Chapter 291: Don’t Stab Yourself
Seeing how Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes landed on Su Wan the minute he entered, Xiao Ye smiled. She, as the outsider, felt extremely warm at the sight of this scene.
She said tactfully and said, “Mr. Jiang, I won’t disturb you two. I’ll go out first.”
Seeing Jiang Xuecheng’s nod, Xiao Ye went out of the room quietly and then closed the door after her.
Only Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng remained in the huge office.
Su Wan shrugged. She did not expect Jiang Xuecheng to be outside and didn’t know how much he had heard.
Jiang Xuecheng was an arrogant man. If he were to know the girls in the office praised him, wouldn’t his head grow too big?
Su Wan smiled and began to lie seriously.
“We were talking about you just now. We said you are too serious and inhumane.”
“Little liar, you lie without blinking.”
Jiang Xuecheng hit Su Wan’s head softly with a sense of teasing.
Su Wan glared at Jiang Xuecheng and brushed his hand off from her head.
“I’ve said not to touch me in the office. If other colleagues were to see this, it would have negative consequences, don’t you know?”
Hearing Su Wan’s serious remarks, Jiang Xuecheng couldn’t help laughing.
“Besides me, no one else in Di Chen would come into your office without knocking. Wan Wan, your worrying isn’t necessary.”
Su Wan was speechless upon hearing this and could only glare at Jiang Xuecheng but when Jiang Xuecheng saw her cute angry face, he couldn’t help pinching her cheeks.
Ooh, it felt a little chubby. It seemed that his effort in cooking so much for Su Wan had not gone to waste.
Jiang Xuecheng looked at Su Wan seriously and exclaimed softly, “Wan Wan, I think you’ve put on weight.”
Hearing what he said, Su Wan didn’t care to preach further but cared only about her weight.
“Really? I’ve put on weight?”
Weight was probably an important topic to any woman.
She loved meat and had recently eaten too much. When she reached home later, she would have to weigh herself with a scale and then pay attention to her diet…
No, Jiang Xuecheng was too good in cooking. If he were to continue cooking, she would not be able to lose weight!
Su Wan thought carefully and finally decided to cook on her own. As long as she could control the kitchen, she would not eat too much every day.
Just when Su Wan was trying to figure out her diet plan with a distressed expression, Jiang Xuecheng pinched her face again. This time, he pinched her harder, as if trying to wake her up from her imagination.
“What are you still thinking about? It’s so nice that you’ve put on weight! You’re too skinny and you should eat more…”
When Su Wan heard his words, she was upset. No, although she liked to eat and was lazy, she didn’t want him to feed her till she became a pig!
“You pinch my face again! I said you’re not allowed to pinch my face!”
Su Wan brushed his hand off and then stared at him. She spoke seriously, “Xuecheng, could I talk to you about something?”
With Su Wan’s tone of voice, Jiang Xuecheng thought that she was going to make some earth-shaking demands.
He darted a side glance at her and his eyes were full of interest.
“What?”
“Xuecheng, let me take charge of dinner preparation from now on!”
While Su Wan spoke, she patted Jiang Xuecheng on the shoulder in a heroic manner.
However, she was quite pet.i.te compared to Jiang Xuecheng so this scene looked more comical than heroic.
After Su Wan spoke, she felt good and that she could get on the right track in minutes.
She usually had less meat during breakfast and would have lunch in the office. Only dinner was so rich.
No wonder people said that taking dinner was the easiest way to get fat. Her slimming plan would start with this step!
She couldn’t continue to be so fat! Definitely not!
“Are you sure?”
Su Wan’s cooking could be said to be unsatisfactory but Jiang Xuecheng deeply suspected that this little woman’s appet.i.te had been developed by him.
Seeing Su Wan getting angry again, Jiang Xuecheng tapped her nose smilingly and in his eyes were all doting.
“Alright, I’ll give you a chance to perform. Just don’t blow up the kitchen.”
When Jiang Xuecheng finally agreed, Su Wan smiled with satisfaction. She turned on the darkened computer screen and suddenly, the post on Weibo appeared in front of her.
Su Wan’s smile faded as she pointed at the pixelated pictures on Weibo. She asked, “Xuecheng, how did you get those pictures?”
To be honest, Su Wan had been Su Yurou’s cousin for so long but had not realize that Su Yurou had led a rotten life.
This showed that Su Yurou must have had a well-thought plan to cover her tracks.
Jiang Xuecheng smiled faintly. His dark eyes seemed to be able to see everything.
“As long as you want to check, there will be clues around but I have to thank Lu Qingyu for the pictures. He provided the pictures to me as a friend.”
Since the last time he partic.i.p.ated in the Lu family’s cruise s.h.i.+p auction, Jiang Xuecheng and Lu Qingyu had been having close business contacts as well as more and more collaborative projects.
When Jiang Xuecheng was investigating Su Yurou, he had tracked down Lu Qingyu. The man was quick to provide the key information.
Upon hearing this, Su Wan was shocked. She understood his implied meaning immediately.
So, Su Yurou had intimate contact with Lu Qingyu before. Su Yurou was too daring. After all, Gu Zihang and Lu Qingyu were cla.s.smates!
Jiang Xuecheng caressed Su Wan’s hair and helped her to tuck her bangs to the side.
“Wan Wan, Su Yurou will soon get what she deserves.”
To Jiang Xuecheng, the prison was a suitable place for cruel women like Su Yurou.
Hearing this sentence, sadness appeared in Su Wan’s eyes. It had merely been a few months and many things had changed.
If Su Jiankai and Su Yurou were to go to jail together, would her grandfather faint out of anger?
However, Su Wan didn’t know what to say except to wish that Su Heng would take good care of himself.
When Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan’s sadness, a cold light appeared in his eyes.
“These people don’t deserve sympathy. If you sympathize with them, you’re only stabbing yourself with a knife.”
Su Wan was taken aback and then nodded lightly.
Su Wan’s heart had long been cold toward the cold Su family. What she could do now was not to be ashamed of anything.
As a daughter of the Su family, she would not fail to perform any of her duties.
Her grandfather and grandmother were growing old. She would take on her responsibilities to take care of them. In the same way, she would help the Su family’s business to regain its foothold in the market.
However, if her grandfather wanted her to help Su Jiankai and Su Yurou to be free of their charges, it would be a daydream!
