Chapter 1766: Sorrowless’ Hatred
“What a shame, to let these idiots escape,” Blood Dagger said as he downed his tea.
White Westhill, who was sitting next to him, just took a small elegant sip. The expression on her face was also brighter than that of Blood Dagger’s. Blood Dagger thought that it was a real shame not being able to get Ruling Sword, but White Westhill didn’t think much of it. They didn’t get the best, but they were leaving the best till last.
“Don’t underestimate Ruling Sword. If Ruling Sword are idiots, then what are we?” Sorrowless said sa he glared at Blood Dagger, while again refilling Blood Dagger’s cup.
The only people who he’d pour a drink for were these few in front of him.
“Knocking out Peerless City’s not bad either. If we lose the champions.h.i.+p again, then we really will have to face up to the blame from the board,” West Whitehill sighed.
“Hehe, if we don’t wanna cooperate with them, we’ll just let them leave,” Sorrowless laughed coldly. He had an unyielding att.i.tude, because he was the biggest shareholder. White Westhill and others also had quite a few shares, so they had complete control over their board of directors.
“…”
This guy was probably not in a good mood. Blood Dagger and others sensibly kept quiet.
After sitting around for a while, everyone began to leave. Just when they were leaving, they just happened to brush past someone. Everyone was familiar with everyone else here, so it was hard to avoid saying h.e.l.lo. From this, they knew why Sorrowless wasn’t in a good mood.
After Night Blood walked in, he sat opposite to Sorrowless, not saying a word.
“Is she still not willing to come home?”
Sorrowless’ shoulders were drooping. All of the aggressive reprimanding of Blood Dagger was gone.
“Nope, she’s already graduated. There’s nothing much at home that can hold her. She’s the main Tank Healer in the Ruling Sword First Clear team now. I was lost for words when I saw the equipment she had. She is getting hundreds of thousands every month – what can I do?” Night Blood said sourly.
“A young girl like that, going by herself to all sorts of faraway places and mixing with a bunch of boys…” Sorrowless would only show this sort of immaturity in front of this future bro-in-law.
“Hehe…” Night Blood laughed coldly, then continue, “If you’re not careful about your own personal life, how can you tell me how to take care of my sister?”
“It’s a misunderstanding. All of this is just fun and games. Really, nothing much has happened. I just didn’t really understand this nonsense. Even if it’s a punishment, it’s quite enough – I mean, does she want me to go beg her to come back? Sorrowless responded as he stole at glance at Night Blood.
Night Blood looked at him with slanting eyes, and like before, he laughed coldly but had nothing to say.
“Fine, say I failed. Tell me what I should do so that she’ll come back,” Sorrowless said, his shoulders
drooping as low as they could. “We’re like water and fire with Ruling Sword at the moment, and she’s not in a good place in the middle. I just don’t believe that Lu Li won’t be defensive with her.”
“What’s there to be defensive about? She’s been in the First Clear team the whole time and in all the stronghold battles,” Night Blood said, taking a bit of joy in Sorrowless’ misfortune. “You don’t have the heart. It doesn’t matter what you say – don’t say you’ll beg her to come back. Even if my own mother went, it would be of no use.”
“Lu Li…” Sorrowless was so resentful he was gnas.h.i.+ng his teeth.
“That b.a.s.t.a.r.d!”
This was the first time that Sorrowless, who was usually acknowledged as an alpha male, was worried about being forever alone.
All levels of Glory Capital regretted not being able to deal with Ruling Sword, and Blood Red War Flag, who were actually facing Ruling Sword, really didn’t feel that they were very lucky.
It wasn’t that they thought they couldn’t defeat Ruling Sword. There wasn’t a big difference between their power, and there was no reason for them to inflate their opponents’ grandeur and ruin their own morale. The thing was that no one wanted to face such a strong opponent at the beginning and consume all their energy and strength. It would definitely affect them in their match against Glory Capital.
“Blood Red War Flag. Hehe, how about I go on first?” Fat Monkey suggested as he licked his lips.
“Monkey, it’s Blood Red War Flag, not the Imperial Secret Service,” Lu Li called out in a deep voice.
“I know, I know, I’m just making a joke, lightening the mood,” Fat Monkey said. However, there was no need to make any reb.u.t.tal about looking down on Blood Red War Flag. It was just like when Blood Red War Flag considered Glory Capital to be the worst guild. But when did Ruling Sword ever not consider Glory Capital to be their biggest target in the Shadow Cup?
As for Glory Capital, it was because of Darkness that Sorrowless couldn’t wait to destroy Ruling Sword.
“They probably have Wild up on the arena. Are you going up or should I go?” Moonlight asked.
Wild was the most powerful mage in the current patch. The skill he had was unmatched, and he had received the t.i.tle of being a celebrity compet.i.tor two years after entering the professional scene. All the way till now, Blood Red Flag’s leader was Jade Flower Lover, but the strongest was still Wild.
“I’ll go.”
In the last Shadow Cup, Lu Li faced off against Wild. Since he was reborn at that time, his level, equipment and techniques were well in the lead and he didn’t feel any pressure at all.
Now, he was meeting a version of Wild who was at his peak.
The advantages in his technique were long gone. Having played Dawn now for over a year, professional players all owned their own style. As for equipment, there might be a slight gap, but it wouldn’t be too large. Although Ruling Sword didn’t have as many Elite groups, they had taken a lot of First Clears and their top-level equipment wasn’t bad at all.
A line of frost was slowly extending at Lu Li’s feet. Although Lu Li didn’t know how his opponent was able to apprehend him at his location, he also knew that he was in big trouble.
He glanced back, then proceeded directly to Stealth.
However, he quickly circled back, cautiously getting close to Wild while waiting patiently to attack. Before Wild released a skill again, he escaped, not at all being caught up in the battle.
“Lu Li’s at a disadvantage.”
Dark Wind said what everyone saw. This was an obvious matter. Wild had used two skills, cancelling out Lu Li’s two escape options. Even if Lu Li had more escape skills, they wouldn’t be used in that way.
“He’s testing Wild’s Detection,” Nine Phoenix said.
“Yeah, when Lu Li’s fighting a Mage, especially a top player like this, he needs to know the range the Mage can Detect, and what they use to Detect him. Is it their own Detection, skills, or special effects from equipment? If you just keep going for it, you’re asking to die,” Dark Wind explained.
“I haven’t seen such amazing Thief technique for a long time. I suppose everyone has something they’re striving for now. You just have to pick up what you’re using and choose who you’re going to go for. Whoever chooses the right player in this arena will have a chance to receive a piece of official Epic equipment.”
With so many players on the stage, and only one piece of Epic equipment, the chances of winning were one in a million, but this didn’t do anything to stop the players’ continued enthusiasm.
