A moment later, a middle-aged man and woman, and a teenage girl in school uniform arrived. The grocery bag they were holding contains some vegetables, fish, and bread. The woman who looks a bit like Olivia smiled at her son and to the boy in a chain. "h.e.l.lo, Iggy! Grandpa and Grandma are here!"
The boy just stared at the woman without expression in his eyes.
The teenage girl went inside the room to get rid of her school uniform. While Olivia"s father disappeared into the back of the house.
"Thank G.o.d, we sold all our fish and vegetables today in the market, this is the only one left," the woman said looking at the few pieces of vegetables and fish inside the bag. "Here I bought some Iggy"s favorite bread," said the woman. She put some bread in the platter and the boy in chain grabs the bread and munched on it heartily.
The woman planted a kiss on the boy"s head, then she looked at Olivia"s photo, misty-eyed. She released a deep sigh and went back to the chair. Her mind was preoccupied, all this time, she was thinking where her daughter could be at this moment? If she"s still alive or dead already? The thoughts of not seeing her daughter alive again make her wants to cry a river right now. It"s all too much a heavy burden for a mother to carry, not knowing where her daughter had gone to for more than two years already.
Iggy pointed to the photo of his mother. "Ma..ma...Ma...ma!" he repeated the words a few times then a small smiled appeared on his lips.
The woman messed up the boy"s hair. "Iggy, you already missed your Mama so much?"
The tears were about to fall from her eyes.
The boy in the chain didn"t reply to his grandmother"s question but continue munching on the bread.
The woman hugged the boy. "Don"t worry Iggy, even if your mother will no longer come back to us, we"re still here for you...we love you...we will never abandon you...okay?"
Jessy"s tears fell from her eyes, the scene unfolding in front of her is too much for her to bear. She feels her heart is going to explode due to so much sadness while seeing the boy"s eyes filled with a deep longing for his missing mother. Sad moments like this never fail to produce fresh tears from her eyes.
If she won"t leave the house immediately they will hear her loud sobbing for sure, she"d better evaporate into thin air and go somewhere far...now!
Jessy teleported back into the city.
She was floating in the air.
She will just hover above the ground for a while and find something to do... or entertain herself with the wonderful view of the city"s skyline during night time. The view up there was simply breathtaking! It cheered her up after witnessing such a depressing scene earlier.
While hovering above the streets...she saw...a long line up in front of the store. Curious, she hovered down and caught the name of the store, lol, ah okay, it"s just a lottery ticket store.
Huh? Why are they lining up?
When she comes closer, she noticed that there"s a grand lotto draw tonight, the pot prize money is two hundred million dollars!
Wow!
Holy Guacamole!
She would buy lots of tickets today! If one of her numbers win, she will give the ticket to Olivia so that Olivia doesn"t have to do prost.i.tution anymore. A two hundred million win in the lotto can already change a person"s life forever.
She was already imagining Olivia getting rich by winning the lotto!
Yes! That"s what she"s going to do!
She roamed her gazed around the vicinity, and saw a restaurant nearby, she went inside the establishment looking for the toilet, she found it! she entered an empty cubicle and made herself visible again.
She exited the restaurant and sauntered towards the lottery store and become the last person at the end of the line, waiting for her turn patiently.
It"s her first time playing lotto and she had no idea how to do it. But she will just ask the cashier how to play the lotto.
While waiting for her turn, she realized that all the people in the line also wanted to win. They looked ordinary people wanting to get rich and improve their lives condition, well, she can"t blame them. Everyone wants money.
She was wondering if rich people also play the lottery?
But she never saw a rich looking individual among the people who took part in the long line.
Hmm, whatever!
She must win the lotto tonight for Olivia and her son!
Fighting!
She saw some of the lotto players were holding their lotto play slips.
Twenty minutes later, it"s finally her turn.
"Where"s your number...um...ticket...play slip, Miss?" the lotto attendant asked.
"Just give me random numbers...any computer-generated number combination...worth $1000. I want to play in this draw tonight," she pointed to the $200 million jackpot price advert on the front of the store.
The attendant smiled. "Ah, lucky dip? Are you sure, Miss? The cost per ticket is $3...."
"Yes...I"m so sure!"
"Okay, this will take a few minutes, the machine will be printing 333 tickets...it will cost you a total of $999," the attendant said.
Jessy took one thousand dollar bill from her sling bag and handed it to the lotto attendant, she beamed at the woman.
The attendant smiled back at her. "Hope you will win tonight, Miss!"
"Yes, I"m confident I will win tonight because I have plenty of tickets! Yaay!" Jessy said.
The attendant continues smiling in amus.e.m.e.nt, while the lotto machine was printing Jessy"s number nonstop.
A few minutes later, the machine finally printed a total of 333 tickets. The woman counted all the tickets, and then took a brown envelope from the drawer and put all the tickets inside. "Here are your tickets, Miss! Good luck!"
"Thank you!" Jessy accepted the brown envelope and put it inside her sling bag.
Now she"s ready to go home!
She went back to the restaurant nearby and ordered a take out apple pie and pineapple juice, then she went to the toilet and entered one of the empty cubicles and teleported herself back home.
A few moments later, she already landed inside her room in the Facility.
She looked at the clock on the wall, the draw will be at 8:30 tonight, thirty minutes left before the draw!
Ah, she will just check the winning numbers tomorrow at her mother"s office. For now, she needs to go back to the clinic and resume blood transfusion.
Jessy changed her attire and wore comfortable clothes, then she exited her room and strolled in the hallway going to the clinic.
