"Follow the corners of the map, especially the foot of the mountain. Attack the Experience Reindeer as soon as you see them, and attack the Equipment Reindeer that are level 40 or 45. Avoid the Reputation Reindeer," Lu Li instructed everyone in the guild.
Of course, others outside the guild would know since he was publicly announcing this; there were bound to be spies in a guild this size.
"Why are we avoiding the Reputation Reindeer? As long as you do some damage, you can get some reputation," Azure Sea Breeze asked; he didn"t understand. At this point in time, many of them had already began to empower their skills, so they understood how important Reputation was.
In Azure Sea Breeze"s eyes, the gaming company was giving out free reputation.
"That"s true, but only if you can kill the reindeer. It"s a level 50 super boss. Even with all the players in the game, we probably can"t take one down, let alone our guild," Lu Li explained.
"No way! Why would the gaming company design a Boss that we can"t slay? Are there no strategies for it?" Wandering asked.
"Who knows? I"ve gone to test it, but it"s definitely not what the current players can handle right now. I almost couldn"t make it back," Lu Li said.
"Why didn"t you say so earlier? I died thinking I could get something, even though I saw all the dead people. I thought since I was a Hunter and I could deal ranged damage that I would be able to fight it. Who knew the boss would be so strong," Xiao Xian, a Hunter, sighed in sorrow.
"There"s no need to take on low-level Equipment Reindeer. What do we do with this level 5 gold equipment?" Rain Like A Wanderer also questioned.
He was lucky that he hadn"t run into the Reputation Reindeer; he had just run into a low-level Equipment Reindeer outside of Night Town. A pack of Paladins pounced on it and destroyed the monster, but the equipment left them speechless.
While it was Gold-grade, who would spend money on a level 5 equip that they wouldn"t use for long?
"The level one Experience Reindeer still gave quite a decent amount of experience, haha..." someone soon reported in.
Lu Li and his team were in a forest in Grey Valley killing a level 45 Experience Reindeer.
This Boss had high Attack and high Defense. Azure Sea Breeze took around a thousand points of damage from one hit, while the others received a few hundred points of splash damage.
Fortunately, the Experience Reindeer"s HP wasn"t as high as a typical Wild Boss. It only had around a hundred thousand points of health.
"Deal more damage and watch out for people who might come and steal it," Lu Li commanded with a hint of worry as he glanced at the few groups who were standing near them. He had chosen this area because the map refreshed Experience Reindeers more often and the trees were useful for hiding behind. They would reduce the chance of them having a fight with other players.
It was best to avoid fights at a critical time like this.
After the Experience Reindeer in a distance was killed, a bunch off players began to slowly approach them. When they saw that this Experience Reindeer was level 45, they couldn"t stop themselves from asking.
"Do you guys need help?"
"No, thanks," Azure Sea Breeze declined.
They were disappointed, but they didn"t want to back away like this and stood around to watch. Lu Li"s team only had ten people, so in their minds, their chances of defeating the Reindeer were slim.
"Bro, should we..." a Thief player walked up to his team leader and whispered.
"No rush – the boss hasn"t reached low health yet."
This leader was in charge of twenty people, but even if they worked with the Reindeer, there was no guarantee that they would be able to walk away unscathed.
What they didn"t know was that Xin Xin Mercenary Group was also having a small chat amongst themselves.
"Why are they still here?" Azure Sea Breeze asked.
"They want to see what they can get out of the situation; they want to see you die to this reindeer," Wandering laughed coldly.
"*****, let"s go kill them!"
Azure Sea Breeze was enraged as soon as he heard that these people wanted him dead. He wasn"t the least bit concerned about numbers.
Moonlight wasn"t concerned either, but he wasn"t as reckless as Azure Sea Breeze and asked for Lu Li"s opinion with his eyes.
"Take down the Boss quickly; we"ll talk about it after we take it down. Be on guard, March – watch out for your positioning. Don"t let them kill you instantly," Lu Li instructed as he glared at Azure Sea Breeze.
March Rain adjusted her positioning and the others also moved accordingly.
If these people snuck up on them, they would be able to react in time. Although there were two different threats, they weren"t worried at all.
There were so many players in the game, so there was no way that elites and compet.i.tors would be everywhere. At the very most, these players would only be a little above average, so they likely posed no threat to them at all.
The Attack of the Experience Reindeer became higher and higher, and Azure Sea Breeze had to use his damage reduction skills more often to ensure that his health was maintained above 50%. The Reindeer then began to use some area-of-effect spells.
This was the reason why the other party was willing to wait.
Lu Li was also aware of the situation, but he was confident – the Experience Reindeer was different to the Reputation Reindeer. Although these Bosses were found in the Wild, they didn"t have ultimate skills like Wild Bosses did.
The group spell dealt a significant amount of damage; everyone on Lu Li"s party lost around 30% HP.
"Do you need me to use my heal?" March Rain asked.
"I can cast my Tranquility too, but I"m worried that they might interrupt it," Hachi Chan said. Empowerment: Tranquility was a strong spell, but it required a channel-time. If she was attacked over this duration, the spell would go to waste.
"Don"t, just stay as you are. March, act like you"re struggling," Lu Li instructed in the channel.
March Rain was smart and followed Lu Li"s instructions, haphazardly throwing her healing spells around the battlefield.
"This is too fake," Azure Sea Breeze commented.
However, the other team did not seem to notice in the heat of the battle.
"Now"s the time! Go!" the team leader shouted as he charged at March Rain.
