Chapter 1445: Casually Taking It

Could anyone in Dawn be one-shot?
No!
This represented the basic principle of equality. There certainly existed games in the past where the slaughter of a street of players was possible, but these only lasted for short periods of time. Regardless of how capable the players were, it would have been impossible to kill an entire street-worth of players in only a few seconds. This was not possible even if the players did not wear a single item of clothing.
It was the second charge and Lu Li actually even considered killing Sorrowless. Today was no different and his target was simple – restrain Sorrowless, a Mage with high attack, so that he would neither kill people nor direct others to kill.
Ruling Sword once again lost a significant number of people and items. However, the people could be revived, and the items could be replenished with the backups. When they found out that Glory Capital lost four war chariots, everything was worth it. Even if Glory Capital, with its eleven war chariots, possessed special cannonb.a.l.l.s, they would still have been unable to destroy Ruling Sword’s walls.
If there were twenty war chariots attacking with cannonb.a.l.l.s, it wouldn’t be long before the walls would crumble.
The walls were simply not durable enough. Every time they were attacked by one of the special cannonb.a.l.l.s, a large opening would be created. It would only take a few more explosions to establish an opening that could be used by Glory Capital to invade.
“Perhaps they cannot withstand the impact anymore”, White Westhill said in a helpless tone, as he watched Ruling Sword a.s.semble a new wave of attacks. They initially had a high chance of success, but they did not antic.i.p.ate being delayed by Lu Li or being brutally attacked from behind. The success of this attack emboldened Ruling Sword to charge at them in an almost suicidal fas.h.i.+on.
They were increasingly losing their war chariots. There would be no hope once they had less than ten chariots.
“What do you mean? It seems that Ruling Sword have changed their method of attack.”
Sorrowless of course understood. He recalled his actions carefully and concluded that he did not do anything wrong. The main issue was that Lu Li had begun acting differently, as if he had completely changed as a person. Other than the tactic of protecting the resurrection point, which was within his character, he seemed to adopt a different style in the rest of his commands.
“It just doesn’t seem like Lu Li’s style, unless if it’s Wandering.”
Glory Capital had already a.n.a.lysed the situation clearly before battle.
Although Lu Li’s style was detailed and precise, Wandering’s style was deceptive. However, considering Glory Capital’s capabilities, then regardless of which of the two was in charge, they would still be unable to create much impact.
“It’s impossible – Wandering is in Grey Valley. It must be the new commander,” Sorrowless nodded.
“What should we do now?” White Westhill asked.
“Let them continue charging ahead. They have lost so much equipment today. I suspect that it would be difficult for them to progress with Onyxia’s Lair.”
Wandering seemed unwilling, but they had to accept this result. The only thing they could not do was reduce their losses.
Ruling Sword was a.n.a.lysing the state of the battle.
“It doesn’t seem it is necessary to attack like this anymore,” Azure Sea Breeze said. He was concerned Sky Moon was overusing his commanding brain.
“To prevent the unexpected, it is best that we charge one more time. Plus, Glory Capital, I suspect, will no longer use the entirety of their efforts to protect their chariots anymore,” Sky Moon commented, then paused and continued, “We have lost more equipment by comparison, but not by too significant of an amount. What do you think we should do boss?”
“Attack,” Lu Li answered simply. He was still his usual bold self.
Even if they had already lost so much, it really did not matter if they lost a little more. As long as they could secure the Black Sea Coast, then that would amount to success.
Eight clubs had financially contributed to the attack, and Ruling Sword could take a portion of that amount. Plus, after this battle, the Ruling Sword would be able to gain much of their opponent’s weapons, thus compensating for their losses.
Lu Li rushed towards Sorrowless.
It was very different to the a.s.sa.s.sination from a long time ago. Because the circ.u.mstances were so disorderly, there was no one who could come to Sorrowless’ protection.
However, the Sorrowless at this point in time was much different to the Sorrowless before who was unmotivated. The Sorrowless now was at Level 60, and was equipped with top-quality gear. His PVP level, after a period of time and practice, had not only reached his prior peak level, but had actually exceeded it.
After experiencing a surprise attack, Sorrowless was extremely calm. A Frost Nova appeared as soon as he raised his hand.
Lu Li, of course, could not be frozen. He knew what the consequences of being caught would be. He probably ranked first on the list of people that Sorrowless wanted to kill. The person who could kill Lu Li, then seek asylum at Glory Capital, could probably instantly receive the position of an Elite player.
After vanis.h.i.+ng for a while, Lu Li found his second opportunity.
Lu Li now was actually the most in danger, because Sorrowless had directed all his attention to defending himself against him. He couldn’t even afford to divert a second of his attention away, let alone command the battlefield.
However, Lu Li was also on edge. He could feel players hiding in the surrounding area and could sense that his enemies were looking for him.
Blood Dagger!
It was obvious. Lu Li was now in extremely dangerous territory.
What was the point? Lu Li slowly retreated as he did not want to be trapped in the middle. If one of them got hold of him, it would be near impossible to escape.
Sorrowless could not use the full extent of his power, while Blood Dagger was still around, trying to simultaneously protect Sorrowless and capture Lu Li. He had the confidence to capture Lu Li if he was to reveal his location. Even if Lu Li used Gale Steps, the result would be the same. A single second, and Lu Li would be captured.
The appeal of killing Lu Li was too great, and Sorrowless did not want to abandon the opportunity, even though he knew that Lu Li was here to interrupt his goals.
“Boss, we can leave now and destroy their five chariots,” Sky Moon messaged. He observed the situation, and commanded the remainder of the Ruling Sword’s warriors to immediately retreat.
It was unnecessary to persist to the very end. After disposing of ten or so bodies, Sky Moon declared a retreat.
“Ok, going.”
Lu Li suddenly dashed behind a low-HP Mage, then after killing him, picked up his equipment. It was only at this point that he used his special escape abilities to move elsewhere, then cast Gale Steps. He was able to cover a sizeable area using this combination of techniques.
After escaping to a safe area, Lu Li scanned one last time, and nearly laughed out loud.
Staff of Dominance!
This so-called ‘Most-Powerful Mage Weapon’ was the creation of the eight Molten Core Boss and a rare find. He didn’t expect to find such a powerful weapon so easily.
However, in his happiness, Lu Li also felt secretly worried. If an ordinary Mage was equipped with such a legendary weapon, then what kind of weapon would Glory Capital’s boss be wielding.
It was embarra.s.sing, but he couldn’t help but feel respect.
Such a weapon was worth at least the price of three equips, which slightly reduced Ruling Sword’s losses.
It was clear that Glory Capital would not be able to destroy Stronghold wall.
The battle continued for twenty or thirty minutes. The result was that the Ruling Sword had defended their Stronghold, and Glory Capital had to retreat in disappointment.
The only loss was that other defending points were not as successful as Ruling Sword’s. Two Strongholds had already been conquered by the enemy.
