Chapter 302: Su Yurou’s Diary
The wedding had been scheduled for the first of June?
Did it mean their wedding anniversary would be celebrated together with Children’s Day in the future?
“Xuecheng, I never knew you still had a child-like heart.”
Su Wan put her hands on Jiang Xuecheng’s shoulders. She had a clear smile on her delicate face and her shallow dimples on her cheeks were so beautiful that they could immerse people in them.
Jiang Xuecheng tilted his face to look at Su Wan. His eyes sparkled, “It’s not that I have child-like heart but in my eyes, Wan Wan, you’re like a childish and naïve child and Children’s Day is indeed more suitable for you.”
When the tone of the man’s ridicule fell into Su Wan’s ears, she was speechless.
Although she liked to celebrate children’s day, how was she childish and naïve?
Su Wan glared at Jiang Xuecheng and when he saw his smile, she suddenly remembered something.
“Xuecheng, have you found me a guqin teacher by the name of Sun Yue?”
Jiang Xuecheng’s smile disappeared. His hands around Su Wan’s waist tightened in an instant.
“Did Ah Si tell you? He can’t keep a secret.”
Sensing Jiang Xuecheng’s dissatisfaction, Su Wan sneered. She felt wronged for Ah Si!
“Don’t make a blind guess. It’s not Ah Si who told me. Today, Sheng An’ning mentioned it when she was filming at the seaside for the Roses of Mariposa advertis.e.m.e.nt. I heard that Sun Yue was her mentor.”
At the sudden mentioning of Sheng An’ning’s name, Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes deepened. He stood up and rubbed Su Wan’s head gently.
“Sun Yun taught her before in the past but they no longer have lessons together now. If you don’t like to have the same teacher as Sheng An’ning, I can find you another teacher…”
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes seemed to have stars sparkling in them, so deep and so gentle.
Being stared at by Jiang Xuecheng, Su Wan’s heart trembled. Her long eyelashes trembled and she shook her head after regaining her senses.
“Please don’t!”
“In fact, my mother used to like Sun Yue. I’m very happy that you found her as my teacher.”
She was more than happy to have such a famous teacher to guide her in playing the guqin, how could she dislike his arrangement?
Seeing Su Wan explaining anxiously, Jiang Xuecheng looked at her with devotion. Suddenly, he felt his effort of getting her the teacher was not wasted.
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes curved slightly and he held Su Wan’s face seriously.
“Wan Wan, I’ll be happy as long as you like it but learning the guqin takes a long time. If you don’t have talent in this area, you don’t have to force yourself. Your happiness is the most important.”
His voice was low and cold but when it entered Su Wan’s ears, she could hear his gentleness and care for her.
Su Wan looked at Jiang Xuecheng steadily and her heart palpitated.
This man seemed to have thought about everything for her. He had found the most outstanding guqin teacher in the country to teach her not because he wanted her to learn the best skill.
What he cared about was whether she was happy.
Everything else was unimportant.
This feeling was as if someone made you the apple of their eye. She felt touched and that feeling grew and gradually spread to her limbs and bones.
Su Wan recollected herself and didn’t want Jiang Xuecheng to see her bitterness. Jiang Xuecheng treated her so well. She even worried about gaining and losing him.
She tried hard to show a natural smile, “Alright but you must believe I’m smart and learning this instrument is a small thing!”
Back then, Su Wan’s mother had said it was a pity that Su Wan, with her beautiful hands, did not learn the guqin with her.
What Jiang Xuecheng did now had indirectly fulfilled Xie Lan’s dream.
Jiang Xuecheng smiled a shallow smile. He put his arm around Su Wan’s shoulders and with a serious look, said, “I’ve brought forward my work, so I won’t be able to accompany you this weekend. I have to go to B City. Stay home these two days and don’t go anywhere.”
Before this, Sheng An’ning and Gu Zihang had taken advantage of his absence to ask Su Wan to go out.
Hence, Jiang Xuecheng was asking her not to go anywhere.
Su Wan was shocked when she heard this. She had initially thought they could take their wedding photos this weekend. It turned out that Jiang Xuecheng had his weekend scheduled.
Su Wan pursed her lips. She knew what Jiang Xuecheng meant, so she smiled and said, “Don’t worry, if Sheng An’ning were to ask me out again, I’ll definitely ignore her.”
When Su Wan understood his implication, Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes narrowed.
“Good that you understand. Sun Yue will come this Sat.u.r.day to teach you. She’s a teacher of n.o.ble character. You have to watch your etiquette.”
Su Wan’s eyes widened. She had initially thought that she would go over to Sun Yue’s house to learn the guqin. Never had she expected to trouble her to come over!
This was really…
Su Wan nodded silently and then added, “Xuecheng, I’ll return to the planning department first. You can proceed with your own work. All the best!”
Jiang Xuecheng watched as Su Wan left the office. Only when she closed the door did he move his eyes back.
Jiang Xuecheng held the tea Su Wan made for him and took a sip.
Suddenly, a beautiful melody played in the huge office.
Jiang Xuecheng stood up and took his phone from the desk. After he saw the number, his eyes deepened slightly.
His long finger slide to answer the call. Very quickly, a deep voice was heard from the other end.
“Mr. Jiang, we looked into Su Yurou’s mobile phone thoroughly and found that she had received calls from four numbers which were not in her contact list. Those numbers were from fixed line telephone booths.”
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes turned cold and he put the white porcelain cup down as he asked softly, “Is there any pattern in the address distribution of these telephone booths?”
If the location of these telephone booths were more concentrated, then he could reasonably infer the residential area of the caller.
“I’ve asked my men to check this out but these four fixed line telephone booths were distributed in the north, south, east and west of S City. There isn’t a pattern.”
This answer was indeed within his expectation.
Jiang Xuecheng was not disappointed but it was a pity this clue could not be used.
Just when Jiang Xuecheng was sighing, the man on the other end hesitated for a while and then continued to report to Jiang Xuecheng.
“Mr. Jiang, although we did not manage to find out what’s special about the phone numbers, we found a diary application on Su Yurou’s mobile phone.
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes lit up and he asked faintly, “What’s in there?”
“Nothing special overall but on the day of her father’s trial, she wrote a few words, ‘Thank you, Mr. Chen.’ Ever since then, she did not write anything else in her diary.”
Thank you, Mr. Chen?
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes deepened. It looked like Mr. Chen was the person he needed to investigate further.
