The Kings

Chapter 35

He disliked this place, the flower greenhouse! One time around midnight, he was wandering around this area half drunk. Suddenly, he heard a young woman weeping from inside the greenhouse.

Who would be here in the middle of the night? The youngest one was Anong, but she should in bed already. Probably even asleep.

Nevertheless, his curiosity took the best of him, so he decided to peek through the door gla.s.s panels. It was hard to see who was inside due to the flowers blocking his view. Except when he had a better view, what he saw was imprinted into his eyes for the rest of his life.

He saw a woman who was wearing a white dress, slowly walking towards his way. Her head was facing down, with her long black hair blocking her face. All the sudden she dropped onto the ground and began screaming as if she was in excruciating pain. Then she looked up, staring him dead in the eyes.

"AHHHHHH!" He screamed at the top of his lung. He didn"t have to think twice before running for his life.

While running on the gravel pathway back to the house, the ghost grabbed him by the ankle causing him to take a full tumble. He sc.r.a.pped his knees, hands, and forehead. Ruining his handsome face. Then he heard the ghost in a hoa.r.s.e voice asking him to wait for her.

"Go away! I"m not waiting for you! Don"t you dare follow me!"

Like h.e.l.l he was going to wait for her! He was not a fan of running, but he"ll be d.a.m.ned if he didn"t become a olympic runner during that moment. When he got inside the house, he slammed the door shut tight. He also made sure all the doors in the house were locked extra tight.

"s.h.i.t, she"s a ghost. She can obviously walk through the doors!" He began freaking out, so his last resort was to take cover in his bedroom.

When he saw his bed, he collapsed on top of it and knocked out cold. The alcohol finally took over his body. Screw it, there are so many bedrooms here. The ghost will probably not enter his room first.

Ever since then he never stepped a foot into the greenhouse or go near it. He continued to curse the greenhouse ghost repeatedly till this day, declaring she was jealous of his beauty. He was determined the greenhouse ghost goal was to ruin his face! That"s because most of the damaged were on his face.

If he had died that night, he"d make sure to beat her up in the afterlife. At least they"ll be on equal footing. He can"t go through doors like her, and he"s not even sure if he can touch a ghost while being human either.

However, he will quietly keep it to himself and not out loud ask to have a showdown with her. Who knows, she might just pop up in front of him one day. a.s.suming he wanted to fight her because of his constant smack talk about wanting to beat her up.

I watched my second brother beckoning his hand like crazy. With one look, I could tell what was going through my brother"s head. I almost forgot about his worst fear, ghost. I always felt that I was the perpetrator for this fear of his.

Let me explain. It all started because of Mu Yi, always. I decided to build up my courage to confess my feelings towards him. He didn"t listen to what I had to say before rejecting me on the spot. That"s when he told me he didn"t see me anything more than a little sister. I always thought he had feelings for me based on how he treated me, compared to other women around him. Guess I was wrong.

Moving on, later that night I needed to find a place to cry my heart out. The only place that no one will hear me will be the greenhouse. After sobbing, I was making my way back to the house.

However, it was extremely dark inside the greenhouse. So I was slowly walking while looking down to make sure I don"t hit or step on anything. Plus my eyes were blurry from crying too much. Being as careful as I was, I still accidentally tripped over a flower pot, causing me to scream out loud.

Then I heard a loud "bang" coming from outside the greenhouse gla.s.s panel. When I looked up, I saw my second brother there with his eyes wide open and his jaw dropped. He began screaming and took off running. Now that startled me because I thought he saw something behind me! So I started running too. Then I saw my brother tripped over who knows what was in the way.

"Wait for me!" I tried shouting, but my voice was dry from all the crying.

He did not wait for me. Instead, he quickly got back up and sprinted down the gravel pathway. For the first time ever, my second brother outran me!

When I finally got to the house, all the doors were locked! What the heck? Before leaving, I made sure to leave at least one door unlocked. Ugh, I didn"t have any choice but to climb through the window.

I wasn"t sure what my brother saw behind me, but it did help me forget about Mu Yi just like that.

The very next day, it all came to light when everyone was asking what happened to his face. He told everyone he saw a ghost last night at the greenhouse, and it tried to harm him by grabbing his leg. No one believed his story. They all thought he was too drunk last night and was imagining things.

In the end, I couldn"t bring myself to tell him who was the culprit for his trauma. Occasionally, I would hear him curse about wanting to beat up the greenhouse ghost or how she was super jealous of his beauty.

Seriously, it was all a big misunderstanding! Just one that was never resolved. I"ll most likely carry this secret to the gravel with me.
