Chapter 311: Jiang Xuecheng, Wait For Me
The scene on the television was not clear and Su Wan couldn’t see the number plate of the Koenigsegg Agera R.
Suddenly, Su Wan seemed to have heard the sound of the sky falling.
Jiang Xuecheng was the only one in all of Jiuzhou who drove a black Koenigsegg Agera R.
Highway, car accident, five-car collision, Koenigsegg Agera R…
These few phrases were jumbled together and they crept into Su Wan’s mind all of a sudden.
Su Wan didn’t know why but her mind went blank and tears quickly filled her eyes.
“Xuecheng…”
Su Wan murmured Jiang Xuecheng’s name and her hand trembled uncontrollably. She was barely able to take out her mobile phone to dial Jiang Xuecheng’s number.
He would be fine, wouldn’t he?
How could that G.o.d-like man be in trouble?
He had just sent her a message saying he would be home in half an hour.
It would be their wedding on the first of June. Jiang Xuecheng loved her so much, how could he bear to be absent on such an important day for them?
“Sorry, the number you have called is currently unavailable. Please try again later.”
From the other end of the phone came the sound of the voicemail greeting. It came like a sharp knife, stabbing Su Wan’s heart quickly and accurately. Just one stab and she bled.
Three years ago, she had seen her beloved parents die in a car crash and now Jiang Xuecheng had met with a car accident!
Were the heavens so cruel, putting all whom she cared for to death?
No, no, no, Jiang Xuecheng would be fine.
He had said he would give her a grand wedding. He had even said that they would have two adorable children.
The boy would look like him and the girl would look like her. When their children grew up, he and she would leave behind all the trivial matters and travel around to see the world.
Su Wan bit her lips and a thick bitterness appeared in her eyes. Su Wan restrained herself from crying. Very quickly, she called Ah Si.
Ah Si had accompanied Jiang Xuecheng on this business trip to B City, so he should know Jiang Xuecheng’s current conditions best.
However, as soon as she called, there was a busy tone and no one picked up the phone.
Had Ah Si and Jiang Xuecheng met with the car accident together?
Su Wan felt as if she had been struck by the lightning. Her body weakened and she staggered backward.
Thud! Su Wan’s mobile phone fell to the ground.
Su Wan picked up the phone and forced herself to stand steadily.
She heard the female newsreader broadcasting the news at a slow speed.
“The cause of the accident is under investigation. At the moment, two people have been killed and the others have experienced different injuries. All who are injured have been transferred to The City Hospital of S City for treatment.”
The accident had killed two people…
Could it be Jiang Xuecheng and Ah Si…
The crimson color on Su Wan’s cheeks faded slowly away and great fear arose in her heart.
Su Wan felt as if she had been beaten by someone and the unbearable pain attacked her body causing her to tremble non-stop.
Su Wan’s eyes were full of tears. She shook her head and quickly threw the negative thoughts out of her mind. She then s.h.i.+fted her attention to the last sentence the newsreader said.
All who were injured had been transferred to The City Hospital of S City…
Su Wan dashed out of the house without bothering to switch off the television and to change out of her pajamas.
The heavy sound of door closing rang in Su Wan’s ears but at that moment, Su Wan could hear nothing. Only the last sentence of the newsreader echoed in her mind.
Jiang Xuecheng was at The City Hospital of S City…
She wanted to see him. Her yearning for him was strongest at this moment.
The weather forecast reported today as a rainy day. When she went out that morning, it was sunny and she thought the weather forecast for the day was inaccurate.
However, there was a storm now. Su Wan’s plain white silk pajamas was blown by the wind. She ran against the wind and rain and her hair and clothes were all wet.
In her current state with her messy hair, she didn’t look like her usual exquisite self. She was now running desperately in the boundless night rain.
She looked like a female ghost in white coming out of the television. When being shone by the street lamps, she looked horrifying.
Su Wan’s face turned ghastly pale. Her fingertips were cold but her heart was colder.
It was summer in May now but Su Wan felt that the wind hitting on her body was so cold that her blood had almost frozen into ice.
There had never been a time like this when Su Wan felt the distance from home to the entrance of Fontainebleau was so long.
In her eyes were all tears!
Fear, panic, helplessness were all attacking Su Wan. Only one belief supported Su Wan—she couldn’t lose Jiang Xuecheng. She couldn’t lose the man who loved her.
No matter what, she couldn’t.
The heavens had given her enough challenges. If the heavens were not willing to give her this little bit of happiness, Su Wan had no doubt she would go insane.
The rain splashed. The heaven seemed to have acc.u.mulated lots of grievances for a long time and finally cried at this moment.
When those who came back late to Fontainebleau saw the girl in pajamas, struggling to run in the rain, they couldn’t help looking at her.
They didn’t know why this girl looked so dreary. She was on a rampage and she looked as if she was going to fall to the ground.
The security guard recognized Su Wan and had wanted to call out to her to give her an umbrella but Su Wan’s eyes were blank and she couldn’t hear his call. She ran straight to the other end of the road.
Su Wan stood by the side of the road and hailed the taxi when she saw one.
The taxi driver saw a ghostly figure in white and was so scared that he stepped on the car brake.
Goodness, had he seen a ghost at night?
However, when he looked closely, although the female ghost had messy hair and her clothes were all wet, she was quite good-looking…
Su Wan saw the driver stop. So, she pulled the door open.
“Sir, to The City Hospital of S City please. I’m rus.h.i.+ng. Could you please drive faster?”
Su Wan’s voice was hoa.r.s.e and sounded like sobbing. The driver immediately sensed that she was a human.
The driver let out a sigh of relief. From the rear-view mirror, he looked at the pale Su Wan. Coupled with the destination she wanted to go to, the driver guessed someone important to Su Wan must have gotten into trouble.
“Alright, miss, I’ll try my best!”
The driver stepped on the accelerator and like an arrow leaving its bow, he drove quickly toward The City Hospital of S City.
The grayish blue taxi quickly blended into the vast rain.
Su Wan held on to her seat tightly with one hand while holding to her phone with the other. She hoped to receive a new message.
Above all else, the unknown was the most fearful.
Her clear pupils were now misty and sharp pain arose in her heart, causing Su Wan to be almost out of breath.
‘Wait for me, Jiang Xuecheng. You’ll be fine, won’t you?’
