Chapter 1721: Desperation
In any case, Ruling Sword had an extra person on their team – the Night Elf NPC.
Lu Li kept this strictly confidential. No one knew about this, and he hoped that the other clubs would just have to slowly make progress. It was likely that the new Instance Dungeon Naxxramas Necropolis, or Naxx, would be open soon.
This was a very famous Instance Dungeon, one that would soon take up a few months of their time.
It had been more than a year since Lu Li was reborn. As the year was coming to an end, Lu Li was rather sad and hoped that the other clubs would remain occupied by C’Thun for as long as possible. It was entirely possible that they would take until the new year.
“Boss…is this…?”
Sky Moon and the others were surprised.
“This is a Quest NPC. I got him to come and he will join us in the Instance Dungeon,” Lu Li said. However, Lu Li was actually underplaying the significance of the event. He was quite proud of this because even someone like Hachi Chan couldn’t make it happen. This was only possible in very limited circ.u.mstances.
Mar’alith was a very serious character, and didn’t speak with the other players.
However, after entering the Instance Dungeon, he came alive. This guy was like four Druids combined. He first used the Cat Transformation to aggro the monsters, before using Bear Transformation to tank them. He would then use Bird Transformation to cast a variety of skills and would use Tree Transformation to heal himself when he fell to low HP.
“Wow, I really want to be friends with him. Can he be my teacher?” Hachi Chan said as she stared at this NPC, completely entranced.
She had forgotten that her mentor was Remulos, the Demi-G.o.d.
With the addition of this new force, the Instance Dungeon became quite easy. The first few Bosses were taken down without any problems – especially since everyone was familiar with them.
Unfortunately, there was an incident while the group was fighting against the Twin Emperors and they were wiped.
Even though Ruling Sword had their strategy for defeating this boss, they were still defeated. After all, the Twin Emperors were where they had been completely stuck for over a week.
Everyone felt a bit nervous. They weren’t worried about themselves, but whether the NPC would be killed by the Twin Emperors.
However, it turned out that they were worrying for nothing. In the same way that Lu Li could escape with Gale Steps, Mar’alith had his own invulnerability skill which he cast, before turning into a Leopard and escaping to a safe area.
The Twin Emperors also ignored Mar’alith, like they were blind towards him.
After being wiped two more times, the Twin Emperors had finally been dealt with. Now, there was just Ouro and C’Thun left. Mar’alith was a good teammate, but the best part about him was his ability to heal the others.
“Boss, this aide is just too powerful,” Sky Moon commented. His commanding experience had been quite boring today. He recently thought he was beginning to understand what it was like to be Lu Li, but he didn’t expect Lu Li to do something like this.
Now that they had seen Mar’alith’s strength, they had a renewed hope in fighting C’Thun.
Ruling Sword had killed Ouro several times. They had managed to do it at almost every refresh, and found themselves facing C’Thun.
As such, after being wiped a few times, Ouro was defeated.
Everything had gone smoothly; the experience felt surreal. Everyone thought that this would still be a difficult fight, and that they would spend much more time fighting Ouro. They didn’t expect to be fighting C’Thun already.
Even after C’Thun fell, the day had not come to an end.
When they defeated Ouro, no one would have known unless Lu Li said something. However, when C’Thun died, all the major clubs immediately knew about it. The news had even travelled internationally.
This was because the System broadcast that the First Clear of the Ahn’Qiraj Temple had finally been taken, two to three months since the Dungeon had first been opened.
Glory Capital had managed to kill Ouro, but they hadn’t even entered C’Thun’s second stage.
Sorrowless sighed and announced that everyone should take a break. They were free to grind for the Headless Paladin’s Steed if they wanted to, as competing to defeat C’Thun now was meaningless.
They had never felt so depressed. It was like a boxing match where they had been knocked out even before they raised their fists.
When it came to Instance Dungeons, Sorrowless felt like he was helpless to fight back against Lu Li.
“Alright, let’s loot the equipment,” Lu Li said as he glanced over and saw that Mar’alith didn’t want to wait around. Even if he was bruised and mentally exhausted, he just wanted to see his wife.
Even before he fought C’Thun, he had wanted to see his wife.
However, Lu Li put him to even more work. The C’Thun High Priest wasn’t very strong, so defeating this priest that wouldn’t even fight back was a breeze.
Although Mar’alith was not very willing, he obeyed Lu Li’s command. As a commander, he would respect the orders given, even if the commander was weak.
And so, Remnant Dream was now free to loot the equipment.
The gems and Rare Materials received went without saying, and were apportioned appropriately. There was another Enhanced Skill Book that was dropped – the Paladin’s Enhanced Consecration. This was an area of effect skill with an additional effect – anyone who entered the affected area would not only suffer continuous damage but would be slowed.
If the bonus effect wasn’t just a slow, this book could have been given to Wandering or some other Paladin.
However, since it was a slow, it was useful for PVP, so they needed to give it Mu Qiu. When facing an opponent, casting a Consecration that would not only deal damage but reduce their speed would make chasing them or running away from them easier.
The others had no opportunity to weigh in on it. The Shadow Cup was about to begin and the professional players were given priority in these things. Everyone could understand why it had been done.
Then, they started to divide up the rest of the equipment. The Gold equipment was just collected into three piles and thrown into the guild warehouse so that the ordinary guild members could use them.
Clarity Drape!
This an exquisite cloak for Healers. March Rain was both a professional player and their main healer, so it was given to her.
The professional players didn’t just get these items for free either, as that would be unfair for the other First Clear team members. The others would instead receive some bonus points for the equipment every time it was taken away like this. This way, they would receive more points for completing First Clears.
In Ruling Sword, it was Lu Li who specified the points, as he was the one who had devised this system.
