That night, Eluraa was lying down on her bed and staring at the ceiling. She had always liked the pretty blue flowers engraved on the ceiling. She recalled the recent events, "These past two weeks have gone by really fast. I wonder if I did the right thing. Maybe I should have held back a bit. Well, I have decided to go all out. So, let"s just see what happens tomorrow." She smiled and went to sleep. She had truly tried her very best and given it her all in the training exercise. It was exhilarating. As opposed to the calm demeanour she was exuding, Eluraa had a fierce compet.i.tive spirit and had enjoyed the wild combats to the full extent.
After leaving the blood academy, Herald checked with Nidaros hesitantly, "I don"t think we should report this incident to the headquarters". "I agree with you. These are troubling times. I think we should let her develop all by herself, at the least until she graduates." Nidaros nodded.
Nidaros and Herald had just written up the number of ravage wolves cleared by each student and their improvement with respect to weapon mastery in the official report. So Lingtian, had no idea what had happened. All he knew was that, they were satisfied with her performance and that she had excellent potential.
The next day morning, Eluraa packed her things and went to meet Lord Lingtian for further instructions. She was expecting to return to Ashenvale academy today. She slowly walked past the main cafeteria and climbed the stairs to Lingtian"s office. She walked around the corner and finally found Lingtian"s office. He seemed to be busy and going through some reports. Eluraa hesitantly knocked on his open door.
"Good morning Eluraa! I was waiting for you", Lingtian greeted her. Eluraa nodded in response. "Good job on the training regimen. I just had a meeting with your head instructor Max and decided that it is for the best to have you continue your basic training in the blood academy. I hope you are okay with that." Eluraa again nodded in response. She knew that blood academy students had better resources and opportunities and more importantly had training in spells using mana. So naturally, she was happy with this decision.
After listening to Lingtian"s rest of the instructions, Eluraa slowly walked towards the morning physical ability training arena. She tried to quietly blend in with the twenty-five blood academy students and not make a scene like the first day of her arrival at the Ashenvale academy. Unfortunately for her, the students were made to run in pairs at 5 minute intervals and everybody noticed the addition of an extra student.
"You …!" Jian Tan exclaimed loudly. He was actually quite scared of her. He knew that it would take her less than a minute to beat him up. Contrary to his behaviour, Shi Meng didn"t react all. Though, if one observed extremely closely, you can see a hint of a smile on his face. He was in fact very happy about this situation. Now he had a chance to compete with her and prove his strength.
"Is that the girl you were talking about?" Annet whispered to Reina. Reina nodded slightly and continued carrying on with her workout. "Does she think she is all that just because of a xenon? She definitely needs to be put in her place. Hmph. Nowadays they allow just anybody to get in our school." Annet retorted loudly. Joining Annet, there were a few other comments, remarks and gossip. Someone even loudly mentioned that she was Lingtian"s cousin and hence the preferential treatment.
Eluraa couldn"t care less about these. Even when she didn"t try to lay low, she was all alone by herself, at the Ashenvale academy. Now that she is not exactly laying low, she expected even more of these comments and gossip. After all her years alone, she had actually come to enjoy the silence and loneliness.
This world was magical, enchanting and mysterious. And she wanted to know more about it, learn more things and stand at the peak of power. She didn"t have time for all of these petty childish behaviours. After all, unlike them, she wasn"t exactly a child. Maybe, as the time goes, she would find better company, friends she can share her life with. But for now, all she wanted was to be strong enough to protect herself and her loved ones.
The academy schedules, no matter which academy, all focused on improving the students" basic physical fitness, core strength and combat expertise until they are 12 years old. The students were required to start their day with physical and combat training. This was followed by sparring with fellow student partners and instructors. Students usually rest by themselves in the evening and meditate on their day"s training program.
Every student followed this schedule diligently. This was because there were physical strength and combat expertise tests at the end of their training section. Unless they clear it, they won"t be able to progress further. They would be stuck at this stage unless they achieve stage 3 combat expertise in their area of mastery.
Other than this, the students also had other upcoming tests. Especially students with higher affinities were encouraged to train in secondary professions like alchemy, engineering and blacksmithing. Their superior affinity allowed them to forge better equipments and concoct better potions. Especially experts with affinities allowing them to combine equipments with magical spells were highly sought after. After all, the xenon, one of the best scientific achievements was a result of this engineering profession.
All of this combined, the students had very little time left. Eluraa was especially happy about that. She was very optimistic about spending the next couple of years peacefully.
