As they walked the hallway to their room at Sofitel cataract hotel, Malika"s thoughts swirled in her mind, a foreign feeling ran through her body, she didn"t feel like herself. She was turning into something familiar and nostalgic.

She was looking down and breathing in a rather fast rhythm. That day tiredness came in both forms, physical and mental, Farah slumped over the bed the moment they entered their room and went right into sleep. Malika laid on the bed next to Farah"s; she couldn"t calm the loud voices inside her head. All the energy to think drained out of her.

She looked at Farah"s sleeping body and then glimpsed the balcony door, she went to the balcony, the view was breathtaking, the moonlight splashed down white silver glow across the Nile, she stepped inside it taking a deep long breath.

The weather was warm and comfy with gentle breezes filled with night-blooming jasmine. She sat on one of the two chairs she found beside her and took a couple of papers and a pen out of her bag; she wanted to organize her thoughts. "The odd woman… a sword… Donggun…what is happening to us?" she said, putting the pen down on her lap. She sighed and closed her eyes to relax.

4:45 am.

"Malika"— a voice her heart recognized it— "WAKE UP!" Malika"s whole body was shaking hard; she fell on the ground and hit her head.

She opened her eyes terrified. She held her head in pain; the sunrise reflected its shine on the gemstone necklace hitting her eyes with its shining light. Every sense urged her to stand up. She sat up and rubbed her eyes lightly then opened them. She cringed; something shiny was still hitting her sight, she moved her head from the sun rays direction, she sensed someone standing next to her, she couldn"t raise her sight due to the sun rays that were getting stronger every second, she looked at the ground then followed the shadow of the person beside her.

The first thing she saw was a pair of black converse sneakers with a bloodstain on the right shoelace. She frowned then looked at her own feet, she was wearing identical sneakers with the exact stain. A sudden irregular dripping sounds came from behind her. She moved her body and saw the person standing beside her, she gasped loud then immediately held her mouth to stop herself from screaming.

A woman wearing tight-fitting jeans, a red shirt and a dark gray cardigan exactly like what Malika was wearing. Strong bright blue strings were covering the woman"s left hand; it was connecting her hand to what she was holding. Malika looked at the woman"s hand, she was holding a thick sword covered in blood that ran through its almost blinding l.u.s.trous white long blade with the blood drops. .h.i.tting the balcony floor constantly.

"WAKE UP!" the woman screamed and suddenly stabbed the sword into the floor right across Malika"s terrified face.

Malika shot her eyes open while gasping for air. She was sweating profusely, her heart pounded with a tremendous rush of adrenaline. She held on the chair she was sitting on tightly and looked around to find herself alone with no trace of blood. She stood up fast and held the balcony railing to maintain her sudden loss of balance.

A few minutes later she went inside to see Farah sleeping on her back, one leg on the bed the other one on the floor, her arms were wide open, some of her hair was covering her face, her mouth was open, and she was snoring. Her oversized black sweatshirt was only covering half of her body. Malika sighed and walked toward the bathroom.

6:00 am.

As she was laying on her bed, Malika couldn"t help but think about everything that happened to her. The only thought she had at this moment was how all of this was true. Something was missing; small information to solve the mystery. Farah"s snores were loud and in rhythm. "I"m losing my mind," Malika whispered, getting out of bed.

She didn"t know what to do; she got herself outside the hotel and started to walk without a clear direction. The city was quiet, a few numbers of people were awake, no sound but the birds and the movement of the trees. She reached the closest point to the Nile from the hotel and sat on the nearest bench.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath inhaling the fresh smell of the shining morning. She moved her head resting it on the backrest. She felt the presence of someone standing behind her, she opened her eyes swiftly. She turned and looked back with her eyes widen in shock. The same woman stood in front of her, Malika"s eyes quickly scanned her till it reached to her face, a sudden strong wind hit them, and the woman"s hair covered her face. "Wake up," she said.

Malika closed her eyes hard, shaking her head and said, "I"m hallucinating!!"

The strong wind stopped, Malika opened her eyes and found the woman vanished. "What the h.e.l.l is happening to me!!?" she got up and ran as fast as she could to the hotel. She slammed the door and jumped over Farah"s bed. "FARAH! WAKE UP!" Farah was the type of sleeper that nothing could wake her up easily. Malika slapped her hard; Farah opened her eyes terrified from the slap. "FARAH!" Malika screamed in fear.

"What! What happened?!"

"I was sleeping outside, and I don"t know if I was dreaming but there was a woman holding a b.l.o.o.d.y sword and she was wearing what I"m wearing but I couldn"t see her face but she was telling me to wake up and I—" Farah put her hand on Malika"s mouth.

"You slapped me in the face to tell me about a dream!" Farah moved her hair that was covering her sight and blinked hard trying to avoid all the light that was coming from the balcony. Malika moved Farah"s hand away.

"—it"s not a dream! I just saw the woman! I was sitting outside the hotel, and she told me the same thing! It can"t be a dream!"

"What is it then?" Farah said and laid on her back. Malika blinked fast and then left Farah and went to the balcony more confused.
