lu Li. Lu Li had the rank of Lieutenant as awarded by Marshall Maxwell, which demonstrated that he was part of the military system. He stamped the Stronghold map submitted by Sakura Memories, which showed the time of capture.
It was still early in the day, so Lu Li took everyone back to the Instance Dungeon.
The monsters were becoming more difficult to deal with. There were two combinations of monsters – one involving Lava Elementals, Flame Guards and Flame Walkers, and the other involving Lava Predators, Flame Guards and Flame Walkers.
However, no matter what the combination, there was also a group of four monsters and they were referred to as F4.
F4 was a very dangerous group of monsters. Each monster had multiple attacks and the combination of these attacks was very deadly to an unprepared team. Lu Li had just watched his teammates get wiped a few times.
Despite this, the fact that they were wiped wasn’t that bad, as an increased difficulty meant an increased reward.
Lu Li found that the Lava Predators and Lava Elementals could be banished. Once they were banished, they could focus on killing the Flame Walker, which was the most dangerous of the monsters. It could cast ranged skills that reduced everyone’s Fire Resistance and continually cast Fireb.a.l.l.s at a single target for a significant amount of damage. If you didn’t take any defensive measures, the three fireb.a.l.l.s that it cast in one second was enough to kill most players.
Once they killed the Flame Walker, they would deal with the Flame Guard.
After this, the remaining two would not be as dangerous.
After killing another wave of F4s, they finally saw the fourth Boss – Garr. Garr was a lava elemental made of rocks, but he was obviously very intelligent. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have a group of minions protecting him with their lives.
The Boss’ rocky figure looked strange, and when there were two minions, it was quite imposing. However, when the Boss had eight smaller rocky minions following him, the same word couldn’t be used in quite the same way. Lu Li had no way of warning them in advance, so he used the next time they got wiped as a teaching tool.
There wasn’t much else to say about the situation as it unfolded, but after getting wiped several times, they had discovered a few rules.
First, Garr’s minions couldn’t be cleared separately. Any attempt to do so would result in one of two outcomes. The first was that Garr would go Berserk because all his minions were dead, and the second was that the minions could be revived for as long as Garr was still alive.
However, they also discovered another critical point. They could only kill up to four of the minions. If they killed more than four, the Boss would go Berserk.
The next thing they learned was the problem with these minions.
Although these minions didn’t have much attacking strength, they could be sent in on the Boss’ command to explode.
Finally, the Boss could also cast a ma.s.s dispel every now and again (Antimagic Pulse). They had previously enjoyed the convenience brought by March Rain’s Ma.s.s Dispel, but now it was the Boss’ turn to use such a skill. The players also had to worry about being mind-controlled by this dispel skill.
Additionally, there was the Lava Cuff skill that had a slowing effect.
The Boss’ physical attack damage wasn’t actually that high. It dealt a few hundred damage on the Main Tank and a thousand when it was a critical hit. There wasn’t much pressure on the healers, so Lu Li swapped out one of the Priests and got another Warlock. Now, there were four Warlocks in the team.
The reason why they had so many Warlocks was so they could banish the minions.
Garr brought eight minions with him, and they were all moving about quite quickly. The four Warlocks were dumbfounded. Even if Lu Li personally co-ordinated their attacks, it wasn’t easy for them land their Banish skills.
Lu Li thought of a solution, and sent a Mage in.
Deadly Green Orange was the one who received the task. Lonesome Flower didn’t have as much control as her and Short Road’s body was still recovering, so Lu Li didn’t want to subject him to too much stress.
No matter what profession walked up to those monsters, they would stop moving and start attacking them. As they surrounded Deadly Green Orange, Lu Li knew that she could withstand their attacks. Azure Sea Breeze wasn’t allowed to do it because he couldn’t withstand the attacks of all eight minions. She immediately cast Ice barrier, which made her invulnerable to the monsters’ attacks.
The Boss surrounded the player in the Ice Barrier with the minions, who were scattered and no
longer moving.
Under these circ.u.mstances, if the Warlock still couldn’t land their banishes, then Lu Li wouldn’t know what to say.
Four of the minions were banished by the Warlocks and the remaining four were taken by a Warrior or a Paladin. The Boss was naturally being tanked by Azure Sea Breeze.
The most important thing was the banishment, and if that failed, they would have to try again. They needed to be Banished for a while, but the skill was obviously limited by time and could be resisted. This meant that the Warlocks also needed to use some auxiliary skills.
First, they had to establish some aggro before casting Banish, otherwise, these monsters would run away after the duration ended.
In general, it was best to summon a Voidwalker and command it to keep attacking the target. This meant that the first target of the monster would be the Warlock’s Voidwalker. Even if the monster returned, they would attack the Voidwalker first and not run around attacking the players.
Secondly, after successfully using Banish, the Warlock would need to channel a skill to refill the Voidwalker’s HP. After 20 seconds, he would start casting the Banish skill again. If the monster didn’t come out of Banish, they would take a step forward to cancel the skill and start channelling it again. This way, they could apply the Banish as soon as the monster returned without consuming too much mana.
Finally, if the Voidwalker’s HP dropped too low, they could sacrifice the Voidwalker and summon a new one instead .
After the Warlocks were successful, everyone began killing the four remaining rock minions.
